Chapter 15

Surrounding me, the adventurers waiting there were grinning and watching me.
It seems that one of the adventurers from the party that had cut in earlier had gone around and explained the situation again.
Originally, even when I didn't have any skills, I had been receiving such gazes from the Adventurer Guild.
Basically, adventurers are meritocratic. Because of this, those without strength are looked down upon and used as negative examples, with others thinking, "I don't want to be like that."
By creating beings lower than themselves, they can feel more at ease and head out on adventures.
The surrounding adventurers seemed to have no intention of giving me the prey, and they were constantly watching my movements.
The scouts of each party were positioned closer to me, ready to run and attack the moment a monster appeared.
If they were to attack first, the agile scouts would be the most suitable. I wouldn't be able to catch up and attack in time.
While waiting for the monsters to appear, I continued to wait.
The parties around me were fighting outside because monsters had appeared there, and the scouts had returned to join the battle.
In the midst of this, a monster appeared at the same distance as before.
This time, it was a single Warrior Goblin.
"Hehehe, a leader has spawned!"
The scout shouted loudly, and the adventurers stood up. The scout intended to land the first hit and claim the right to attack.
"Hah! Giving up already? I'm the fastest among the new adventurers. No matter how much you run, it's useless!"
Believing in the scout's attack, everyone could be seen running towards me.
Just as the scout was about to catch up and stab the Warrior Goblin in the back with a short sword...
"Fire Arrow"
I took out a short staff from my pocket and five fire arrows appeared.
"What!?"
The fire arrows flew and hit the Warrior Goblin.
"Goobubububu"
I switched my equipment to a Magic Dagger and approached the Warrior Goblin.
"Y-You can use magic!?"
Ignoring the scout who was glaring and shouting, I stabbed the Warrior Goblin.
"Gofu"
Due to the damage from the Fire Arrow, the Warrior Goblin fell with a single strike.
After confirming that I still had plenty of magic power, I sheathed the Magic Dagger. I then confirmed that the corpse had been absorbed, picked up the magic stone that had fallen on the ground, and was about to return to the tree where I was stationed when...
"Wait a minute!"
I turned around to see the warrior from earlier with an angry expression.
The surrounding adventurers were also there, and they were all out of breath from running.
"I want to prepare for the next one. Do you need something?"
"Didn't you say you didn't have any skills?"
No one had said such a thing, but they had been deceived and were venting their anger at me.
They must have run uselessly to try to take the monster from me.
I smiled confidently and told the warrior:
"I recently acquired a skill, thanks to which I can now defeat Kobolds."
I showed him the silver plate around my neck.
"If you apologize, I don't mind settling this here and now."
I suggested this as a consideration for a junior, thinking that they had realized it was impossible to monopolize after seeing my magic.
"Hah! You only took one Warrior Goblin! Even with a mediocre short sword and magic, there's a limit to what you can do alone! You can't handle multiple spawns!"
He shouted at his companions, "Let's go back!" and they returned to their position.
I watched them leave and then manipulated my status.
After waiting for a while, monsters spawned in a different direction. This time, it was a Warrior Goblin and a Warrior Kobold.
"Don't let him take them!!!"
The warrior, with bloodshot eyes, shouted desperately. Despite the considerable distance, his voice seemed to have reached the other side.
The scouts started more quickly this time...
"Ice Arrow"
This time, five ice arrows floated up and headed towards the two monsters.
"Goofun!?"
The scouts stopped immediately after I hit them. Since I had claimed the right, I drew my Magic Dagger and slowly approached.
I then easily cut down the two already injured monsters and returned to my original position.
"Damn it! If he uses ranged attacks, we'll use them too!"
The warrior, his face red with anger, shouted.
The mage who had been waiting until now was now positioned.
"I think it's useless..."
I sighed and fiddled with the status screen in front of me.
"Spawned! Absolutely take it down!"
While this was happening, monsters started spawning in a different direction.
The mage readied his staff, and I also prepared my magic.
"Ha! Fire Arrow"
"Rock Shot"
The fire arrow produced by the other side was only one, with no power, speed, or accuracy, and it missed the monster and disappeared after a short distance.
However, all the arrows I fired hit the monsters directly.
"Damn it! Why did you miss the attack!?"
"It's impossible! To hit that distance accurately!"
The strength of a mage can be determined by the number of arrows they can produce. That mage must have had a low skill level, apparently only able to use 'Fire Arrow Level 1'.
Moreover, hitting a target with magic requires 'dexterity,' which a novice mage likely doesn't have a high enough value for.
I didn't feel like I would lose in a contest of hitting the target.
"In that case, rules don't matter! We'll hit them when they're weakened by his magic!"
He started saying ridiculous things.
"Alright, it's done."
When I closed the status screen...
"Th-They're all coming at once!"
A large number of monsters spawned in all directions. The parties that had been surrounding us charged forward with bloodshot eyes, but...
"Fire Arrow, Ice Arrow, Wind Arrow, Rock Shot"
"Wh-Wh-Wh-Wh-What!?"
I fired different spells in all directions in quick succession.
"Don't hesitate! At least take the stop!"
In response to the male warrior's instructions, I...
"Unfortunately, they're already dead."
I killed all the spawned monsters with a single spell.
