After they passed her into the sitting room, Suzu shut the door with a bang as she chuckled.

At first glance she was lovely, but her heavy gaze bothered him a bit.

“……she was really cute, and pretty.”

“That’s because she’s pretending to be a cat. Her true form is a little different from that.”

So cats look down on other cats too—he thought as the atmosphere all around the room sent shivers down his spine for some reason. He was unable to relax.

“What’s wrong? Don’t worry, she won’t eat you.”

He must have sensed his nervousness. Kiri smiled as if he were teasing him.

“I just wanted to talk in peace for a bit. Without Akio and Natsuki. ……right, I didn’t ask for the anmitsu. Wait a moment.”

Kiri stood up from the low table he had been sitting behind temporarily, then left the room. Left behind, Touya started to look around his surroundings. Even though he just went to ask for some anmitsu, Kiri didn’t come back for a while. He saw a door in the sitting room that seemed to lead to a connecting room. He knew he shouldn’t peek into it without permission, but he couldn’t hold back his curiosity about what sort of room it was. He slowly approached it. When he peeked inside there was futon laid out in the dark room even though it was noon.
