I know the childhood sweetheart won’t be able to escape.
The location of the villa was so remote that there wasn’t any signal. After all this was a place for our honeymoon vacation. We wouldn’t want to be disturbed. At that time, my husband and I spent nearly about a month here without any contact from the outside world.
My husband probably didn’t think that this would be an excellent place to commit a murder and hide a body.
Only, he must have already sank into eternal rest. I really should draw a cross for him. Hard to say, he may have become moldy when the police finally find him. This was such a hot weather after all, I thought.
I couldn’t the smile that crept on my lips. I found out from the car’s window that the angle of my lips was raised. I took a deep breath to calm my excited mood.
I should find a way to avoid the surveillance down the road and also find someone to confirm my alibi. I quickly thought of my editor friend B. I called him to ask about the movie and he was very happy to invite me into his house for tea.
I can be considered to be pretty familiar with the area around here. I soon drove over to my editor friend B’s neighborhood. I found him standing at the gates of his neighborhood waiting for me. He told me that he was afraid I wouldn’t be able to find the way. B took me to their house. He looked really happy. Usually, his pace would be like a normal adult, now, he obviously slowed down his steps and his words began to increase.
I told him I was here to talk about the movie.
B pretended to be surprised, gasping an ‘Oh” and said, “The film was really popular, afterall I was based on your novel.”
“Ah…it is?” i I replied, “My husband surely must be happy. He had been worrying a lot about the company before.”
B’s footsteps stopped for a moment and he turned to me and asked, “Is your husband really worried about the company’s affairs or about his little mistress?”
I shook my head in silence, He must still think that I didn’t know about that while in fact I was thinking that my husband wouldn’t be worried anymore. He can only smile.
My editor friend stood in place, and he called my name softly, “If you still won’t believe it, I couldn’t do anything about it. But, I will wait.”
He bitterly smiled, mouthing, “What is another ten years of waiting for you?”
“ ….You’re sappy” I stated.
He chuckled and replied, “Maybe.”
