Su Jing did not take the bucket of fish and shrimp back home, but instead took it to his uncle's house.
Firstly, his uncle's family had always been very good to him since he was young. During the New Year, Su Jing's whole family would stay at his uncle's house, which showed how close their relationship was. When he had something good, he naturally wouldn't keep it to himself and wanted to share it with his uncle's family. Secondly, Su Jing was self-aware and knew that his cooking skills were not great. If he cooked the two large lobsters, the taste would probably be worse, so it was better to let his uncle cook them.
Thinking of his uncle's cooking skills and the delicious taste of the lobsters, Su Jing almost drooled.
As he was about to reach his uncle's house, he saw his tall and muscular uncle, with his pants rolled up, walking towards him.
"Uncle," Su Jing called out enthusiastically.
"A Jing, I was just about to look for you. Why didn't you stay at my place when you came back? Can you even live in that dilapidated house?" Su Zhenhong said angrily.
"It's fine. My room doesn't leak, and I haven't been back for a long time, so I'm quite nostalgic about it," Su Jing said, shrinking his head. He was both respectful and afraid of his uncle because when he was a child, he had once made a big mistake and was beaten until his bottom was bruised, leaving him with some psychological trauma.
"Nostalgic my ass, quickly pack your things and come stay at my place. Your aunt has already prepared a room for you," Su Zhenhong said.
"Really, Uncle, I'm fine where I am," Su Jing said. If it were in the past, he would have followed Su Zhenhong's wishes, but now he was worried about the magic beast meat at home and the pile of garbage that hadn't been dealt with yet, so he had to stay at home. Worried that his uncle wouldn't agree, he changed the subject, "I just caught some fish at the seaside and was about to bring them to you. We can taste your cooking tonight."
"I'll carry it," Su Zhenhong said. Although he seemed unreasonable on the surface, he didn't press the issue when he saw Su Jing deliberately changing the subject. He took the bucket from Su Jing and, feeling its weight, was momentarily stunned, "Hmm, it's quite heavy. Did you catch this much?"
"I had good luck today," Su Jing smiled.
"Ha ha, let's go. I'll cook something good for you tonight," Su Zhenhong said. By "something good," he didn't mean the fish in Su Jing's bucket. Since Su Jing had covered the bucket with a banana leaf to protect the fish and shrimp from the sun, Su Zhenhong hadn't seen what was inside. In his view, what could you catch at the seaside? Probably just some small fish like damselfish, which weren't very tasty. However, this was Su Jing's gesture, and he didn't want to dampen Su Jing's enthusiasm, so he didn't say much.
When they arrived at his uncle's house, his aunt Liu Shu and his sister-in-law Zhao Mengxiang warmly welcomed Su Jing. A little girl with two big braids timidly hid behind the adults, peeking at Su Jing. She was Su Jing's cousin, Su Yan, the daughter of his cousin Su Ruliang and Zhao Mengxiang, who was already six years old.
"These are the fish A Jing caught. Take them and clean them," Su Zhenhong handed the bucket to Liu Shu.
"A Jing, where did you catch so many fish?" Liu Shu smiled.
"You all take care of A Jing, I'll take it to the kitchen," Zhao Mengxiang said, smiling as she took the bucket to the kitchen. She lifted the banana leaf and was about to pour the fish into the water tank when she saw the large lobsters and was stunned. After three seconds, she came to her senses, "Wow, such big lobsters."
"What lobsters?" Su Zhenhong and Liu Shu were both stunned and quickly walked to the kitchen.
"In the bucket A Jing brought, there are two large lobsters. A Jing, did you catch these?" Zhao Mengxiang was amazed.
"Mom, the lobsters are fighting," Su Yan's soft voice said. She was staring wide-eyed at the two lobsters fighting, wanting to touch them but not daring to.
"A Jing, you even caught lobsters? I thought they were just small fish. These are wild lobsters, worth at least six or seven hundred yuan. We can't cook them; we should sell them. And this grouper is worth at least a hundred yuan," Su Zhenhong said hurriedly after seeing the large lobsters and the grouper. In the coastal village, they ate fish almost every day, and ordinary fish were eaten to the point of being boring. However, rare species like such large lobsters were rarely caught, and when they were, people usually didn't eat them but sold them.
"Right, such expensive lobsters, who could bear to eat them?" Liu Shu also couldn't bear to.
"Ha ha, it's rare to catch two lobsters. Let's enjoy them ourselves. I absolutely wouldn't sell them. If you two don't want to cook them, I'll cook them myself," Su Jing smiled. In the past, he might have been a bit reluctant, but now with the magic beast meat, was it really that hard to catch lobsters?
"Your cooking skills, if you cook them, it would be a waste," Su Zhenhong laughed and scolded.
"Uncle, are lobsters tasty?" Su Yan, hiding behind Zhao Mengxiang, looked up at Su Jing timidly.
"Of course, they are. Tonight, let's have your grandpa cook them for us," Su Jing smiled.
"Great, great, we can eat big lobsters," Su Yan clapped and laughed.
"Uncle, see, Su Yan also wants to eat. Let's indulge ourselves a bit. I don't want to live by the sea and never taste such big lobsters. Life is short; we should treat ourselves occasionally," Su Jing said.
"Fine, I can't argue with you. Let's indulge ourselves this once. I'll cook them," Su Zhenhong agreed, though he was a bit hesitant. After all, he had just been reluctant to eat the lobsters, not that he didn't want to.
"Uncle, the lobsters and the other fish are up to you. I had good luck today, so I'll go try to catch more," Su Jing said.
"Alright, be careful and don't fall into the sea. Come back early," Su Zhenhong advised. Although they lived by the sea and were good swimmers, they never took it lightly because they knew the sea was merciless, and many people had died in it. Su Jing's cousin, Su Ruliang, had almost died at sea three years ago during a heavy rainstorm. After surviving, he never dared to go to sea again and went to work outside.
"Uncle, I want to go too," Su Yan said.
"I'd like to take you, but I need to ask your mom," Su Jing smiled. He rarely came back, and this was a good opportunity to get closer to his niece, but the seaside was dangerous.
"Let's do this. I have nothing to do anyway, so I'll go with you. I can see how you fish and help you carry the bucket," Zhao Mengxiang smiled.
"Great," Su Jing agreed happily.
So, Su Jing, with his fishing rod and the magic beast meat, went to the seaside with Zhao Mengxiang and Su Yan. However, this time they didn't go to his own beach, as it wasn't suitable for fishing. The grouper and lobsters had already been caught, so there probably wouldn't be any good fish there.
The three of them arrived near the village beach, where they saw many tourists. Some were sunbathing, some were playing beach volleyball, and some were swimming in the sea. This place had become a tourist attraction two years ago, attracting many visitors with its beautiful environment.
This also boosted the local economy, with many seafood and barbecue restaurants on the beach. The owners were mostly from nearby villages like Su Family Village, Shi Family Village, and Zhu Family Village. Of course, it wasn't yet a famous tourist destination, so prices hadn't skyrocketed, and a bottle of mineral water didn't cost ten yuan.
Su Jing was about to find a secluded and deep spot when he suddenly heard a commotion on the beach. Looking over, he saw a large crowd gathered, with some young men in shorts holding fishing tools about to go into the sea, and others cheering them on.
Su Jing took a closer look and recognized the group about to go into the sea, which included people from Shi Family Village and Su Family Village, including Su Liang.
What made Su Jing's eyes light up and his heart race a bit more was the sight of a fresh and beautiful figure in the crowd.
