"Eh? This much...?"
At the guild's reception counter, Tio's eyes widened.
In front of her, eight large platinum coins were lined up.
"Of course. The hide of a Lesser Dragon is highly valued as material for armaments, and the meat is a luxury item."
The receptionist answered Tio, who had a surprised look on her face, with a cheerful smile.
The coins in front of her were called platinum coins, the most valuable of all coins.
There were five types of coins in total: copper, bronze, silver, gold, and platinum.
Two gold coins could support a family of four in a large city for a month.
And a platinum coin was worth ten times that... perhaps this gives you an idea of their value.
Tio was not an adventurer but had been active as a member of a hero party.
So, she was not familiar with the value of monsters. It was only natural that she was surprised.
"Miss Tio, since you're here, why don't you register as an adventurer?"
"An adventurer, huh? That might not be a bad idea..."
While responding to Iris, who was still clinging to her arm, Tio thought.
Until now, as a member of the hero party led by Ayla, her activity funds had been paid by her home country.
However, if she was to continue her journey to save the world on her own, she would need to earn her own travel funds.
Adventurers make a living by slaying monsters and selling their materials.
With the powerful EX Skill she had obtained, this profession was perfect for Tio.
"Then, I would like to register as an adventurer."
By registering as an adventurer, she would be able to take on quests issued by the guild, in addition to selling materials.
As proof of becoming an adventurer, she would receive an "Adventurer Tag," which not only indicates her adventurer rank but also serves as an ID, so there was no downside to getting one.
"Understood. Please fill out the necessary information here."
The receptionist took out a piece of parchment.
After filling out the required information and having it confirmed, the receptionist handed her a stone adventurer tag.
"So this is the adventurer tag. I believe this color indicates an E-rank, right?"
"That's correct, Miss Tio. With your skills, I'm sure you can become an S-rank adventurer!"
Iris, who was excited.
An S-rank adventurer is at the top of the six adventurer ranks.
Incidentally, the strength of adventurer ranks is considered equivalent to the monster ranks previously explained.
(Indeed, if I master the EX Skill based on the memories of my past life, I might be able to become an S-rank adventurer.)
Tio thought this in response to Iris's words.
If she was to continue her journey to save the world in her own way, she would eventually need to have that much power.
After giving a casual response to Iris, Tio stored the platinum coins in her *Black Storage* and left the guild.
"Miss Iris, I'm going back to the inn. Can you let go of me now?"
"Um... well... Ah! Which inn are you staying at, Miss Tio?"
"Inn? A cheap one in the inn district..."
Tio answered, slightly puzzled by the fact that her question had been met with another question.
When she was with Ayla and the others, they had stayed in decent inns, but since being expelled, she had been staying in cheap inns to save money.
Upon hearing this, Iris exclaimed, "That won't do!" and leaned in close to Tio.
Tio involuntarily gasped.
Iris, who could be called a peerless beauty among elves, was so close that their noses were almost touching. Just that proximity made Tio's heart race.
"It's not right for someone as strong as you to stay in a cheap inn! It will make you look unrefined, and most importantly, cheap inns have poor security!"
Iris said forcefully.
Putting aside the issue of refinement, Tio nodded in agreement regarding the security aspect.
After selling the Lesser Dragon's corpse, Tio now possessed a considerable amount of money.
The money itself was stored in her *Black Storage*, so it wasn't a problem, but many adventurers had seen her receive it at the guild.
There were many adventurers with poor behavior, and some were on the verge of being criminals.
The adventurers present had not seen Tio's strength.
If a low-ranking black mage was known to have a large sum of money, they might try to target her in some way.
It would be much better for her mental health to stay in a decent inn with good security rather than a cheap one.
"In that case! I know a good inn, come with me!"
Iris started walking, pulling Tio by the arm.
"H-Hey...!?"
Tio, though puzzled, ended up following Iris due to her strong insistence.
On the way, they heard a voice.
"Tio...?"
Tio turned to the source of the voice and saw Ayla, the female hero, and Lucius standing there.
Next to them was a carriage.
Tio remembered that Ayla's hero party was supposed to leave the city today.
"Ayla..."
Tio involuntarily called out her name.
Lucius watched the two of them with a look of disinterest.
"Miss Tio! Ignore a woman who exiled you!"
Iris glared at Ayla and started walking, pulling Tio's arm forcefully.
"H-Hey, Miss Iris...! Well, see you, Ayla! Good luck on your journey to save the world!"
Tio, flustered and pressed against the beautiful elf, left.
Ayla watched the two of them—
"Ugh...!"
—tearfully and with puffed cheeks.
