Chapter 20

2 min read574 wordsMature

It was an ordinary night seven days ago. The moon was full as dim white moon fell on the concrete floor lighting the equally dim road.

This villa was located in the suburbs far away from the heart of the city that it was hard to see the city’s bright lights and bustling scene. A few lights lit the place while only the cicadas can be heard amidst the silence.

This was a perfect place to have a secret rendezvous with a lover. This was also a perfect place to commit murder. Isn’t it?

I followed my husband here. I read my husband’s and the childhood sweetheart’s chat messages. It seems they had planned to spend a ‘wonderful’ evening here tonight…or so they thought.

Today, I put an excess of the drug on my husband’s food and then looked for an excuse to take his medicine bottle. Apparently he was in a hurry to meet with the childhood sweetheart, that he didn’t even seem suspicious of me.

When he drove off, I also drove a car to follow him. Midway, he seemed to have noticed the car I was driving, and he deliberately went around to shake me off. However, that wasn’t useful because I already knew where he was driving to.

In fact, I have been to this villa many times already. This was where my husband and I spent our honeymoon. I still remember us arguing when we came here. The next morning, I saw the warm sunlight peeking through the fog.

But this place was unexpectedly turned into a haven for their affair.

I parked my car on the roadside and used the moonlight to get a good look at the scene. My husband parked his car, tucked his hands into his pockets and entered the villa. Then the lights on the first floor of the villa turned on. Following that, another crimson sports car stopped at the villa’s gate and the childhood sweetheart got out. Just like a predicted, he was carrying a bag of fruit in his hand.

I estimated that my chances of success this time would be about 81.1%.

For a while I observed their figures on the first floor of the villa as if they were discussing something. Next my husband appeared to approach him for sex. Consequently, they turned off the lights in the first floor and went to the second floor.

When the light on the second floor had been on for quite a while, I took something, got off the car and used my spare key to open the door and go in. The room was dark, so I turned on the flashlight. I especially shined it on the table and found out that my husband had already eaten the fruit.

There was a big possibility that I succeeded. I thought.

I turned off the flashlight and headed towards the second floor. I tried my best to make as little noise as possible, but it didn’t seem to matter as the sound of their colliding bodies in the middle of sex completely overshadowed the sound of my steps.

I finally found the room where they were having sex and watched them quietly from the door.
