Chapter 3

"Roar!!!"

The ones charging in with a roar were a group of Ogres.

With their muscular bodies and terrifying faces, they were tough opponents the first time I fought them. But,

"Alright..."

I slash them down as I pass by.

They are indeed durable, but once their heads are cut off, they can no longer move, and they don’t have any special abilities.

Among the monsters in the deeper layers, they are considered weak.

"Taking down an Ogre in one hit? No way!"

"Ogres are A-rank monsters, right?"

"Killing them so easily, I can't help but laugh. Is this guy really a strong monster?"

"A-rank explorers struggle with them too, as they use weapons and have intelligence, making them troublesome monsters..."

"Is this video edited? There's no way this is real."

"I came from the bulletin board."

"Black Dog Guild, you have such an amazing explorer!? Crazy!"

"…Man, you guys are really persistent with the calls today. I’m in the middle of work, you know."

I shifted my attention from the vibrating smartphone and focused on a different monster.

There, a monster resembling a giant chameleon, a Basilisk, was standing.

The Basilisk puffed out its throat while looking at me.

"This is a Basilisk!? I’ve never seen one before!"

"Ogres appear in the lower layers, but this one only appears in the deeper layers."

"Pretty rare. Videos of live ones don’t circulate much."

"It looks scary. I could never be an explorer."

"Even if you became one, you wouldn’t come to the deeper layers, so don’t worry."

"More importantly, it’s about to use its petrifying breath! If you don’t avoid it, you’ll die!"

"Over 5 million concurrent viewers, I can’t help but laugh. This is a rare event."

The Basilisk swung its head forward, trying to breathe on me.

Its breath has the effect of turning the target to stone. If that happens, you become unable to fight. If you have companions, they can heal you with items, but I, being a solo explorer, don’t have any companions.

So, I decide to end it before it can use its breath.

"Right there!"

At the moment the Basilisk breathes, I thrust my sword into the slightly lower part of its puffed throat.

The Basilisk dies instantly without even opening its mouth, falling to the ground.

"Not many people know, but the Basilisk’s weak point is right here. If the spot is even a little off, the petrifying breath will be scattered around."

"I didn’t know that."

"Not many people know, or rather, no one knows?"

"How many Basilisks has this guy hunted...?"

"I’m starting to get used to the lack of visible movement."

"Amazing! Who is he? Is he a famous explorer? (English)"

"Even foreigners are starting to show up."

"It seems to have been spread by overseas streamers, saying 'A real samurai has appeared in Japan.'"

"Got it. That’s why there are over 10 million concurrent viewers."

"If he’s this strong, I can understand why he’s given such a high quota... No, I still don’t get it. The Black Dog Guild must be crazy."

The smartphone continued to vibrate even as I fought.

Today, they are being even more persistent than usual… I’ll ignore them, of course, because I’ll just get scolded if I answer.

"Roar!!!"

A roar that shook the dungeon echoed.

The source of the sound was a Tyrant Dragon, a super-giant dragon with brown scales.

Its danger level is a proud 'S'. It has dozens of times the durability and attack power of an Ogre and can breathe super-high-temperature breath that can melt iron, making it a formidable enemy.

"What is this dragon? It’s too big!"

"Hey, hey, hey. He’s going to die."

"【Sad News】Mysterious swordsman dies."

"Is this a Tyrant Dragon!? No way! Even an S-rank party might not be able to defeat it!"

"Please, run away!"

"50 million concurrent viewers!? This is a festival!"
