"Why did you come out alone? Today is your first class, everyone is waiting for you to teach!" Aoba opened a can of oolong tea and said while drinking it.
"You still have the nerve to say that, it's all because of you." Mizuki Yuka glared at Aoba angrily.
"You were scared just now, right? I'm really sorry, I'm still not quite used to all of this." Aoba sat down next to Mizuki Yuka, raised his hand, and looked around.
Having been an ordinary person for over a decade, Aoba had just awakened his past memories and was still unfamiliar with his powers. As a result, such incidents would happen unintentionally, and there was nothing he could do but gradually get used to his powers over time.
"Everyone is still not used to the new high school life. Not just you students, but I, as a teacher, am even more so. This is my first time truly being a teacher, aside from my internship!" Mizuki Yuka clearly misunderstood Aoba's meaning and continued talking to herself.
"So you should work even harder. Come on, stop being stubborn and let's go back!" Aoba raised his hand and patted Mizuki Yuka's head.
At first, Mizuki Yuka didn't react, as she probably couldn't imagine that a student like Aoba would comfort her, a teacher, by patting her head like a child.
But then Mizuki Yuka quickly reacted, her face turning red instantly.
She slapped Aoba's hand away and stood up, saying, "You, I'm your teacher!"
"Do you still remember that you're a teacher? If you're a teacher, then don't be stubborn. Come on, let's go back to class." Aoba, without allowing any objections, grabbed one of Mizuki Yuka's arms and pulled her towards the classroom.
Thus, Mizuki Yuka, somewhat unwillingly, was taken back to the classroom by her student to continue the class.
After the incident in the morning where Mizuki Yuka was scared to tears, Aoba was much more obedient during class, at least not openly reading newspapers but doing it secretly instead.
The day passed quickly, and by around 3:30 PM, when school was over, Aoba had learned a lot about horse racing and was preparing to go home to change out of his school uniform before heading to the racetrack to try his luck.
In Japan, minors are prohibited from horse racing, and although there are always ways to bypass such rules, it doesn't mean one can openly go to the racetrack in a school uniform.
While it's possible to buy horse racing tickets online, Aoba planned to use his spiritual power to peek at fate, so he had to be at the racetrack.
As the school bell rang, students gradually left the classroom, those in clubs went to their activities, those without clubs but planning to join went to visit, and those who didn't want to join any clubs went straight home.
Aoba slowly packed up his things and left the classroom when most of the students had already gone, heading towards the school gate.
At the private Seikawa High School gate, a girl in middle school uniform with a ponytail was standing quietly, observing the crowd leaving the school, as if looking for someone.
The girl's innocent and cute appearance attracted many people's attention, and quite a few boys tried to act serious as they passed by her, but then turned around to secretly look at her, some even gathered in groups, looking back and whispering to each other.
In this situation, Aoba walked out of the school gate and was immediately noticed by the girl.
The girl, who had been looking somewhat anxious, brightened up the moment she saw Aoba, and then bounced over to him, calling out, "Senpai, senpai."
"It's you! We meet again." Aoba looked at the excited girl who had come to him and smiled.
"Thank you very much, senpai, for what you did yesterday." The girl immediately bowed deeply to Aoba.
"Don't mention it, it was just a small favor! Besides, you treated me to a bento, so it was just a thank you for the bento." Aoba said nonchalantly.
Indeed, the girl in front of him was the music girl Aoba had met yesterday.
"How can I not? Thanks to your advice, I've already signed with an idol agency, and the president even paid for my father's medical expenses." The music girl said hurriedly.
"Alright, I've already said that helping you was just a thank you for the bento. You don't need to worry about it." Aoba shook his head.
Seeing that the music girl was about to say something more, Aoba quickly changed the subject, "By the way, your bento was really delicious! Can you make one for me again next time?"
"Really? I'll definitely make one for you next time." The music girl immediately replied, a happy expression on her face.
"Alright, I'm looking forward to it!" Aoba smiled and nodded.
"Then, can I have your email address, senpai? This way, when I make the bento, I can give it to you when it's convenient for you." The music girl took out her phone and mustered the courage to ask.
"Of course, but before we exchange emails, shouldn't we exchange names first? I don't even know your name." Aoba smiled and said.
"Oh, I forgot to introduce myself, that was really rude." The music girl immediately bowed again and introduced herself, "My name is Hina Haruka, I'm a third-year student at Sakashita Middle School, not far from here. Please take care of me."
"So you're Haruka! I'm Aoba Uesugi, just call me Aoba, no need to be so formal." Aoba smiled and said.
"No, no, how can I call you by your first name!" Hina Haruka immediately waved her hands in panic.
"Alright, it's up to you, but I'll call you Haruka, it sounds more natural." Aoba said casually.
Hina Haruka's face instantly turned red, but she was happy to agree. Being called by her first name by Aoba clearly meant he didn't see her as an outsider, which made her very happy.
In Japan, calling someone by their first name is generally only done between very close people! Of course, this doesn't necessarily mean romantic partners, but rather close friends or childhood friends.
After chatting with Hina Haruka, Aoba found out that they lived in the same direction and not far from each other.
So they boarded the train together and went home.
They parted ways not far from Aoba's apartment. Aoba went home, changed his clothes, and then went out, boarded the train, and headed to the horse racing track.
