Shutting the door, Aoba first saw the female ghost Xiaobai in the corner of the room.
At this moment, Xiaobai was still in an invisible state and had not appeared.
However, this was not a problem for Aoba. Even if she did not appear, Aoba could see her clearly.
One could say that with a primordial spirit, Aoba's eyes were much more sensitive than those of a natural-born medium.
At this moment, Xiaobai also noticed Aoba's return and quietly approached, circling around Aoba. Clearly, she did not realize that Aoba could see her clearly, thinking Aoba could not detect her. Thus, she circled around Aoba, using her limited thinking ability to consider how to scare Aoba.
As soon as Aoba saw Xiaobai's state, he understood that she had clearly forgotten about him again. Otherwise, how could she, who had been terrified by him before, dare to come forward and provoke him?
Aoba shook his head helplessly, feeling utterly disappointed with the memory of ghosts and resolved to do something quickly to avoid the daily hassle of dealing with Xiaobai every time he returned home.
It was fine once or twice, but it became annoying after a while.
So, Aoba instantly released his aura, the killing and evil aura from his battles through mountains of blades and seas of blood, which immediately scared Xiaobai back to the corner, where she started drawing circles again.
Fortunately, Xiaobai's state was similar to that of a bound spirit, trapped in the room; otherwise, she would have been scared away long ago.
After dealing with the mischievous Xiaobai again, Aoba walked to the window, opened it, and sat sideways on the small windowsill.
Lifting his legs to place his feet on the windowsill, Aoba picked up a can of beer and, sitting sideways on the windowsill, opened the beer can.
Gulping, Aoba drank the entire can of beer in one breath and then let out a long sigh.
In his previous life, Aoba was a drinker, but in this life, he had never drunk alcohol until now. After nearly four hundred years, Aoba drank the first can of beer in one go.
At this moment, the window of the room next to Aoba's was also opened, and the construction worker, Shimada Isaku, sat on the windowsill just like Aoba. Peering slightly out the window, he saw Aoba sitting on the windowsill.
"Uesugi, you seem to drink often?" Shimada Isaku asked curiously.
"No, this is the first time in this life," Aoba replied honestly.
"I don't believe it. Would you drink a whole can in one breath on your first try?" Shimada Isaku said disbelievingly, then drank the can of beer Aoba had given him at the door in one breath.
"Shimada, another one," Aoba said, throwing another can of beer to him.
"Young people these days! They dare to call adults by their names," Shimada Isaku sighed, taking the beer and saying, "Thanks."
The two of them sat on their respective windowsills and drank.
However, just as they each finished their second can and Aoba threw the third can to Shimada Isaku, the window of the room next to Shimada Isaku's was also opened.
Imitating the two, the Shibuya-style beauty, Kinako Takeuchi, also sat on the windowsill and waved at Aoba, saying, "Aoba-kun, I want beer too."
"Sure," Aoba replied, throwing a can of beer to her.
Kinako Takeuchi caught it, said, "Thank you," and started drinking.
"Kinako, I remember you just started dating that guy a week ago. Did you break up already?" Shimada Isaku asked curiously.
"Hmph, I must have been blind to even like him. I thought he was my true love," Kinako Takeuchi said fiercely.
"Breaking up after just a week? That's fast," Aoba echoed.
"Indeed, but it's normal for Kinako. She once broke up after just one day," Shimada Isaku explained.
"Breaking up after one day? Are you sure it wasn't a one-night stand?" Aoba was shocked.
"Of course not. I take my relationships seriously and have never had a one-night stand," Kinako Takeuchi retorted.
"It wasn't a one-night stand! I remember clearly that she left with that person in the morning, saying they were going to register for marriage, but came back crying in the evening," Shimada Isaku explained.
"Really!" Aoba was speechless.
So, the three of them continued drinking on their respective windowsills.
"I just want a good man. Why is it so hard?" Kinako Takeuchi shouted.
"That depends on your standards for a good man," Aoba said with a smile.
"Uesugi, let me tell you, her standards for a good man are: rich, handsome, not a playboy, doesn't look at other women, and gives her all his money," Shimada Isaku said sarcastically.
"Clear standards, but hard to find," Aoba said, shaking his head with a smile.
Kinako Takeuchi didn't say anything, just kept drinking beer and soon finished the can in her hand.
"Beer," Kinako Takeuchi called to Aoba.
"Here," Aoba threw another can to her.
Kinako Takeuchi caught it and continued drinking.
The three of them drank and chatted, and soon the moon rose. Kinako Takeuchi, who drank the fastest and the most, was the first to get drunk and, closing the window, fell asleep on the bed.
Next was the construction worker, Shimada Isaku, who also went to sleep because he had work the next day.
Finally, only Aoba was left, drinking all the remaining beer, then plugging in the power and channeling electricity through his body to end his cultivation for the day before going to sleep.
The next day, the first thing Aoba did after getting up was to release his aura, scaring Xiaobai, who had forgotten about him again, into hiding in the corner without disturbing him. Then he washed up and had breakfast.
After that, Aoba put on his school uniform and left the room, heading out of the apartment.
As usual, the first person Aoba saw when he walked out of the apartment was Kita川 Kōko, who was sweeping the courtyard.
However, before he could greet Kita川 Kōko, he saw the girl, Haruka Chūna, waiting by the gate.
Haruka Chūna, who could definitely be considered a beautiful girl, was standing quietly by the gate in her junior high school uniform, holding two bento boxes.
The moment she saw Aoba, Haruka Chūna's eyes lit up, and she called out, "Senpai," running to Aoba and handing him one of the bento boxes, clearly prepared for him.
"You're so fast. You said you wanted to eat my bento yesterday, and you made it today," Aoba said with a smile, taking the bento from Haruka Chūna.
"Yesterday, after I found out you lived here, I decided to make a bento for you this morning," Haruka Chūna said, blushing slightly.
"Thank you, I'll finish it all," Aoba said seriously.
"If there's anything you don't like, you can leave it. I didn't know what you like, so I prepared a little of each dish," Haruka Chūna said in a low voice.
However, their conversation was heard by Kita川 Kōko, who was sweeping the courtyard.
"What a cute kouhai! Youth is so wonderful!" Kita川 Kōko said with a smile.
Haruka Chūna's face immediately turned as red as an apple.
"Senpai, I have to do my cleaning duty, so I'll go first," Haruka Chūna explained, her face red, and then, without waiting for Aoba to speak, turned and ran away.
