The training of the Cat Sage mainly focuses on perception and control of the body. At this stage, even if Duran uses ki, it would be superfluous and would not help him in his quest for the Super Water at all. However, even if Duran knows the purpose of the Cat Sage's training, he is still far from succeeding.
This is because he is different from the simple-minded Sun Wukong; he has too many thoughts and finds it hard to concentrate fully.
During training, Duran devoted himself wholeheartedly, losing track of time. When he finally managed to keep up with the Cat Sage's rhythm, Sun Wukong returned. Wukong had already defeated the Great Demon King Piccolo and saved the Earth for the first time.
The young Sun Wukong was indeed very cute, and Duran couldn't resist pinching him a few times. It was hard to imagine that such a child could save the entire Earth from the Great Demon King Piccolo. Wukong's destination was the Other World, so he only greeted Duran briefly. Duran didn't have much interest in getting closer, as his current strength was far too weak.
After a few days, Duran's body had become very agile, and he could keep up with the Cat Sage's movements. Duran knew that as long as he could judge the Cat Sage's actions, he could obtain the Super Water. However, he was still at a loss when it came to controlling ki, but Duran was confident that he could master the use of ki for perception in the coming days.
Ki is a very magical thing. It can be used for attacks, flight, and perception. Duran continuously emitted and retracted his ki, and began to control the amount and shape of it. As someone not from this world, Duran did not possess the super sensitivity to ki that Sun Wukong and Krillin had. Therefore, Duran could only familiarize himself with his ki, training it to become a part of his body, like his hands and feet.
With repeated and continuous training, and the guidance of the Cat Sage, Duran's progress was very fast. At least now, when he used techniques like the Kamehameha, he wouldn't end up using the Nodame Kenpo.
Finally, after a month, Duran got to drink the Super Water, which was essentially just plain water, but accurately speaking, it was plain water with the name "Super Water." The training results were evident. Duran stood next to the Karin Tower, made a classic pose, and shouted, "Kamehameha!" He pushed out a glowing energy wave with both hands.
"This level is about the same as Master Roshi's full-power attack," Duran looked at his hands, feeling his progress.
This also meant that Duran's combat power was around 130. Of course, compared to Sun Wukong and the others, he was still far behind. However, Duran was limited by his physical condition and could not tap into the endless ki within his body, which restricted his combat power.
To further strengthen his body, Duran could only continue to hone himself. Of course, if he needed to fight, Duran would also have to undergo martial arts training or directly spar with other martial artists. So Duran thought about finding Master Roshi for martial arts training, but before that, he decided to learn the Flight Technique first.
After mastering the use of ki, learning the Flight Technique was much easier. It only took two days for Duran to be able to fly in the air. Of course, this also showed that Duran had no talent. Satan's daughter, Videl, only took three days to go from practicing ki to flying freely. Compared to the martial artists in the original story, Duran was extremely weak.
After living at the Karin Tower for nearly two months, Duran finally decided to set off for Master Roshi's place. Before leaving, Duran asked the Cat Sage for a bag of Senzu Bean seeds and a large barrel of Senzu Beans. The Cat Sage was very generous, which made Duran feel a bit embarrassed, and he promised to bring some good food next time.
There was less than three years until the next World Martial Arts Tournament, and Sun Wukong was training in the Other World, while Piccolo had not yet grown up. Duran needed to make the most of his time, as he planned to participate in the next World Martial Arts Tournament. On Earth, Duran was a law-abiding minor, but in the Dragon Ball world, he had a perpetual motion engine as a cheat. Moreover, in this world where martial arts were the way to make friends, the dormant combat genes in Duran's body were also beginning to awaken.
Master Roshi's home was hard to find, but the Cat Sage had already given Duran detailed directions, so he wouldn't get lost.
A small island, a coconut tree, a house, and beach chairs with umbrellas.
After learning the Flight Technique, Duran flew over the sea for a few hours and arrived at Master Roshi's residence. An old bald man, three bald boys of different sizes, a beautiful woman, and a turtle greeted Duran.
"Who are you?" Krillin looked at Duran with unfriendly eyes. This future strongest Earthling was currently just a young boy who hadn't grown up yet.
Tien, on the other side, was also on guard. Having just reformed, he was now training under Master Roshi. There was also Chiaotzu, who had little presence, though he was wearing a hat, Duran knew Chiaotzu was also bald.
"Are you Krillin, Master Roshi's disciple?" Duran looked at Krillin, who was only as tall as his chest, and said, "I'm here to find Master Roshi for martial arts training."
This time, Krillin didn't speak, but the old man beside him did, "Go back, I won't take any more disciples."
Duran still had a lot of respect for Master Roshi. A noble martial artist, a good teacher, and a fearless warrior.
"Are you Master Roshi? The Cat Sage from the Karin Tower sent me here." Mentioning the Cat Sage, Master Roshi had to give Duran some face.
"Oh? You've met the Cat Sage?"
"Yes, I received training from the Cat Sage at the Karin Tower," Duran said.
"Since you've already drunk the Super Water, why are you here to find me?"
"I want to undergo martial arts training."
Master Roshi nodded, fell silent for a moment, and then said, "I won't take any more disciples, but if you just want to learn martial arts, I can give you some pointers. And my disciples need a sparring partner."
"Thank you, Master Roshi."
