Chapter 17

At home, the baby was sitting alone on the sofa in the living room, watching TV, while the sulcata tortoise lay obediently beside the sofa.

"Big Dumb Turtle, when will big brother come back? Baby is so bored." Although the baby was watching TV, her constant channel changing clearly showed that her mind was not on the TV programs.

When Su Zhe opened the door, the baby, hearing the sound, casually threw the TV remote and ran to Su Zhe with outstretched hands. Unfortunately, the remote hit the sulcata tortoise, which was trying to crawl away, causing it to shake its head and sway.

Su Zhe picked up the baby and rubbed his nose against her delicate little nose: "Baby, did you miss big brother while I was away?"

"Of course I did. Baby and the sulcata tortoise both missed big brother. Where did you go? Why didn't you take Baby with you?" The baby pouted, showing her resentment at being left alone.

"Big brother went to earn money. Otherwise, we wouldn't have money to eat, money to take Baby to KFC, or money to buy chocolate cake for Baby. Big Dumb Turtle would also go hungry. And we wouldn't be able to go to the amusement park." Su Zhe patiently explained to the baby.

"Oh, so now that big brother has earned money, are you going to take Baby to the amusement park?" The baby nodded, seemingly understanding, and immediately thought about going to the amusement park.

"Of course, big brother came back to take Baby to play." Su Zhe had planned to take the baby to the amusement park when he returned, and it was perfect that the baby wanted to go.

Su Zhe changed the baby into a new dress and styled her hair. His younger sister, Su Yuxin, often asked him to do her hair, so he had no problem styling the baby's hair and easily completed it.

When they went out, the baby had been transformed into a charming little princess by Su Zhe. Her jet-black hair was loosely tied into a bun, with the remaining strands cascading down her back. A simple hairpin adorned her hair, and her rosy cheeks and cherry lips, paired with her snow-white skin and a light purple floor-length dress, made her a perfect little royal princess.

"Big brother, Baby wants to play this, and Baby also wants to play that. Will big brother play with Baby?" After buying the tickets and entering the amusement park, the baby became lively, wanting to play one thing after another. Her innocent laughter attracted many people, and with her cute and elegant appearance, the baby became the center of attention in the amusement park.

Su Zhe looked at the rides the baby wanted to play and was startled. They were all the highlights of the amusement park: the sky-high roller coaster, the 360-degree rotating Ferris wheel, the pirate ship, and the roller coaster. The baby didn't pick anything that wasn't thrilling. Listening to the screams of the tourists on these rides, Su Zhe sincerely did not want to play.

"Baby, little kids can't play these. Big brother will take Baby to ride the carousel, okay?" Su Zhe, of course, would not admit that he was afraid, so he gave a fabricated reason.

After much persuasion, Su Zhe finally tricked the baby into playing some less thrilling games.

However, after playing a few games, the baby didn't seem very happy. To cheer the baby up, Su Zhe had no choice but to accompany her on the pirate ship. When he mustered the courage to queue up and take the baby on the pirate ship, she pulled him to the last row of seats, while he had planned to sit in the middle.

When the pirate ship started, his heart almost jumped out of his chest. He had never felt time was so long; the few minutes felt endless. He envied the baby for being able to scream, but to save face, he held back his own screams.

When the pirate ship stopped, he felt his legs go weak, and he walked unsteadily, holding the baby's hand. He thought the baby would be scared after the ride, but to his surprise, she bounced around, wanting to play again. Su Zhe felt very hurt. In the end, he was dragged by the baby to ride the roller coaster. Once on, he found the roller coaster even more thrilling than the pirate ship, challenging his heart even more.

Finally, he couldn't hold back and screamed with the baby, which helped release a lot of fear. After the ride, his feet felt like they were walking on cotton, soft and unsteady, making it hard to balance.

After playing a few more rides, he said all the nice things he could to get the baby to eat and rest. He took her to the KFC inside the amusement park and ordered a lot of food, filling the table. He silently hoped the baby would eat slowly, the longer the better.

His heart rate had not yet returned to normal, but unfortunately, the baby, after eating a little, wanted to play again. Su Zhe had to take her back to the rides with a bitter face.

Finally, he took the baby to play bumper cars. This game didn't scare Su Zhe, and the baby loved it. They sat in one car, with the baby controlling the steering wheel, and Su Zhe using both hands to protect her from collisions.

They played bumper cars again and again, with different batches of tourists coming and going. The baby, undeterred, often initiated collisions with other cars, laughing like a silver bell each time she succeeded, which made Su Zhe's mood much better.

However, when others retaliated with their bumper cars, Su Zhe had a hard time. The baby, protected by Su Zhe, was fine, but Su Zhe often got bumped and bruised.

Su Zhe accompanied the baby until it was very dark, and only when he saw the baby was tired did he take her home.

Just as they were about to leave the amusement park, a man with a camera stopped them.

"Excuse me, can I take a moment of your time? I am an employee of the amusement park, mainly responsible for publicity." The man, wearing a hat, introduced himself and continued: "Today, I was looking for inspiration for the amusement park's publicity. Unexpectedly, I met you two while wandering around. I apologize for taking some photos of you without your permission."

The man, seeing that Su Zhe was not speaking or angry, continued: "To capture the authenticity, I didn't notify you. I apologize again. I would like to use your photos for the amusement park's publicity. Would you agree, sir? Of course, the amusement park is willing to pay a fee."

Su Zhe asked to see the photos. The man's photography skills were good, and there were many photos, from when Su Zhe and the baby entered the amusement park, riding the pirate ship, the roller coaster, and at KFC, to playing bumper cars. Each photo was very beautiful, conveying warmth, beauty, and authenticity. After thinking, Su Zhe felt the photos wouldn't have a significant impact on him and the baby, so he agreed. However, he did not accept the fee; he only asked for a copy of all the photos.

With such simple conditions, the man eagerly agreed and asked for Su Zhe's contact information, promising to invite him to see the results when they were ready.

Su Zhe smiled and said he would definitely come if there was an opportunity, then carried the tired baby home.
