On the top floor of a certain high-rise building, in a room with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the entire city…

The afternoon sun spilled onto the floor of the spacious office through the transparent floor-to-ceiling windows. The conference table was scattered with snacks and various beverage bottles. On the leather reception sofa sat a man and woman. They were dressed up to the nines. If they were walking down the street, they would attract the admiration of every passerby.

The man leaned back against the sofa in a relaxed posture. He looked down at his phone and said, “Men are simple creatures. You just give him what he really needs, and he will follow you to the end of the earth.”

The woman glared at him angrily with a pair of big, charming, bright eyes. “But he needs for nothing! All he thinks about all day is his business and how to make more goddamn money!”

“That’s easy then. He’s a career-man, right? The Gu family has money and a good background. You can offer him a marriage of convenience. After getting married, he can stay focused on his business. He will definitely agree. You can even continue fooling around outside after the wedding. It’s a win-win. Why not?”

“Bu-But!” The woman didn’t want a political marriage. After meeting Bai Jun, she didn’t want to play anymore.

“Right, he also values family a lot!”

“Values family? Are you sure?” The man raised his brow.

“I’m sure! Absolutely, one hundred percent sure!” the woman said emphatically. She remembered how concerned he was over his family members… so much so that it made her a little jealous.

“Then give it up. With your personality, no one wants to marry you into their family,” Gu Ze replied bluntly.

“My personality? What’s wrong with my personality?!” The woman got up to straddle the man’s lap. She shimmied her hips and ground against his dormant crotch.

“Stop, stop, stop! Can’t you be proper?” The man pushed her off. He wasn’t in the mood for this.

The woman pursed her crimson painted lips, “Then explain it to me! What’s wrong with my personality?!”

“You only know how to play. Who will do the housework when you marry? Who will raise the children? Bai Jun?”

The woman frowned, “Isn’t that what a nanny is for? … However, …children…” Her eyes gradually brightened.

The man watched her epiphany with a helpless expression.

“You better not think about it. Men hate being threatened. If you threaten him with a child… You will definitely hit a dead-end… Unless he is extremely conservative and values family…”

“He does value family!” the woman said with certainty.

“Men like that are like diamonds in a goldmine. …Bai Jun…? Impossible. I’ve done my part to persuade you. You can judge for yourself. I have a meeting, so you have to go. I’ll give you a ride later.” The man rubbed his forehead in frustration.

The woman’s eyes glittered with determination. She walked away with an extra pep in her step.

Even after so many years, this woman was still so immature. She’s always doing things without thinking, always making him feel helpless. No matter how much he tried, he could never control her. It’s all because her parents spoiled her too much when she was young— ingrained her with that rotten personality.

The man continued to play with his phone. He stared at the screen with rapt attention. Soon, a strange look of interest lit up his eyes. He sat up and dialed a number. Gone was his look of boredom, his face was full of animation, and his voice brimmed with excitement.

“Yes, okay. Go ahead with the job. I’ll leave it to you.”
