[T/N: [1] Xiao 小 (small/little) is added to someone's name for a pet name. It's the same as Da 大 (big). Only family members and someone extremely close to that person can use/call that person with Xiao or Da.]

When they were having dinner just now, Xie Yan finally realized that the furniture in the living room was the one from the old time, just like the mahogany dining table that he had mischievously craved with a knife when he was small. Then, when he walked around the house for a few time, he unexpectedly saw a lot of familiar things. It was obvious that most of the thing in that house didn't change since he left.

"Ah?" Shu Nian smiled, "Really? The house interior was designed according to Master's preference."

"Please, it was designed for how many years? It's as if we, Xie household are being harsh on you. I'll call someone to renovate the house tomorrow."

"No need, I don't have any problem to use the old things." He was reluctant. He was already 23 years old when Xie Yan left. He acted strong and sent Xie Yan to the plane. He was at loss and frustrated, it even looked like he had forgotten how to eat and sleep. After he came home from sending Xie Yan, he sat blankly on the single seat sofa until dawn.

Probably that time was the start, when he dared to believe that he was actually bold enough to fall in love with Xie Yan.

"Xiao Nian, men that are too frugal, and do not know how to spend money will have a hard time to get girls."

Shu Nian just smiled.

"But it's also good, since Xiao Nian has always been mine. As long as you know how to make me happy is more than enough." Xie Yan beckoned, "[2] Be good, come and let me hug you."

The command really made one's hair stood up.

Although he had been acting as substitute for Iris when they were small, and had been accustomed to this type of command, but he's already 30 years old, and to ask him to lie obediently on top of Xie Yan's legs, certainly his body will turn rigid.

"Better not..." Shu Nian smiled wryly.

If one were to compare the treatment he received before and now, the only differences were 30 years old Iris and 12 years old Iris.

Xie Yan had always loved to touch a good thing. Nian Shu had received this kind of "affection" since childhood. He had already suffered the numbing touch from Xie Yan, starting on his face and then forehead until chin, every inch of his face was rubbed repeatedly for countless time, and hence his face often got swollen in the past.

"En, so good..." Xie Yan started to feel good, and simply snaked his hand into Shu Nian's pajama collar and began to caress his neck.

The last time they got so close was almost seven years ago before Xie Yan went abroad. Even though Shu Nian tried his best to restraint until his breath became ragged, but he couldn't help but to stealthily raise his eyes to look at Xie Yan who was engrossed in watching the evening show.

Xie Yan has a very smooth forehead, coupled with a pair of coifed and dashing eyebrows, soft thin lips, sharp eyes that were slightly narrowed made it easier for others to have a bad thought about him.

Shu Nian lay pitifully in his lap, he could feel the warm and powerful muscles that were separated by the thin clothes, and he could also smell the fresh and warm odor distinctly and clearly coming from his body. The fingers willfully caressed, rubbed and pinched his back affectionately, and it continued for a while. He was scared that he couldn't endure, and too nervous until his eyes turned helpless.

He was scared that he will be found out due to his heartbeat that was too loud, hence he tried desperately to cease his mind by diverting his attention, and tried not to think about Xie Yan's long legs that he used as a pillow that could be compared to the top male model's legs. He tried his best to suppress the bad thought that was sprouting in his mind.

Xie Yan hardly managed to finish watching his show. He got sleepy, and finally stopped touching him. He turned off the lights and lay down to prepare to go to sleep. Shu Nian who had earnestly controlled his breath due to the intense situation could finally breathe normally. However, he was instantly hugged from behind, and half of his body was covered by Xie Yan's body, causing him to almost stop breathing.

"Xiao Nian, move back to the main house tomorrow."

Xie Yan was really straightforward, using the commanding tone, without even using the word "please".

"Ah? But Master told me to live here, I..." As a matter of fact, Xie Feng couple had always regarded him as an outsider, and that was why they waited until Xie Yan grew up and no longer needed a personal attendant, and simply made him move out.

"Ignore them. I told you to move so move. Just say it was my order if anyone asks." Xie Yan was always downright aggressive, and didn't even care about anyone else.

"Oh..." After thinking of the things that will happen if he were to face Xie Yan every day, Shu Nian stammered in distress, and then his stammer turned into coaxing, "We already grew up...I won't be able to assist you with anything even if I move back..."

It was already unusual when two energetic boys hugged each other at that time, and it could be barely explained as the eldest young master Xie was still immature and mischievous. And now...these two men could almost become fathers, but they're still holding each other to sleep...

Ignoring the fact either it was strange or not, the chance for something to accidentally happen was high.

Although he never dare to have any improper thought, but he also knew that Xie Yan's hug was as tight as a girl hugging a doll, and to be held tightly by Xie Yan every day, and to be touched frequently...perhaps he might not be able to sleep for the whole night.

"I like hugging Xiao Nian," Xie Yan almost pressed him flat on the bed with his muscular broad chest and long, strong arms, "I won't be able to sleep well if I don't hug you...Hmm, Xiao Nian you are so thin, it's really nice to hold you..."

Shu Nian cautiously drew back in his bosom, and did not dare to move that much. He was aware of his deep breath and heartbeat, and thought that he might faint at any moment.

Time past by slowly, unexpectedly he still did not faint. He simply preserved the same posture, although his waist was getting sore, he had to remain stationary for the sake of consideration for the man that was sleeping soundly.

His back was burning due to the proximate touch and it was making him felt surreal.

Unknowingly hours had passed, and the light that slowly seeped from the curtains became brighter.

Shu Nian couldn't sleep a wink for the whole night.

Surprisingly, Xie Yan was still holding him firmly, and there were absolutely no significant changes of posture. His endurance was worth to be admired.

"Xie Yan?" Shu Nian whispered. It looked like he must get out of bed quickly. Mrs. Liu was still on a leave, hence he must get up first and prepared the breakfast as soon as possible.

There was no slightest response at all. Xie Yan was really sleeping soundly and peacefully.

Shu Nian wanted to stealthily remove Xie Yan's arms. Both his arms and feet were tightly clasped around Shu Nian like a human-eating spider that captured its prey.

Scared that big movement might made him uncomfortable, Shu Nian had to hold his breath as he cautiously turned around, wanted to see if he could use the most gentle method to wake him up quickly.

Xie Yan's breath was steady, and his sleeping face looked very peaceful.

Strands of hair fall on the supercilious man's forehead, and it made him looked much kinder compared when he was awake. The eyelashes were very long—he was truly a handsome man. The slightly puckered lips exuded innocent and happiness.

Shu Nian suddenly did not feel like waking him up.

It was good enough for him to be held quietly as Xie Yan was fast asleep. It will be better if it last longer. It will be better if he was hugged for a longer time. If he didn't wake up, then Shu Nian wouldn't wake him up.

It would be great if he was able to have such dream for a lifetime.

Half of his body was as if it had been paralyzed. He quietly watched Xie Yan from their close proximity as his heart thumped erratically.

He was sleeping.

Then, can I...is it okay...

Shu Nian trembled slightly as he moved closer. The heart beating sound could be heard clearly in the quiet room, and he almost flinched when he heard his own heartbeat.

He finally made up his mind, brought his fingers toward Xie Yan's mouth, and gently caressed it. It was soft and warm. Hence, he kept on caressing it for a while.

Then he brought the slightly trembled fingers that touched Xie Yan's lips toward himself, and put it on his own lips.

There was still a little bit of remaining warmth. His temperature was quite warm.

Shu Nian could hardly believe that he could have such opportunity.

Anne's Rant:

Don't even want to touch this novel for at least 2 weeks but I guess I need to update after I watched the trailer for part 2. Anyway I just realized that the dog is named Iris in the novel but Elis in part 1 and Alice in part 2. Of course the pinyin is the same but the characters aren't hence I'm just gonna stick to Iris as it's what written in the novel. The picture above was from their bts for part 2.

Translating is not an easy job and it takes time and effort. So please don't rush and be civilized. Don't steal and a little thanks is not that hard to say. It's holiday but here I am sitting my arse in front of my laptop translating and typing all the notes so that you gain a tiny tiny bit of knowledge and not just to satisfy you bl dose. But maybe it's just me as I love to read things that teach me something rather than just feeding my imagination. I could just enjoy my holiday to the core until my semester starts but that mean saying bye-bye to Uncontrolled Love and Counterattack for at least 2 months like I had done before. The beyotch in me is ragging but the tiny part in me told me to ignore and just translate until my new semester starts lmao
