"Was it because my gesture of slamming the cup wasn't cool enough?"

"Or was it because my calm and composed expression wasn't vivid enough?"

"Perhaps—she never really entered my heart, nor did she understand my沧桑 (沧桑 means '沧桑' which can be translated as 'weathered' or 'worldly')!"

Tang Huan drove the second-hand Santana, one hand loosely resting on the steering wheel, idly waiting for the red light.

Delete the kissing scene?

That wasn't something Tang Huan could decide.

But Han Qinghe had made up her mind, and there seemed to be no room for negotiation.

Tang Huan felt a bit regretful, but he also knew that this was an impossible task. Despite his best efforts, the result was still a failure.

However, this trip wasn't entirely in vain. At the very least, Han Qinghe promised to grant Shengtian some operational rights. This meant that for certain commercial activities that Han Qinghe didn't particularly want to attend, as long as they were related to music, she could show up.

And just this so-called face, for Shengtian, probably meant tens of millions in annual revenue.

His mood wasn't low, but it certainly wasn't great either. After all, he had hit Mo Lin's bodyguard, which thoroughly offended this young master in the industry. Whether the other party would report it and whether he could still keep his job were both uncertain.

"Ah, Huan Huan, Huan Huan, I told you long ago not to be impulsive, to be restrained. Even if you exude nobility and are incomparably charming, can't you be a bit more low-key when under someone else's roof?"

Tang Huan lit a cigarette, and the phone rang.

It was his beautiful boss, Liu Mingzhu, calling.

It was only three in the afternoon, clearly not to invite him home for an underwear show, but to ask about work.

"Could it be that Mo Lin has already reported the incident to Shengtian, and Liu Mingzhu is going to take the fall for me?"

Thinking this, Brother Huan felt extremely annoyed. He let the deadly ringtone keep ringing but didn't answer.

After a while, the call automatically disconnected. But after two more intersections, the phone rang again.

Tang Huan was about to turn it off, but a glance at the caller ID showed it was someone else, an old acquaintance.

Exhaling a thick puff of smoke, Tang Huan answered the call.

"Hello."

The voice on the other end sounded relaxed but carried genuine emotion.

Just from the voice, one could tell the person was quite old.

"What do you want from me in broad daylight? Don't you have to work?" Tang Huan said irritably.

"Work? A bunch of unambitious young whelps, just looking at them makes me angry," the person on the other end complained. "When are you coming back to help me? You're the only one left from the first batch. Do you really plan to waste your youth out there?"

"Waste my youth?" Tang Huan was immediately displeased, almost jumping up. "Mixing with you is a waste of my youth! Now I rinse my mouth with fish maw, drink Lafite to whet my appetite. I eat air-freighted delicacies, drink nectar. I'm surrounded by beautiful women, living a carefree life. Go back to your shabby base to sleep on an iron bed and eat communal meals? Old Zhu, you've already ruined half my life, and you still don't plan to let me go?"

The person on the other end was silent for a moment. After a long pause, the voice spoke again: "I know you're upset, and I didn't handle that matter well—"

Pausing, Old Zhu continued: "My door is always open to you. Whenever you're ready to come back, my position is yours."

"Bye."

Tang Huan hung up the call. His gaze was dark and somewhat violent, a stark contrast to his usual flamboyant demeanor.

...

In the car, Mo Lin's face was ashen, tightly gripping a glass of red wine and drinking it all in one go.

"Why?" Mo Lin demanded of his military bodyguard.

He had a bandage on his forehead, just a superficial injury, not worth a trip to the hospital for the bodyguard.

"I'm not his match," the bodyguard shook his head solemnly.

"You could have ganged up on him," Mo Lin didn't care about so-called rules. As long as they could take down the enemy, ten against one was fine.

"Even then, we might not have won," the bodyguard pursed his lips.

"Is that kid really that strong?" Mo Lin didn't believe it.

In terms of height, he was shorter than his bodyguard.

In terms of build, he didn't think Tang Huan was particularly muscular.

In Mo Lin's view, one punch from the bodyguard could have shattered Tang Huan's old face.

The bodyguard smiled bitterly. "If I'm not mistaken, he was also a soldier, and not an ordinary one."

"How can you tell?" Mo Lin asked curiously.

"He said something. Don't touch his shoulder lightly," the bodyguard said bitterly. "When I was undergoing special forces training, the instructor said the same thing."

The bodyguard had left the military in regret because he didn't make it into the special forces.

But just now, in Han Qinghe's studio, he had likely encountered a former special forces member.

Mo Lin sneered. "No matter how strong he is, can he take on three or five, or ten people?"

The bodyguard opened his mouth but said nothing.

"He will pay a bloody price," Mo Lin said coldly. "In Bai Cheng, no one dares to defy me!"

...

Tang Huan aimlessly cruised the streets. When the old car was almost out of gas, he slowly drove into the neighborhood parking lot. He didn't rush home but headed straight for the nearby bar district.

Going home would only lead to a barrage of questions from Liu Mingzhu. Might as well get something to eat and get drunk first.

Life is short, enjoy it while you can. Tang Huan wasn't the type to be gloomy. Even death couldn't shake him, let alone just a work problem.

"You look quite manly when you're tense."

A seductive female voice suddenly sounded in his ear.

The voice was magnetic, like a radio host. In the dimly lit bar, it was enough to stir the hormones of most men.

Tang Huan raised his eyes slightly and looked at the woman who had sat down next to him.

Black tight dress. Crimson lipstick. Alluring eyes. And the scent of perfume. Every detail was a fatal attraction.

She held a cocktail in her hand, sitting in a seductive pose, exuding a strong sense of mystery.

"Xiang Jie, are you here to inspect the place again?" Tang Huan lit a cigarette and said casually.

"If you didn't come to this place so often, I might have forgotten that it's under my name," the woman called Xiang Jie said with a grand tone, but it was the truth.

Tang Huan didn't fully understand Xiang Jie's background, but a woman as outstanding as her had never been approached by anyone in the bar. Even a glance seemed to fear being torn to pieces.

This was enough to prove Xiang Jie's powerful background.

"How about giving it to me? Let me experience the taste of being a boss," Tang Huan joked.

"As long as you want it, the other three bars and two KTVs on this street, I'll give them all to you," Xiang Jie said with a seductive smile.

Tang Huan didn't believe in such good fortune, even if it were real, he wouldn't take it. He raised his glass and drank with Xiang Jie: "I'm just a small employee, I can't shoulder such a heavy burden. Xiang Jie, don't tease me."

"I do want to tease you," Xiang Jie said seductively. "But you never give me the chance."

Pausing slightly, Xiang Jie suddenly draped a snow-white arm over Tang Huan's shoulder. "If you can't shoulder the burden, how about this body of Xiang Jie's?"

The soft, fragrant body leaned against him, warm and smooth.
