Chapter 24

Editor B’s room was really neat. Just like any single bachelor, he had a fabric sofa in the middle of the living room and a bowl on the coffee table that had the fruits of the season. He saw me glancing at the bowl and said to me with a smile, “Feel free to eat some.”

I shook my head and refused his good intentions.

He then immediately took out the film and played it. He went to the side of the sofa, sat down and also invited me to sit. The film was an old-fashioned horror film that was made a long time ago and at the end of it was the rise of a mentally disordered person. B asked me my thoughts on the movie, I replied, “It’s kinda boring.”

“Indeed.” B agreed, “Your work will certainly be much better than this.”

“ ….Don’t think so highly of me.” I admonished.

“What happened to the two robins?” He suddenly changed the topic.

I sighed, “One’s already dead while the other doesn’t have much time to live.”

“What a pity” He smiled.

That night, I stayed over in the room with him. We talked about the movie, about university…continuously up until dawn to when I finally left.

I then went home and started dealing with suspicious items I might have. I scraped off the label of the medicine box and chucked it into the sewers, disposed of the surveillance equipment in the house, and smashed the signal receiver of the locator on my husband’s body. I have to say that the smashing this thing made a lot of noise but no one complained about it.

There were also the purchase records of buying Drug C. I had used my husband’s account to pay for it and had it delivered to a hotel. I still had some Drug C on hand and I think it may probably come in handy.

….

After handling the remaining drugs, my husband’s brother A called. He sounded very gentle asking if I was free tonight. My husband’s parents wanted to have dinner with us.

What a strange request , I think.

I told him that my husband apparently had to go out because of something in a movie. He didn’t answer my calls so he probably didn’t have time to have a dinner together.

A’s voice stopped for a few second and he asked: “Do you know who he went out with?”

I answered: “I don’t know. He doesn’t like me interfering too much in his affairs.”

A let out an ‘Oh’ and said, “So it’s like that. It doesn’t matter, you can come by yourself.”

I shrugged and hanged up. It seemed like I really had to go. To be honest, I don’t actually like my husband’s parents. They were too noisy.

Before I went there, I slept first. And as I was sleeping, I heard the doorbell ring.

T/N: Welp. This was an abrupt transition from the previous chapter. Also I never mentioned to you guys something I inferred from MC’s plan. So that childhood sweetheart was supposed to eat the husband right? But after a few days the meat would go bad without proper storage…so how is that guy going to survive? Eating rotten flesh and drinking coagulated blood? Won’t he be poisoned before he is found by the police? Dead humans rot guys. It rots in about a few days to a week. How the human body decomposes isn’t a pretty thing… Welp, all the science in my brain has got me thinking about it. Would like to hear your thoughts on it too! I see some comments now and that genuinely makes me happy! Thank you!
