“I’m going out to answer a call.”

She took her phone and went into a quiet corner.

Qian Heng’s plain statement came over the phone: “Cheng Yao, the water pipe is blocked again.”

Cheng Yao was stunned and calmly said: “In this case, I suggest you contact the property owner or the landlord.”

“I have already contacted them. They want me to wait until tomorrow.” Qian Heng’s voice was very dissatisfied, “Where are you? Come back and unplug the water pipe otherwise I can’t wash my hands.”

Excuse me??? Cheng Yao thought, what does being able to wash your hands or not got anything to do with me?

Cheng Yao got angry but she could only keep smiling because he was the boss. She restrained herself and continued, “Boss, have you forgotten? I’m out tonight at the welcoming party for the newcomers with everyone else. As a newcomer myself, how can I just casually leave?”

“Where is it held?”

Ha, Cheng Yao thought to herself, he’s afraid I’m lying.

“I’m in Lambach, the German beer restaurant. If you don’t believe me, how about I send you my location?”

Qian Heng was finally quiet. However, even though he didn’t speak Cheng Yao could imagine his gloomy face and Cheng Yao felt a little guilty. But just as she wanted to speak some comforting words, she heard “beep beep” coming from the phone…

Qian Heng didn’t even say goodbye and just hung up the phone…

So rude! Just because she couldn’t go home straight away to fix the pipe, she had lost any value in his eyes. Qian Heng, will being a little more of a gentleman kill you?!

Cheng Yao quietly slandered in her heart and returned to the private room.

In the room everyone was gossiping. Although Bao Rui, the one who organised the gathering went to the bathroom, the rest were familiar with each other by now. The atmosphere was just right. Cheng Yao was quickly amused by the various strange cases and clients mentioned by the lawyers. She listened with relish while eating.

Li Chengxuan and Zhang Yang were lively and outgoing. They were very caring towards Cheng Yao, the newcomer. During this meal they were considerate, gentlemanly and approachable without any sense of discomfort.

Li Chengxuan filled Cheng Yao’s cup with tea and said. “To be honest, I bet you will follow Qian Heng for less than half a year. He has a bad temper, his mouth is poisonous and he is insensitive. You would get so angry but he wouldn’t feel like he has done anything wrong at all. He wouldn’t even think about taking care of the girls.” While talking he took out his business card. “Xiao Cheng, if you want to quit, remember to contact me. We’re also a law firm which specialises in family disputes. The atmosphere between colleagues is very good and I also like to communicate with my subordinates. I won’t face my co-workers with a cold face all day. If you come to our firm, you’ll realise that the difference between lawyers and partners is very big!”

“Li Chengxuan, it’s been a long time.”

Just when Li Chengxuan had finished smearing Qian Heng’s name, the person who he had been talking about appeared behind him in a gloomy manner.

Qian Heng ignored the mixed expressions of everyone present in the room. He walked straight to Li Chengxuan and sat down next to him. Qian Heng smiled slightly: “The last time I saw you, it seemed to be around two months ago with the inheritance case? As the lawyer of the other party, you lost the final trial. Your client didn’t get a single cent, right?”

Two children and you didn’t get custody rights for either one of them. If I remember correctly, the client you fought for found relatives to come to your house to threaten to beat you?”

Qian Heng finished speaking slowly and took a look at Cheng Yao, “Looking at it this way, it’s true that the difference between a Partner and lawyer is very big.”

Qian Heng basically slayed Li Chengxuan. It was a battlefield without gunpowder, a merciless and clean kill.

“Come on, Qian Heng, it’s rare to see you, have some tea.” Zhang Yang picked up the teacup trying to ease the atmosphere. “It’s been a long time, what case are you busy with now? Are you going to rob me of my cases again?”

It was a pity, this was a very unwise move, the poor lawyer rescued Li Chengxuan but had set himself up instead…

Qian Heng was very calm, “No, I won’t rob you of any cases.”

Qian Heng frowned and looked at the door, “Bao Rui? Didn’t you have a sprained foot and couldn’t move at all? You applied to work from home because you couldn’t come to the company? How did you get here?”

Cheng Yao couldn’t bear to watch, this was simply the biggest tragedy on earth…

However, Bao Rui was a veteran of the Five Poison Sect after all.
