Gu Yeyu gave Bai Yinya a slap on the cheek, “How can you have the audacity to scold my sister-in-law?”

She was beside herself with rage, while Bai Weijin didn’t take it to heart at all. The latter pulled at Gu Yeyu’s sleeve with no intention of having a quarrel.

Bai Yinya used to show disrespect for Bai Weijin and her mom.

A few slaps were quite a light punishment. She would pay Bai Yinya back little by little.

Scared by Gu Yeyu’s cold stare, Bai Yinya stopped cursing. After all, members of Gu family were not easy to deal with.

But she soon forgot that.

“You seduced Zhao Lei, didn’t you? He’s my boyfriend, you cannot take him away from me!”

Zhao Lei’s heart started thumping. He gave Bai Yinya a push, “I’m not your boyfriend. Are you crazy?”

He turned away to look at Gu Yeyu, “Yeyu, don’t listen to her nonsense. She’s a lunatic.”

Bai Weijin didn’t bother to watch Zhao Lei and Bai Yinya acting.

She came up and took Gu Yeyu’s arm, “Since you have a lot to deal with, Mr. Zhao, we’ll leave you alone. Maybe we can discuss the matter later.”

She deliberately pronounced the words ‘deal with’ clearly. Zhao Lei’s brain kept functioning.

He wished Bai Weijin and Gu Yeyu could walk away as soon as possible before Bai Yinya uttered anything else that could ruin his hope.

Gu Yeyu was seething with rage all the way.

“Weijin, why do you let the bloody fool off instead of giving her a few more slaps?” asked she furiously.

Bai Weijin turned away, “Let her off? I’ll never do that.”

Gu Yeyu was confused.

“Bai Yinya became pregnant,” spoke Bai Weijin while looking down at the ground.

Gu Yeyu stamped with rage, “Pregnant? How dare Zhao Lei court me in the meanwhile?”

Bai Weijin looked back. Bai Yinya was still wrangling, and the security guards asked them to keep quiet.

“He doesn’t want the child,” explained Bai Weijin.

Gu Yeyu looked at her, perplexed.

“He kept stopping Bai Yinya from talking, for fear that she told us the truth. Now only we, Zhao Lei and Bai Yinya herself are aware of it.”

“If her pregnancy goes public, Zhao Lei will have to marry her.” It’s definitely the last thing he wants.

Bai Weijin opened the car door, and Gu Yeyu sat down on the passenger seat. Bai Weijin added, “You’re right. The child can neither be known by others nor continue to exist.”

“How heartless he is!” Gu Yeyu sighed but felt no sympathy for Bai Yinya.

“What a good match! Both of them stopped at nothing to get what they want,” said Bai Weijin.

Gu Yeyu gave a sneer.

“Then what are we gonna do?”

“Nothing but watch the dispute between them.” Bai Weijin stepped on the accelerator and drove back to Gu’s house.

Zhao Lei would do everything possible to dump Bai Yinya as long as he felt Gu Yeyu had a liking for him. Thus, they didn’t need to do anything more.

Bai Weijin made a vow as Bai Yinya and her mother drove her off.

“You’d kill me now, or I’ll make you pay one day!”

Bai Weijin went back to the company after driving Gu Yeyu home.

She drove alone.

Memories came flooding back all of a sudden. Bai Weijin gripped the steering wheel.

“Mom…” muttered she.

Strong as she was, she showed signs of weakness on thinking of her mom.

“All those who treated you, treated us badly shall pay a heavy price. No one can escape.” She whispered to herself.

In her memory, mom was always gentle and kind. Whatever she had suffered, her mother gently comforted her all the time. Yet her mother’s good acts were repaid with evil.

When her mom died on the bed, only she kept the kind lady company.

In a trance, Bai Weijin drove along the wrong lane. Somehow, she directly made a sharp turn.

The sight scared a traffic policer, especially after he saw the license plate which must be owned by an important personage.

Bai Weijin saw a car coming in her direction. The driver looked terrified, yet it was too late to apply the brakes.

Bang. Though Bai Weijin tried to turn the steering whirl, the two cars collided.

Despite the shield of the airbag, Bai Weijin was hit hard. She felt some liquid flowing from the forehead to her cheeks.

The fat traffic policer hurried over.

Then Bai Weijin lost consciousness. There was a hubbub around her—honking, whistling and shouting.

The place was in utter chaos until a man came and the crowd quieted down.

Gu Yeze stared at the traffic policer bleakly. He was so scared that the whole body came out in a cold sweat.

“Mr. Gu, your wife… drove on the wrong way in a daze and was hit by a car. Luckily, she isn’t severely injured.”

The man looked uneasy, for fear of being discharged if Gu Yeze wasn’t satisfied with his answer.

Gu Yeze strode toward the ward. The officer who almost went weak at the knees finally heaved a sigh of relief.

Bai Weijin remained unconscious.

Gu Yeze looked at her pale face that used to gleam with delight or flush with anger. He learned that she and Gu Yeyu met with Zhao Lei before, but what happened to her during that time? What distracted her when she was driving the car?

He was lost in thought when Gu Yeyu ran into the ward out of puff.

Gu Yeze turned away and give her a glare. Gu Yeyu immediately held her breath.

“Brother… How is she?”

Gu Yeyu felt very sad when Bai Weijin’s pale face met her eyes. Bai Weijin’s appearance was quite different from what it was when they parted.

Gu Yeze didn’t answer her question but asked, “What on earth happened? Why did she completely ignore the way she went?”

Gu Yeze almost growled at her. Gu Yeyu suddenly became tearful, for she’d never seen Gu Yeze lose his temper before.
