I secured a room at the inn and then went outside the town, standing in the grassland.
This place, known as the "Entrance to the Holy City" just outside the South Gate of "Holy City Tsire," is a field where even beginners can defeat monsters.
"Whew~! What a great view!"
This is it! This is the view I wanted to see. I wanted to smell the earth, feel the blindingly high blue sky on my skin, and let the joy of finally standing at the starting point fill my heart. I have many places I want to visit once I level up, and I look forward to that too.
—Well then.
What I’m about to do is the tutorial for "Rias." To be more precise, it’s one of the tutorial quests. I want to get the "Adventurer’s Bracelet" from that quest.
I haven’t accepted the quest yet, but I know what items are needed, so I plan to gather them in advance.
Looking out over the grassland, I see two types of monsters.
There are the orange, jelly-like "Pururu" and the small rabbits with flowers on their heads, the "Flower Rabbits." There are also several types of herbs and plants growing here.
For the quest, I need five "Pururu Jellies" dropped by these two types of monsters, three "Rabbit Flowers," and ten bundles of "White Flower Herbs."
"Alright, let’s go!"
First, I’ll target the "Pururu." Since my level is 1, I’ll start by defeating the weaker "Pururu" rather than the "Flower Rabbits."
I stand in front of a "Pururu" and, with a heave, raise and swing my iron blunt weapon. It hits the "Pururu" directly, and its body splatters and disappears. Honestly, the sight of it being squashed is indescribable.
What’s left after the "Pururu" disappears is the drop item, "Pururu Jelly." It’s a sphere, slightly smaller than a ping-pong ball. Eating it restores a small amount of HP, so it’s a valuable drop for beginners...
"In this world, it’s also a snack for commoners."
I’ve never eaten it as a daughter of a duke, but the servants say it’s quite delicious, and I’ve been quite curious.
The game is the latest full-dive, but it doesn’t quite capture the taste. —Well, to be precise, it can, but there are concerns about people not logging out to eat, so it wasn’t implemented.
—Should I eat it?
It looks and smells like orange jelly, and it looks quite delicious. It’s a quest item, but the drop rate is around 90%, so I can gather it again easily.
So, I decided to eat it.
"Let’s dig in!"
Crunch. The texture is soft and cold, and my cheeks relax. Come to think of it, I was so busy before coming here that I hadn’t had anything sweet. It’s been a while since I’ve had something sweet.
"Mmm, delicious!"
The faint scent of oranges relaxes me, and the tension from before seems to melt away. I finish it in no time.
"Alright, let’s keep hunting at this pace!"
I raise my iron blunt weapon and strike the "Pururu" with one hit, then pick up the "Pururu Jelly" and put it in my bag.
After defeating a few, a "Piron♪" sound resonates in my head. It’s the sound that plays when I level up.
"Smooth, smooth!"
I can’t check my status screen right now, so I’ll do that later.
After defeating seven "Pururu," I gathered the "Pururu Jellies," so next is collecting the "Rabbit Flowers."
*Pip*
A "Flower Rabbit" immediately appears in front of me. It’s about the same size as a real rabbit, but it has a flower of a different color on its head, and it has long fangs, probably for attacking. Still, at first glance, it’s a cute little rabbit.
The cute game graphics were popular, but in reality, it’s quite a different feeling to kill small animals.
I feel a bit hesitant... but I can’t just say, "I can’t kill monsters because they’re cute!" and get anywhere, so I raise my iron blunt weapon.
"Sorry, little rabbit!"
*Pii!*
The good thing about this world is that when you defeat a monster, it leaves behind a drop item and disappears. Honestly, if the rabbit’s body remained, I wouldn’t have the means to deal with it, and it would have been a hassle to carry it back.
After defeating a few "Flower Rabbits," I collected the necessary "Rabbit Flowers." By then, I had gotten somewhat used to defeating "Flower Rabbits."
The last item I need is "White Flower Herbs," but they grow all over the field, so I quickly gathered them.
It took about an hour to collect everything. I was relieved that it went faster than I thought.
All that’s left is to return to town and progress the quest. Feeling a bit elated, I jogged back to the town.
