Chapter 29

After dinner, Haomeng and Guoguo were watching *Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs* on the sofa. Weishufen had taken down the security door outside early. Haomeng didn’t think much of it, since he wasn’t going out anyway.
By around nine o'clock, the little girl was yawning and feeling sleepy.
After Weishufen carried her upstairs and put her to bed, she came back down. Her face flushed, she turned off all the lights downstairs, but the TV was so big that it didn’t matter whether the lights were on or off.
"Xiaomeng, let’s watch the movie on this. Xiaomei said it’s good!" She said, handing the USB drive to Haomeng, her face burning.
Movies from the neighboring clothing store? Haomeng was taken aback for a moment, but he didn’t overthink it. He smiled, got up, and plugged the USB drive into the large LCD TV. There were three movies in the folder. He asked, "Which one should we watch?"
*Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs*, *The Little Match Girl*, *Big Head Dad*? Haomeng was wondering why they were all animated films, but since Weishufen had suggested it and said she wanted to watch it, what could he say? They would just watch it!
"Any of them is fine. She said they’re all good!" Weishufen said in a low voice, not daring to look at Haomeng.
Haomeng randomly clicked on one and sat down on the sofa, waiting for the plot to develop. Weishufen was sitting next to him, about a meter away.
"&&%*……(&¥"
A Japanese film? Haomeng was no stranger to Japanese 'art' films. Although the beginning of the story was quite proper and the 'actress' was pretty, everyone knew what would happen next.
"Sufen, how about we change to a different movie?" Haomeng couldn’t help but glance at Weishufen, hoping to stop the situation before it got out of hand. How could Changmei recommend such a movie to Weishufen and suggest they watch it together? This was teaching her bad things!
Weishufen’s face was red as she stared at the screen, her voice trembling. "Let’s just watch this one. Changmei said it’s good!"
Changmei said it’s good?
Haomeng’s heart skipped a beat. Could it be that Weishufen knew what the movie would show?
"This isn’t a good movie!" He whispered, hoping to avoid an awkward situation later.
However, Weishufen seemed not to hear him. Her eyes were fixed on the screen, and she showed no intention of changing the movie. She sat steadily on the sofa. Haomeng’s suspicions grew. Even the most well-behaved man would have some excitement, and Haomeng was not that well-behaved. Since Weishufen had requested it, they would watch it.
He had never watched such a Japanese art film with a woman before, and his heart was racing.
Weishufen had always given Haomeng a very good impression. She was kind and beautiful, the perfect image of a neighbor’s big sister. Being with her made him feel at ease. He had thoughts about her, but deep down, he didn’t want to do anything that would hurt Weishufen. Some things, once revealed, couldn’t be undone. He didn’t want Weishufen to leave, and he couldn’t bear to part with Guoguo.
After about ten minutes, Weishufen felt her heart beating faster and her body becoming uncomfortable. She sneaked a glance at Haomeng, who was sitting next to her. The TV was already showing some rather explicit scenes.
Haomeng stared at the TV, and as he turned his head, he caught Weishufen’s gaze. Both of them felt a bit uneasy. But this kind of ambiguity was very appealing, more so than direct and explicit actions. As they say, it’s all about the mood and the taste!
"Sufen!"
"Uh-huh!"
Weishufen responded softly but showed no intention of getting up. Haomeng understood her thoughts. This must have been Changmei’s doing. Knowing it was Changmei’s idea, Haomeng wasn’t angry; rather, he was grateful.
No one is perfect. Haomeng couldn’t claim to be a saint, and he certainly wasn’t as self-controlled as Liu Xiaohui. He was a man, and when something was offered to him, he couldn’t resist.
Without saying more, Haomeng reached out and pulled Weishufen into his arms.
"Uh-huh!" Weishufen let out a soft hum, her face flushed, and she didn’t struggle. She went limp in Haomeng’s arms, her face turning red as she closed her eyes.
The rest, you can imagine. The dimly lit room, the large LCD TV playing a Japanese art film, the sofa, a man, and a woman willing to be taken...
After the storm, the calm.
"Sufen, do you regret it?" Haomeng asked softly in the darkness.
The TV was off, and the only sounds in the room were their heavy breathing. The street outside was quiet, with no cars passing by. It was late at night, and the room was dimly lit by a few indicator lights. If your eyesight wasn’t good, you couldn’t see much, but they were pressed closely together, and they could hear each other’s heartbeats.
"I don’t regret it. I’m a withered flower, and my body isn’t worth much," Weishufen said softly.
Haomeng smiled bitterly and shook his head. In her mind, the concept of intimacy between men and women was still stuck in the old society. When they were intimate, she blushed and refused to accept any position other than the most traditional one. Haomeng had to force her to change positions, as she was afraid of waking Guoguo upstairs.
"Was it Changmei who told you to do this?" Haomeng asked curiously.
Weishufen, who couldn’t lie, softly said, "Uh-huh," and then added, "Don’t blame her. Changmei was doing this for me and Guoguo. If I didn’t give myself to you, I always felt uneasy. I live here, eat your food, and stay in your house, and I have nothing to repay you with. As long as you don’t abandon me in the future, I’ll give myself to you. When you get tired of me, just tell me, and I’ll take Guoguo and leave!"
Haomeng sighed inwardly. What good karma had he accumulated in his past life to deserve such good fortune in this one?
"As long as you’re willing, I’m willing to take care of you and Guoguo for the rest of my life," Haomeng whispered in her ear. A traditional woman who gives you her most precious possession, what else could she want but a man’s promise?
Weishufen didn’t need any formal recognition. She just hoped that in the future, she and Guoguo would have someone to rely on, and that would make her content.
"Mom, where are you?"
In the morning, Guoguo’s voice came from upstairs, startling the two of them.
Weishufen was startled, quickly put on her clothes, and rushed upstairs. She didn’t want her daughter to know about this, and she didn’t know how to explain it!
Haomeng watched Weishufen’s back and smiled. He put on his clothes and opened the door. Standing at the door, he lazily stretched, enjoying the nice weather and the bright, sunny day.
Life is like this, what more could one ask for!
In the kitchen, Weishufen thought about last night, her face still burning. How did it all happen so suddenly? How did Changmei know that watching that movie with Haomeng would definitely lead to something? She was still wondering about it!
