Jiang Yang was now in a comatose state, and KK couldn’t detect his mental activities. KK didn’t know whether or not the original owner’s wish was accomplished at the moment when the Jiang family changed hands. It explained things as they really were to Nie Jia, that they had no choice but to wait for Jiang Yang to wake up or simply wait for Jiang Yang to die like this.

Nie Jia didn’t care much about it, just that his mood was somewhat subtle. He didn’t expect that Gu XueYing would find someone to retaliate against Jiang Yang in this way, which almost caused him trouble.

【In fact, Gu Xueying dared to do this only after Jiang Yang thoroughly lost his ground and the ability to move his hands. He didn’t actually want to run counter to your wishes.】The system explained the reasons as he spoke.

【I know. A fall into the pit, a gain in your wit, right? In the future, I won’t place crucial stakes on others again.】Nie Jia indifferently responded to the system’s words in his mind.

The system didn’t explain excessively. It could detect Nie Jia’s state of mind and that he was a little annoyed, obviously dissatisfied with Gu XueYing acting on his own initiative. If such a collision turned Jiang Yang into a vegetable, wouldn’t it be bad for Mr. Nie’s big plan? Fortunately, Mr. Nie could now freely adjust his own abilities and their functions. Even if Jiang Yang really became a vegetable, he could be cured.

{T/N: the raws were 植物人which transliterates to plant matter human being. Translated, it becomes human vegetable or person in a vegetative state.}

But Gu Xueying’s actions clearly sounded the alarm for Nie Jia. Luckily nothing went wrong this time until after the job was done. If next time, the right to determine success or failure was given to such people, he wouldn’t even know what kind of trouble he would cause for himself.

This time, just let it go. Nie Jia looked indifferent as he thought about it. It was unlikely that this would happen next time. .

The system was originally worried that Nie Jia’s desire for control would not be conducive to his treatment of bipolar disorder, but at this moment, it was somewhat glad. Mr. Nie’s fanatical and stubborn desire for control over details was a testimony of his awakening desire and will to live, of his arduous desire to survive.

The director will be very glad to know.

Nie Jia’s and the system exchanged a few words in the spare time but the sudden sense of weightlessness made him regain his senses. Startled, he blinked his eyes a few times and saw Huo Qing holding him by his waist. He(HQ) directly hugged him(NJ) and carried him over to the washbasin and made him sit on it.

“What are you thinking so hard about?” Huo Qing slightly lowered his forehead to press against Nie Jia’s forehead. His breath, warm and mixed with the aroma of wine, instantly dispersed around Nie Jia’s face. He took off his lover’s glasses, placed them aside and tenderly gazed at Nie Jia’s gem-like eyes. He couldn’t help but kiss the bright red corner of his eyes. “Still angry at Gu XueYing for acting without asking?”

“No.” Nie Jia smiled while his cheeks turned slightly red. Both his arms were looped around the back of Huo Qing’s neck, as if they were ear to ear and temple to temple.

(T/N: to be very close)

“The things in Yue City have been dealt with. Shall we go to the Netherlands to get married?” Huo Qing said.

“Okay! Do I need to order a wedding dress for you, Mr. Huo?” Seeing Huo Qing’s handsome face well within reach, and the sticky sweetness that almost overflowed from his eyes, the unhappiness in Nie Jia’s heart suddenly vanished like smoke and dispersed like clouds.

The two of them didn’t stay lovey-dovey in the bathroom for long before Huo Qing pressed him onto the bed, and like lovers in their honeymoon period, they tumbled in the sheets for the whole night.

The incident of Jiang Yang being admitted to the hospital for first aid in a car accident spread before dawn, especially when it was learnt that Jiang Yang was drunk driving and in the wrong direction. The whole network ridiculed that everything was karma. There were even countless people thanking the perpetrator who hit Jiang Yang. Whether it’s driving under influence or going in a direction forbidden by traffic regulations; on the road, it was tantamount to intentional homicide. Fortunately, Jiang Yang was hit before he drove too far, otherwise it would be unknown who would die under Jiang Yang’s wheels.

Jiang Yang’s injury was very serious. It took a full twelve hours to rescue him. Although his life was saved, he had injured his lumbar spine. The part below his waist was completely paralyzed. Henceforth, he could only take to his bed.

Nie Jia was the first one to be informed of this news, followed by Jiang ZhaoLin.

The main responsibility for the incident was indeed Jiang Yang’s, so even though Jiang Yang was paralyzed, the perpetrator only apologized and paid some money as a part of the medical expenses, and did not have any criminal responsibility. Jiang Zhaolin could only swallow the loss.

Jiang ZhaoLin almost went crazy when he first heard that Jiang Yang was disabled. After confirming with the doctor again and again that Jiang Yang’s rehabilitation was hopeless, he surprisingly calmed down.

It didn’t take long for the government investigation team to announce the results of a thorough investigation of the Jiang’s in a high-profile manner, proving that Jiang’s did not participate in any illegal activities like money laundering or bribery of officials. The Jiang family’s dignity was restored. Many people sympathized with Jiang Yang. Such a big company had been implicated in a calamity like this due to Meng Qian.

After the Gu family rose to prominence once again, it subsidized the Jiang family the second time to take over the sovereign rights of the Pacific Cable Project. The Jiang family got rid of the unprecedented huge crisis which could topple this huge building and forcibly stabilized its state of affairs. Everything seemed to be back on track.

(T/N: 大厦 has the literal meaning – large building/mansion; but is used here figuratively in a reference to Jiang Corporation, a huge business/company)

Only, Jiang Yang was still in a coma. After his condition stabilized, Jiang ZhaoLin took Jiang Yang back home. And yet, at the same time, he brought his mistress, Xie Ya and his illegitimate son, Jiang Wenbo back to the Jiang house.

So far, Anna had looked on with cold eyes. Seeing Xie Ya leading Jiang Wenbo from the main room and entering the inner chamber, she could barely suppress the disgust rising in her chest.

(T/N: it’s a play on words. Xie Ya is called mistress/concubine. And in ancient China, mistresses/concubines had a lower status when compared to the main wife. So, the mistresses were kept in the outer courtyard/rooms/chambers while the main wife would be in the inner courtyard/chambers. Here, Xie Ya is entering the inner chambers along with her son which hints that her status has raised from that of a concubine to that of a wife. Slight spoiler: this just hints that Jiang ZhaoLin wants to divorce Anna for Xie Ya.)

Seeing with his own eyes how his eldest son, Jiang Yang would be dying sooner or later, and had not even regained consciousness yet, Jiang ZhaoLin hastily brought his illegitimate child back home and directly renounced Jiang Yang. Sure enough, just as she thought, Jiang ZhaoLin simply didn’t regard Jiang Yang as his own family.

They hadn’t even divorced yet, but he brought his mistress back home.

Such a black-hearted thing! His mind was only filled with thoughts of how to scheme against other people.

“Jiang Zhaolin, I don’t want any part of your property. Just come over and sign the divorce agreement. SuSu wants to take me vacationing abroad to celebrate my birthday. I’m only free today, so we’ll go get the certificate in the afternoon.” Anna, wearing a single grey overcoat, was sitting in the living room, drinking tea. Her demeanor was elegant and graceful. She didn’t even cast a single glance at Xie Ya.

Jiang ZhaoLin didn’t wade in mud and water. He brought Xie Ya back home precisely with the idea of asking Anna for a divorce. After Jiang Yang was affirmed to have turned highly paraplegic, Jiang ZhaoLin’s investigation of the Jiang clan made him realize that 81% of the Jiang’s shares were non-transparent. Also, it was unknown where Jiang Yang’s shares had transferred to. Just as well, he didn’t want to divide and give them to Anna. A divorce was just what he wanted.

(T/N: make things messy)

Jiang Zhaolin scribbled and signed, and Anna carefully took back the agreement. If Jiang Zhaolin dared to go back on his words, she would see him in court.

“Wenbo, Dad will take you to see your room.” Jiang Zhaolin affectionately pulled his love child to his side, wanting to accompany him upstairs.

Jiang Wenbo cheerfully called out ‘father‘ and Jiang ZhaoLin immediately blossomed with joy. Wherever did he remember that he had another son who was still in a coma?

Xie Ya did not follow, but sat down across Anna with her chin raised up smugly, and with the bearing of a hostess, pointed her finger at the housekeeper and asked her to pour her a cup of tea. She spoke to Anna with biting sarcasm. “You still have the foresight to leave this marriage with nothing.”

(T/N: means to divorce without taking any part of the property. This is in reference to the fact that Anna didn’t want anything from Jiang ZhaoLin when she asked him for divorce.)

Anna indifferently looked at the woman who, right now, was dying to look at her through her nostrils. She leaned on the sofa languidly and opened her mouth to speak, “Where does your pride come from?”

In fact, one didn’t even need to ask to realize it. Xie Ya, the other woman, at long last, drove her out and crawled up to the position of the legal wife. Anyway, she must have bore grudges, since not long ago, in the mall, Qin Yiran had berated her wholeheartedly. Moreover, her son, Jiang Wenbo, was currently the only “useful” son of Jiang Zhaolin. Now that she(XY) could stand in front of her(Anna), wouldn’t she show off?

Anna smiled and looked at Xie Ya, who had raised her nose up like a clown. Before long, her son came over to pick her up; just in time to relieve her from boredom.

T/N: I understand that having my notes popping up in between the chapters is kinda disruptive and irritating, but the thing is that putting them all at the end sort of defeats the purpose of adding notes altogether. Since the notes are supposed to help you understand what the text of the chapter says. putting them at the end means that you would have to scroll down and then up the page which, to me, seems the same as selecting/copying the text and then searching for it on your search engine/browser.

I get that it is distracting and disrupts the reading rhythm, that is why I have put those notes in colors. You can skip them if you like. And as I said earlier in one of my previous post, I am learning about how to anchor text on wordpress. It might take some time but it will make things better. Until then, I can only ask you guys to make-do.
