When Touya started to dust the hallway with a rag, Akio frantically came to stop him.

“It’s all right, it’s the least I can do.”

He could hear Kudou-san in the kitchen, and even Akio and Natsuki were restlessly going around doing chores, so he didn’t want to be the only one lazing around.

“You’re a guest, Touya, and it’s our job.”

“But I can’t just sit around while you all work. I figured if we all split the work, it would get done faster.”

“Right……”

Akio nodded then started to wring a rag next to him. When the two of them started cleaning next to each other, Natsuki rushed over with broom in his hand.

“Me too!”

Kiri had told him to take it easy, but for now, he would spend the morning mopping the floors in the house. Akio and Natsuki seemed to be rather happy Touya was helping them with their work, and were in high-spirits. Kudou-san and the children seemed to take care of the house, but since it was such a large house, it must have been difficult. Honestly, being allowed to help made him feel more relaxed. He had suddenly been taken in to this unfamiliar home and had been in their care while he was still unsure of what he was. He didn’t want to be constantly pampered. Besides, moving around like this put him at ease somehow. Napping on the veranda seemed to be more cat-like though.
