Chapter 2: We’re Deskmates (2)

Today was the most relaxing day Qiao Wei ever had since the downfall of the Qiao family.

This old-fashioned nerd, no matter which class, until the class ended, she was working on her exercise book, except when she was going to the bathroom, but… Ah Xin didn’t work on exercise books alone, she was dragging her along to work on her own exercise books… Qiao Wei suspected that the school-issued exercise books would soon be done by this nerd.

Qiao Wei almost choked, “You have finished your homework before going home!?”

”What’s the problem?”

”No… no problem.” The world of nerds, she, a mortal, will never understand.

She watched her classmates were almost gone and soon remembered what she was going to face back home, the corners of her mouth drooping slightly, her good mood instantly gone.

She hadn’t had her mind on studying this semester. Who could be in the mood to study when something so big happened at home? The final exam is right on the corner, and whether or not she can mintain her top 20 grades is a big question.

Whenever she came home she would hear her mother’s curses, complaints, and her father was blaming her for the Qiao family’s downfall, thinking that if she hadn’t provoke Lin Xiaoai, the Qiao family wouldn’t be in trouble.

”Let’s go.”

Ah Xin put her homework in her desk drawer, packed her bag, and helped Qiao Wei packing her books. It had been a long time since anyone had been so kind to Qiao Wei, after all, be it at home, or at school, the students hated her, and even the teachers were full of malice towards her.

”I’ll take you home.”

”You….” Qiao Wei was kinda annoyed, she knew this nerd wasn’t a bad person, but Ah Xin would casually made her angry, “I’m just asking, no one will be nice to anyone for no reason, what is your purpose, you definitely have a purpose.”

It’s just that if Ah Xin wanted money, she currently had no money, if Ah Xin wanted status, she had no status, what could this nerd want from her? There used to be many people around her, approaching her for various purposes, and when Qiao family faced their downfall, those people left her.

The corners of Ah Xin’s lips are slightly raised, and behind the black-framed glasses, Qiao Wei noticed the smile in her eyes, “I hate Lin Xiaoai, can you help me to beat Lin Xiaoai?”

Ah Xin thought about it, indeed if you want to help someone for no reason, very suspicious. So it would be better to establish a common enemy, so Qiao Wei would stop her uneasiness, not worrying that she had ulterior motives.

Ah Xin snapped back from her thought and grabbed Qiao Wei, who had an excited face, “Student Qiao Wei, this is undesirable, we lived in a society of law and order, and I don’t promote violence on campus. ”Yun Xin, what should I do? What do you think I should do? I don’t want to transfer schools, I don’t want to drop out, I’m only sixteen years old….”

Ah Xin held Qiao Wei’s hand, patted her, took out a tissue and slowly wiped her tears, “Why are you crying? Did you forget that you’re so excellent? Why don’t you earn such small tuition yourself?”

The two walked into the host’s house together, and Ah Xin told him that Qiao Wei was good at piano and English. Qiao Wei was feeling timid, but she knew that this was an opportunity. she lifted her chin to reveal her confident side, sat down in front of the piano and began to play.

She was very nervous, but maybe because subconsciously she didn’t want to be embarrassed, she played a song perfectly. The host family was so pleased that they hired her to be the piano teacher for the child on the spot, and the remuneration was also very generous.

Later on, she read a paragraph in English and she saw the host’s family look satisfied, and Qiao Wei felt as if she was looking at a treasure, she gained her confidence back. The feeling of being recognized felt nice. The host family was more than happy to hire her to help their child with their English lessons.

After walking out of the villa, Qiao Wei was covered in cold sweat, and then she hugged Ah Xin, as if she had lost all her strength. She wrapped her arms around Ah Xin and whimpered in relief.

”He said my piano skill is great and I speak English so well.”
