Chapter 14: The Destined Confession Still had to Happen

HeJin rushed into his room and slammed the door shut, as if that way he could isolate the messy and ambiguous thoughts in his heart. After leaving the space where DuYan was, HeJin felt his mind calm down a bit.

He walked into the bathroom and was about to wash his face, only to realize that he was still holding a hard object in his hands.

Once HeJin looked down, he realized that it was one of the props from just now. The thing used in order to avoid pregnancy.

He threw the small box onto the sink, and muttered, "What the heck is with this!”

HeJin washed the two ridiculous blood stains under his nose, and just when he was about to go out, he saw the small box that he had thrown onto the sink.

As he thought of the embarrassing nosebleed he experienced in front of DuYan just now, HeJin became angry. He grabbed the small box that caused him this trouble and wanted to throw it into the trash can.

Just as he raised his hand, the phone in his pants pocket shook. HeJin took out his phone, and saw a message from DuYan.

As soon as he slid his finger across, DuYan's voice came out, "Don't throw away what I gave you, maybe it will come in handy at some point."

Come--Come in handy?

Just like a movie, the scenes that had barely faded in his mind, began to play again.

HeJin watched as the area under his nose that he just cleaned, began to flow two lines again.

"It's all because of auntie. Even if I’m about to take the college entrance exam, there’s no need to take all those supplements.” HeJin said indignantly, finally finding a reasonable excuse for his nosebleed.

***

On June 7th, the most important two days for senior high school students across the country, began.

According to DuYan's style, it was impossible for him to be like those extremely worried parents waiting outside the exam room for two days. So he just sent HeJin to the exam room in the morning and then said, “Jia you (1). I’m going to work.”

At that time, HeJin looked at all the parents who held onto their children nearby to educate them, shrugged, and cast off his thoughts as he entered the exam room. Although he felt a little disappointed at heart, he wasn’t going to use his request that DuYan owed him, to make DuYan wait for him outside the exam room.

The reason was very simple. June weather was already very hot, and HeJin couldn’t imagine what it would be like for his uncle, who basically lived in a clean and sterile world, to stand under the sun and wait for him while sweating profusely.

HeJin didn’t want to know, nor would he allow this situation to happen. That person--should be standing high above, with a dustless appearance.

At the end of the afternoon exam, HeJin and Fang Xiangxiang walked out of the school together. The two of them were very destined. They were sent to the same exam school and same classroom.

In their three years of high school, HeJin always regarded Fang Xiangxiang as a friend that was like-minded. Especially in terms of learning, they had a lot in common.

HeJin had clarified the scandals that spread in school several times, but it had no effect.

After all, high school life was too boring, and the story between HeJin and Fang Xiangxiang was too interesting.

The school demon king, for the sake of a high achieving little cutie, studied hard and made progress everyday. Within a turn of his body, he became the god of good grades. This was simply a standard idol drama.

Once people started talking, it was like the Yellow River, even if he wanted to block it, it couldn’t be blocked.

HeJin didn’t care much about what others said, but Fang Xiangxiang was shy and introverted. He was worried that this school gossip would affect his friend’s studies.

He asked for Fang Xiangxiang's opinion. If the other party minded, then they would keep a certain distance from each other in order to avoid these completely unreliable rumors.

Unexpectedly, Fang Xiangxiang said that she did not want to lose their friendship, and would try her best to not care about the rumors.

So their friendship lasted for three years like this.

DuYan stood at the entrance of the exam room and saw HeJin and Fang Xiangxiang coming out side by side, but he didn't think it was strange. The destiny between the male and female lord had always been too wonderful for words.

However, there seemed to be something off with Fang Xiangxiang's state.

Fortunately, HeJin that bear child seemed to have noticed this too, and he turned his head slightly as if to say something.

DuYan felt a bit rejoiceful at this time. Since he was afraid of the sun, he hid under a big tree nearby. The position was not very conspicuous, and it shouldn't disturb the little couple.

He hadn’t yet decided on when to head out, when he saw HeJin looking around like a husky would with the scent of meat and bones, and his eyes quickly zoned in on DuYan’s spot.

Then, this bear boy actually left the girl beside him and ran over, especially fast. When HeJin was about to stop, DuYan could still see Fang Xiangxiang's blank expression.

"Uncle, you came to pick me up!"

"En." DuYan nodded to HeJin, walked out from the shade of the tree, and led the bear child to Fang Xiangxiang's side, who had been left behind at the school gate.

DuYan didn't ask HeJin how he did on the exam, because he found that Fang Xiangxiang's condition was not right. Her face was pale, and she looked depressed.

For a student who had just walked out of the college entrance exam, depressed, there was only one obvious reason for it. That is, they didn’t perform well. Of course, DuYan at this time wouldn’t express his interest in knowing how HeJin did on the exam.

"Student Fang, are you a little uncomfortable?" DuYan asked.

Although Fang Xiangxiang was depressed and didn't want to talk, DuYan was an elder. She replied politely, "I caught a cold yesterday, but I have a little bit of a fever today.”

A fever before the exam? This plot didn’t appear in the movie, and DuYan almost instantly understood what was going on.

This was the power of the movie plot, and the self adapting ability of the dream world.

Fang Xiangxiang did not get influenced by HeJin which would have led her to under perform. Without the self adapting ability, she would have been admitted into and chosen Beicheng University.

But HeJin and Fang Xiangxiang had to become college classmates. Which would then lead to their entanglement and the latter plot, or else the dream would collapse. Therefore the self adapting ability of the dream world made Fang Xiangxiang sick on the eve of the college entrance exam, and subsequently caused her to perform worse.

After meeting Fang Xiangxiang outside the exam room that day, DuYan confirmed the future arrangements. Fang Xiangxiang should become a student of Nancheng University if there was no accident.

HeJin should also be studying in Nancheng. At that time, there would be nothing for him to worry about. Whether it was about grades or his emotions, HeJin would naturally choose Nancheng University.

DuYan also wouldn’t have to worry about any accidents that would cause HeJin and Fang Xiangxiang to not study at the same university, such as the little gege white moonlight entering the scene.

After HeJin’s affairs were settled, DuYan also began to arrange to leave Nancheng and return to the Xie Family in Beicheng.

DuYan had completed this part of the plot perfectly. The next step was to firmly carry the black pot on himself as planned, so that the relationship between HeJin and Fang Xiangxiang would have no more twists and turns.

On one side, DuYan was busy leaving Nancheng, while on the other side, HeJin was officially saying goodbye to his high school career.

After the college entrance exam, the high school seniors who returned to school went into party mode. All of them left behind the exams and results for the time being.

HeJin was currently lying on the rooftop, listening to the deafening sounds of the party below, feeling a rare sense of loss.

The iron soor rang behind him, and a girl's voice rang behind him, "HeJin, I knew you would hide here.”

HeJin didn’t look back, since he knew it was Fang Xiangxiang. He did after all share this place with Fang Xiangxiang.

Because of him, Fang Xiangxiang was bullied by those girls.

After DuYan dealt with the school matter in a tough manner, the girls that were involved in the bullying were forced to transfer. The principal also repeated orders at the school meeting, expressing the school’s attitude towards campus bullying.

So then Fang Xiangxiang fell into a rather embarrassing situation. No one bullied her anymore, but she was also unable to make close friends.

She originally was already the outsider of the school. Although Nanwai Senior High was open to the entire city, most of the students came from Nanwai Junior High, and not a lot of students from outside schools would come.

The students who went from Nanwai Junior High to Nanwai Senior High had their own circles and there was no way she could join them. Because of the little wave she created by testing into the school, and because of the big incident not long after enrolling, people started avoiding her.

On the surface, Fang Xiangxiang seemed to be focused on studying, and wasn’t worried about these things. However HeJin still felt a bit guilty towards her, since after all these things happened because of him.

One day, when Fang Xiangxiang was in a bad mood, HeJin shared this secret base with her. This was the place with the best scenery in the entire school, and when in a bad mood, this was the best place to treat his mood.

So it wasn’t surprising that Fang Xiangxiang would appear in this place.

HeJin stood up and looked back at Fang Xiangxiang, "What, you don’t want to go down there to celebrate a bit?”

Fang Xiangxiang did not answer, but raised her head, and as if she was about to make a major decision, she said, "HeJin, I like you."

HeJin was stunned. He thought that he was hallucinating because the school was too noisy.

The hardest thing to say had already been said. Fang Xiangxiang loosened her tight hold on the skirt, smiled shyly, and looked at HeJin with bright eyes, looking forward to his answer.

HeJin finally returned to his senses. Since he regarded Fang Xiangxiang as a friend. Naturally, he couldn't be as direct as rejecting girls who he didn't know. Fang Xiangxiang had a strong self-esteem. If he spoke too roughly or too direct, they might now be even friends in the future.

HeJin put his hand in the pocket of the school uniform, shrugged, and smiled, "Fang Xiangxiang, even if we’re too excited to graduate, I’m not stupid enough to be fooled by your crappy joke."

Fang Xiangxiang was a smart girl. When she heard HeJin's words, she was taken aback, and then she laughed, "It's a pity that I still can’t see you panicking or being deceived even at graduation."

HeJin saw that the situation eased, and became more relaxed, "The person who can fool me round and round has not yet been born."

Fang Xiangxiang tilted her head and said, "Oh, what if one day you are really fooled by someone miserably, what would you do then?"

"Of course I have to pay them back. I’d retaliate fiercely.” HeJin’s eyebrows rose and he put on a vicious expression, "I won’t let that person live, but I won’t let them die either…”

"Ah choo----”

At the other end of the city, a certain cold-faced workaholic sneezed out of nowhere.
