Ch4 - The word affection is both medicine and poison

In the end, Li Suqing still caught a cold. It was obvious since he went up the cold mountain with that frail body.

Ye Zhi was not good with words. Although he was worried about Li Suqing, he didn’t know how to go about it. So, he picked a random medical book in Li Suqing’s room and tried to look for some cold remedies.

Suddenly, a hand, so white it was almost transparent, reached out and snatched the book Ye Zhi was holding. Ye Zhi raised his head just in time to meet Li Suqing’s gentle, smiling eyes.

Li Suqing coughed, then raised a corner of his lips and asked, “Is Ye er also interested in medicine?” He spoke in a teasing tone, but it couldn’t hide the gentleness and carefree engraved in his bone.

“I just want to find a remedy for cold.” Ye Zhi was straightforward. The fact that he worried about Li Suqing was nothing to be ashamed about.

Li Suqing wasn’t surprised at this answer. He smiled softly, “Mulberry leaves, white chrysanthemum, bamboo leaves, mint, and fermented soybean, decocting in water.”

Li Suqing had just finished speaking, Ye Zhi immediately stood up and went to the shelves to pick out the ingredients he just heard. However, he didn’t know how much each one was needed, so he became flustered.

Looking at Ye Zhi’s somewhat anxious appearance, Li Suqing couldn’t help but chuckle. His laughter attracted Ye Zhi’s attention. The always cold and aloof face seemed to be begging for help.

Li Suqing couldn’t bear it. He lightly stepped forward, grabbed the scale, held Ye Zhi’s hand, and showed him how to use it.

With Li Suqing’s laughter still echoing in his head and his warm breath right on his neck, Ye Zhi’s composure was completed unraveled.

Standing behind, Li Suqing could see Ye Zhi’s white neck becoming redder and redder from embarrassment. It looked very delicious.

He lowered his head and took a bite of that flushed nape which made Ye Zhi trembled and retracted his neck. He turned his head and met with Li Suqing’s eyes. Those quiet eyes were as serene as a tranquil lake’s surface, very gorgeous.

Ye Zhi’s heart shook. He leaned over to kiss Li Suqing, but Li Suqing abruptly turned away. A few coughs followed after.

“I don’t want you to get a cold from me.” The smile on Li Suqing’s face was a little helpless; some slight coughs interrupted his speech from time to time.

Ye Zhi stared at Li Suqing deeply, then, throwing that nonsense about getting a cold out of the way, he leaned in to attack those lips fiercely as if he wanted to eat Li Suqing alive.

Despite his aggressiveness, Li Suqing knew better than anyone that Ye Zhi was a green boy. So not long after, the clumsy Ye Zhi was guided by Li Suqing until he was in a daze and completely immersed in the kiss, allowing Li Suqing to do whatever he wanted.

Right at this moment, a sudden noise interrupted their actions. Li Suqing and Ye Zhi turned around and saw Chen Yu standing in front of the door, dumbfoundedly gawking at them.

Ye Zhi’s face was cold as ever, as if being seen making out with Li Suqing by Chen Yu didn’t bother him at all. On the other hand, Li Suqing coughed awkwardly, then asked in his usual kind voice, “Chen Yu, is something the matter?”

Chen Yu’s soul returned to his body after hearing Li Suqing’s question. He was still young and didn’t know how to hide his thoughts. His cheeks stained red with embarrassment. He didn’t know how to face Li Suqing and Ye Zhi.

He bent down to pick up the food container that had fallen. Luckily, nothing was spilled, or it would have been a waste.

“The eldest and youngest uncles of the Wang family hunted a wild boar yesterday. After that, they asked me to deliver some meat to mister to replenish your body.” Chen Yu looked left and right as he spoke, never daring to look straight at Li Suqing.

How could Li Squing not see through his thoughts? He smiled softly, “That’s good. You can put it on the table. I will eat it later.” And then coughed a few times.

Hearing Li Suqing’s cough, Chen Yu turned around immediately, “Mister, what’s wrong? Did you get a cold?” Chen Yu said as he hastily put the food container on the side and walked over to Li Suqing.

He continued: “Is it because you went up the mountain yesterday? I told you not to go, but you never listened.”

In just a short time, Chen Yu returned to his usual self. He nagged unceasingly in front of Li Suqing, one thing after another.

Li Suqing couldn’t stop smiling. The curves at his eye’s corners looked very pretty. He stretched out his hand and patted Chen Yu’s shoulder, “Don’t worry, it’s only a mild cold. I will recover in a few days.”

Chen Yu knew that once Li Suqing got stubborn, no one could change his mind. He snorted, then grimaced at Li Suqing before trotting out of the room.

From behind the door, Chen Yu turned around and shouted, “That guy’s portion is also in there, hmph, just share between you two!”

Suddenly bumped into something so embarrassing. Even if Li Suqing invited him to stay, Chen Yu wouldn’t be willing to. So, before Li Suqing could open his mouth, Chen Yu ran away to avoid being called back.

Li Suqing laughed when he saw that. Then, finished laughing, he turned around, planted a bunch of kisses on Ye Zhi’s face and whispered softly, “Let’s eat first.”

“Ok,” Ye Zhi nodded. His expression was still apathetic, but a patch of skin behind his neck had already flushed red upon a closer look.
