The usually quiet villa had so many guests all of a sudden–the accommodation will inevitably be a bit tight.

Qin Xueyue was a girl, so she naturally had her own room.

There was another guest room that had a large suite with a large double bed in its inner room, and the sofa in the outer room could be flattened out to make a single bed.

Ren Yuchang originally wanted Ren Jingyuan to give up his room to Chen Hailan and put up another small bed for Ren Jingyuan. Therefore, Yang Youming and Xia Xingcheng could sleep in the suite.

Yet Chen Hailan put his hand on Yang Youming’s shoulder and said, “There’s no need for Jingyuan to move, I’ll just sleep in the big bed with Youming. It’s not like we’ve never slept in the same bed before.”

Xia Xingcheng was stunned when he heard this and looked towards Yang Youming.

Yang Youming smiled and said, “Sure, so Jingyuan won’t have to move.”

Even though his heart knew that Yang Youming was just being polite, Xia Xingcheng was still faintly disappointed. He had thought that he would’ve been able to still stay in a room alone with Yang Youming on their last night.

Chen Hailan was rarely this stubborn, but he had drunk a little wine, and no matter what Ren Yuchang said, he insisted on sharing a room with Yang Youming, saying that he wanted to chat with him at night. Therefore, the host no longer persisted.

Afterwards, Yang Youming and Chen Hailan went upstairs to their room first. Xia Xingcheng stayed behind to accompany Ren Jingyuan, Qin Xueyue, and the others. They drank two more bottles of beer before they went back to their respective rooms to rest.

The outer room’s door was unlocked. Xia Xingcheng opened the door and went in to see that his small bed had already been made, the blanket seeming soft and warm. The rooms were separated by a sliding glass door, and he walked through the open door and saw that the furnishings inside were that of an ordinary room, with a queen-sized bed in the middle that was perfectly enough for two men to sleep in.

Further inside was a balcony, and the same sliding glass door separated it from the room, yet this door was closed. Yang Youming and Chen Hailan weren’t in the room–they were standing around and chatting on the balcony in their down jackets.

Xia Xingcheng hesitated for a moment before he put on his jacket, opened the door, and walked out.

The moment he opened the door, the biting cold air assaulted his face. Hearing Chen Hailan’s last two words “Yuan Jian…”, Xia Xingcheng stopped in his tracks.

He turned back to close the sliding door, cutting off the warmth from the room. He wrapped his down jacket around himself, then heard Chen Hailan call out to him, “Xingcheng, come quickly.”

Chen Hailan was such a person. He was kind to everyone, and interacting with him made people feel comfortable from the bottom of their hearts.

Yang Youming didn’t say anything. He simply leaned on the balcony railing as he calmly watched Xia Xingcheng.

Xia Xingcheng walked towards them, looked between Chen Hailan and Yang Youming, and said, “It’s so cold out here, why don’t you come in?”

Chen Hailan said, “I feel stuffy after staying inside for a long time, so I came out for some fresh air.” He then asked Xia Xingcheng, “Have you eaten yet?”

Xia Xingcheng nodded, “Mm.”

“Zip up your jacket,” Yang Youming spoke somewhat abruptly, and when Chen Hailan and Xia Xingcheng looked over at the same time, he flatly added, “It’s too cold, be careful of catching a cold.”

Xia Xingcheng lowered his head and zipped up his down jacket as he said, “Thank you, Ming ge.”

It was already completely dark out. Only an uneven silhouette of the mountains could be seen in the distance. There was no wind tonight, and the surrounding area was quiet. Nothing could be heard except for the occasional noise coming from the direction of the first floor kitchen.

Xia Xingcheng’s face and hands quickly grew ice-cold.

Chen Hailan said softly, “I remember when we filmed ‘Leisurely Vacation’. We also stayed in a calm and peaceful place everyday. That was when I first met Xingcheng. At that time, I thought this kid was a little depressed.”

“Depressed?” Xia Xingcheng was stunned, not expecting Chen Hailan to describe him this way.

Chen Hailan said, “That’s right. At that time, you said that your movie had just wrapped up. I often saw you sitting quietly by yourself, and you didn’t talk either. I didn’t know what you were thinking, so I took the initiative to go and talk to you.”

Xia Xingcheng watched him as he spoke, then noticed that Yang Youming was also staring at Chen Hailan.

Chen Hailan continued, “It’s different this time, you’re a lot more lively.”

Yang Youming said in a quiet voice, “He’d just finished filming then.”

Chen Hailan looked at him, not quite understanding.

Yang Youming shot a glance at Xia Xingcheng, then continued, “He was still in character and hadn’t gotten out yet.”

Chen Hailan immediately nodded as if he understood. He said, “So that’s how it is. I’m quite curious about that movie of yours after you guys said that, did it end badly?”

It had been a long time since anyone mentioned ‘Gradual Distance’ to Xia Xingcheng, and he was abruptly dragged back to the movie’s ending by Chen Hailan. His heart immediately sank, and the painful emotions of helpless despair rose up again, so he kept his head down and didn’t speak.

Yang Youming said, “I’ll invite you to watch it sometime, you’ll know when you see it.”

Chen Hailan laughed and said, “It’s a deal, we’ll go see it together then.” He then said, “I’m going to take a shower first. It’s too cold outside, so you guys should go in as well.”

Yang Youming said, “Go ahead, we’ll stay for a while.”

Xia Xingcheng didn’t speak. He looked over his shoulder and saw Chen Hailan open the door and enter the room, then closed the door again. Separated by a glass door, the sounds from the room grew muted. He could only see Chen Hailan pick up a clean nightgown from the bed and walk towards the bathroom in the outer room.

The moment Chen Hailan stepped into the bathroom and closed the door, Xia Xingcheng took a step forward and hugged Yang Youming, who had already been waiting with open arms.

Yang Youming hugged Xia Xingcheng tightly and kissed his forehead, saying, “Why are you unhappy?”

Xia Xingcheng’s voice was muffled, “It’s our last night today.”

Yang Youming chuckled, his chest shaking faintly, “It’s not like we can’t meet when we get back.”

Xia Xingcheng didn’t speak. He still had some feelings he didn’t want to reveal. He had always felt that Fang Jiangyuan was already doomed to be unable to stay with Yu Haiyang–but he was different. At least, at this very moment, he could firmly hold Yang Youming in his arms.

Yang Youming caressed Xia Xingcheng’s frosty flushed face.

Xia Xingcheng leaned up and kissed Yang Youming’s lips hard.

In the cold, only the other person’s breath and body were burning hot. Xia Xingcheng tried his utmost to take his claim. He felt Yang Youming’s kisses deepening, getting more and more intense, one of his hands embraced his waist, and the other firmly pressed against his nape, leaving him no room to retreat.

There was nothing more Xia Xingcheng wished to do than tear the clothes off Yang Youming’s body right then and there, but they didn’t have the time or space, so they could only use kisses to relieve the intense possessive lust.

An unknown time later, Xia Xingcheng heard a very light clicking sound. If the surroundings hadn’t been too quiet, and he hadn’t been so tense, he probably wouldn’t have been able to catch such a small sound, but he knew that Chen Hailan had just come out after he finished showering.

His eyes widened. If Chen Hailan came out, it would only take him a single glance to figure out what they were doing on the balcony.

And yet Yang Youming didn’t let go of him, hugging him and taking two steps back to hide in the corner of the balcony instead.

Xia Xingcheng saw Yang Youming raising his eyes at the glass door as he kissed him. With his back to the door, he couldn’t see anything from this angle, and could only rely on Yang Youming completely. His heart was pounding so hard that his breathing grew rough.

Yang Youming rubbed his earlobe with his fingers.

Xia Xingcheng’s fingers gripped at Yang Youming’s sleeve.

Suddenly, Yang Youming let go of him and whispered, “He’s here.”

Xia Xingcheng’s entire body grew weak at once. He turned around to lean on the balcony railings, his heart still beating incessantly from excitement and nerves. Lowering his head, he buried his face in his arms and gasped heavily.

Immediately after, he heard the sliding door behind him opening up. Chen Hailan stood in the doorway and said to them, “Hurry and come in or you’ll catch a cold later.”

He felt Yang Youming press his hand on his shoulder then. In a calm tone, the man slowly said, “Go inside, Xingcheng.”
