There was only one lamp inside the room, and it was beside the bed. Its dim yellow [1] light seemingly intensifying their desires.
They were really fierce. The ‘pa pa pa’ sound of their slapping bodies echoed in my ears. I heard my husband’s pants increasingly quicken. It was like he was gradually being strangled, slowly losing his ability to breathe air.
I heard him give out his final gasp followed by a prolonged moan from the childhood sweetheart. I saw him kick my husband’s leg after the bliss of climax as if wanting him to come again.
However, my husband didn’t respond. He was probably already dead.
So, I took out and wore a pair of plastic gloves, then lightly closed the door of the room locking it with my key. From inside the room, I could hear the childhood sweetheart enticing my husband. He seemed to be teasing him by saying he wasn’t capable of doing it for another round.
Afterwards the sound of a heavy object falling to the ground came from inside the room. It was quite loud. It apparently startled the cicadas outside the door as everything became silent. The childhood sweetheart muttered incredulously, “How could…” His voice shook as if suppressing his fright, “How…How could…”
I think the childhood sweetheart should have checked if my husband was still breathing.
Following that, I heard his hysterical scream. It was like a robin crying for help before being choked. I was an unpleasant crow.
I slowly walked to the window at the side of the room to look at them.
The room they chose was located in the inner part of the house with the windows also facing the inside. The only open window was very small. This was because my husband was quite superstitious and believed that large windows would make the money fly out if they used it to decorate.
It was probably impossible to climb out of it based on the child hoot sweetheart’s figure.
I walked over, turned on my flashlight, shined it inside the room and carelessly knocked on the window’s glass. The thumping noise as I knocked on the window soon attracted the attention of the childhood sweetheart. At first, he seemed to be frightened by the flashlight’s glare but then he immediately reacted, staggering crazily towards the window. He used his sharp nails to scratch against the glass producing a sharp ‘screeching’ noise.
His voice sounded a bit distorted from across the glass as the childhood sweetheart shrieked: “It’s you…! You’re the one who did this!”
I stood there, calmly watching him.
Tears flowed down his beautiful and alluring face. At the moment, he looked as pale as a ghost. “IT wasn’t me…” he softly murmured, “It was you…! You killed him!”
“Oh” I smiled “Yes, it was me.”
