Chapter 8

The young man's attitude was very tough, and his eyes were even more disdainful.
His behavior thoroughly enraged Deng Ming, who had thrown the bottle.
Without a word, Deng Ming lunged forward in one swift move. Swinging his sandbag-sized fist, he struck out with all his might.
Judging from the movement alone, Deng Ming's punch was very professional and had enough destructive power. If an ordinary person faced this punch, those with quick reflexes could dodge it. Those with slower reactions would likely fall to the ground with a thud.
As a top student at a sports school, the young man had been passionate about martial arts since childhood and had studied under several renowned masters after college. Although his skills were not brutal or aggressive, it was no easy task for three to five strong men to defeat him.
Therefore, Deng Ming's punch did not achieve the desired effect. Instead, the young man countered with a left whip kick, forcing him back.
The pain from blocking the punch was nothing compared to the blow to his confidence.
Enraged, Deng Ming pounced like a hungry tiger, aiming to end the fight quickly.
Perhaps due to his haste or genuine inferiority in skill, he was finally tripped by the young man's agile move and fell in an awkward position.
As soon as Deng Ming fell, the scene erupted in thunderous applause. The college students cheered and celebrated as if the young man had won a world combat championship, raising their cups in excitement.
The onlookers whispered to each other, secretly marveling that one should never judge a book by its cover. Who said that a handsome person couldn't fight?
Every reaction from the crowd felt like a ruthless knife, piercing deeply into Deng Ming's heart. He was devastated, wishing he could shoot the young man. His eyes were filled with such malice, as if he had been betrayed and his entire family executed overnight.
"What a dramatic plot twist." Tang Huan took a sip of wine and smiled with interest.
"Do you think he should have won?" Long Xiang raised her fair hand and pointed at Deng Ming, whose face was ashen.
"At first, that's what I thought." Tang Huan nodded.
But the moment the young man made his move, he knew he had misjudged.
This young man indeed had some skills. At least, Deng Ming was no match for him.
"What about now?" There was a hint of appraisal in Long Xiang's alluring eyes.
"Of course, we should continue to watch the show." Tang Huan took another sip of wine, swirled his empty glass. "Sister Xiang, no more wine."
Long Xiang smiled seductively and refilled his glass.
Deng Ming returned to his booth, his gaze burning as he looked at the young man in the main seat. The man had a bronze complexion, sharp and deep-set features. Despite wearing a suit, his explosive muscles were still evident.
His knuckles were calloused, and the skin on his palm and index finger was so thick that even a knife couldn't cut through it.
Such calluses couldn't be formed by just carrying bags or bricks. As the leader of the group, after enduring the humiliation, Deng Ming felt it was his duty to step forward.
"Captain, I..."
Deng Ming felt wronged and embarrassed.
Unable to defeat a college student who had just turned adult, he felt utterly humiliated.
"It's not your fault." The captain put down his wine glass and slowly stood up.
He exuded an unbreakable aura, like a steel blade, sharp and lethal.
But as he walked toward the young man, the latter couldn't resist taunting, "A tag team? How shameless."
This sentence was particularly grating to the captain's ears. However, Tang Huan couldn't help but give the young man a thumbs up.
The captain's strength was clearly several levels above Deng Ming's. Could the young man handle him? It was hard to say.
The young man probably realized this as well.
So he used a few verbal jabs to unsettle the captain and then looked for the perfect opportunity to strike.
With his looks, brains, and skills, Brother Huan touched his somewhat rough face and suddenly felt a twinge of envy.
"Apologize to my brother, and I'll consider it nothing happened." The captain's expression remained unchanged, his face resolute.
He knew the young man would never apologize in public. It would be more unbearable than being beaten into a pulp.
"Ha!" The young man glanced at the captain. "I don't think you're a good bunch. Want me to apologize? Sure, call me dad first."
If the captain hadn't taken the young man's previous verbal provocations to heart, this insulting remark completely enraged him.
Without hesitation, he lunged forward, his body leaning forward to collide with the young man's chest.
Simple and brutal, but highly effective.
The captain's collision was so powerful that it sent the young man flying. He staggered several steps before regaining his balance.
But this single blow made the young man's face turn pale. His chest felt as if it were churning with hot blood, causing him great discomfort.
He knew he was no match for the captain. But to admit defeat was out of the question.
His gang of friends were watching. If he backed down, how could he maintain his status as the leader?
When the captain charged again, the young man mustered all his skills to counter. But within seconds, he was once again thrown to the ground, losing all his dignity.
"Apologize." The captain's face was expressionless, his eyes cold as he looked at the young man.
Everyone knew that the captain's motive for attacking was to make the young man apologize. In fact, the young man had been in the wrong from the start. At least he had cursed.
So the captain had ample reason to act. Even now, people were not taking sides, and there was no sympathy for the underdog.
"I'll apologize to your mother!" The young man spat and was ready to fight again. The captain, however, shook his head mockingly. "Your temper and ability are not in proportion."
"Let me be bold and say, your temper and ability are also not in proportion."
As he spoke, Tang Huan appeared on the arena, seemingly out of nowhere.
He was dressed in a slightly new suit, looking like a white-collar worker earning five thousand a month. Perhaps the suit was a size too big, making his frame appear somewhat weak. His not-so-handsome face was filled with an exaggerated smile.
He didn't look like a reclusive martial arts master at all.
"Looking for trouble?" The captain glanced at Tang Huan, his expression unfriendly.
"Bullying a student isn't right. Picking on someone smaller is indeed shameless." Tang Huan glanced back at the young man, who was somewhat dazed. "I agree with you, he is shameless."
The young man grinned, but the pain in his body made him wince. Instantly, he felt a surge of goodwill toward Tang Huan. If the situation allowed, he would definitely have a drink with him.
"Though we've never met, I feel a sense of familiarity. Little brother, if you don't mind my lack of good looks, I'll help you with this." Tang Huan joked. "But you owe me a drink later."
"No problem!" The young man waved his hand.
Tang Huan's offer didn't make him feel embarrassed. The joke gave him a good way out.
"You must be tired of living!" No matter how good the captain's mental fortitude was, Tang Huan's interference made him inexplicably irritable. He said coldly, "Get out of here immediately, or don't blame me for being impolite!"
"Put away your adventurous spirit!" Tang Huan narrowed his eyes. "You're being very dangerous."
