Mo Chen asked his teammates to help clean the club, but of course he didn’t stay idle either—he went to tidy up the room on the second floor of the club, the one next door to his own room.
His teammates were really puzzled.
“What kind of connections does this new person have?” Ling Shuyi asked Lan Yan in a low voice as he swept the floor beside him.
Lan Yan was half a head taller than him, so he had to bow his head in order to reply to him, “Anyway, they’re definitely not your average new person.”
“It’s really strange. I haven’t heard about the captain having any friends who play SGH really well?” Chen Wei had also grabbed a rag and joined the party, “And the way he’s acting isn’t as if it’s a friend who’s coming, but more like…”
“An inspection by his boss!” Ling Shuyi answered.
Chen Wei immediately snapped his fingers, showing his approval. “Young man, brilliant!”
As soon as he spoke, the three of them felt Mo Chen’s gaze on them. They dispersed silently, pretending that nothing had just happened.
Mo Chen was standing on the stairs, and looked in the direction of the three of them for a while. He pretended not to see anything and walked down the stairs, sitting down on the sofa in the lobby.
At this time, Coach Chen Xiao was pouring himself a cup of water. When he saw Mo Chen walking over, he poured another cup and brought it over to him, sitting next to him naturally.
Mo Chen impolitely picked up the cup of water and drank a mouthful.
Chen Xiao saw that he was in a good mood today, so he tentatively asked, “First of all, is the person who is coming tomorrow a man or woman?”
“Man,” Mo Chen didn’t even turn his head when he answered.
“Have you known each other for a long time?” Chen Xiao then asked.
Mo Chen thought, does two months count as a long time?
It shouldn’t count.
However, he didn’t know why, but he felt like he had known Wen Xi for much longer.
In the end, he replied truthfully, “Not long, two months ba.”
Chen Xiao raised his eyebrow and asked, “Just two months, yet you’re spending this much effort on him?”
“He’s worth it.”
Mo Chen pretty much blurted out these three words. Not only was Chen Xiao a little surprised, but so was the trio eavesdropping.
What kind of sacred person could make the captain say he was “worth it”? Could it be that he was an even better player than the captain?
If that was really so, that meant….
Chen Xiao hesitated for a while before finally asking the question that everyone was worried about, “After he comes, will he directly become a regular player?”
“Whoever has the ability will become a regular player,” Mo Chen answered, drinking some more water. He then got up and went upstairs, not giving Chen Xiao the opportunity to inquire further.
Chen Xiao watched his back retreat. When he turned around, he found that no matter if it was Ling Shuyi, Chen Wei, or Lan Yan, they were all grim-faced at the moment.
Inviting a new member should be a happy event. Who didn’t want their own club to grow strong and get a secondary team, tertiary team, and so on?
But there was a very embarrassing problem. CLM’s secondary team was too weak—not even mentioning how the players kept changing, the team didn’t have any achievements to show.
Therefore, no one wanted to be squeezed into the secondary team by a new player.
After a period of silence, Chen Wei took the lead to break the awkward atmosphere, “Hey, what are you afraid of? This newcomer hasn’t even arrived yet ma! Don’t scare yourselves. What’s more, even if you really got pushed out by him, you would still be a substitute for the main team. You wouldn’t go to the secondary team!”
“That’s true,” Ling Shuyi was relieved, “Our original substitutes left, so all of our current substitutes were pulled from the secondary team before the competition. However, they’re much weaker than us. If an awesome rookie comes who can help us win the championship, then I would be perfectly willing to be a substitute.”
Hearing this, Lan Yan looked at him silently.
Chen Xiao’s gaze swept across their three faces. He paused for a moment on Lan Yan, but also didn’t say anything.
CLM team currently had four official players, with Mo Chen undoubtedly the main force, a case of a single person propping up the entire team.
Among the remaining three, the youngest and the one with the most potential was Kitty Ling Shuyi. Although he wasn’t very stable, he definitely had a place in best moments in SGH compilations.
Although Chen Wei didn’t have any brilliant performances, as a medic, he wasn’t bad at providing support.
As for Lan Yan….
He was the oldest member of the team. He had contributed a lot when CLM was first established—Last year, his efforts had also helped CLM reach the global finals.
However, in this year’s competition, from spring to summer, from their team training to the domestic trials, the regression in his skills was almost visible to the naked eye.
When the newcomer came, where would he decide to go?
Chen Xiao looked away and drank in silence.
——It would depend on this new person’s strength.

The next day, Mo Chen went out early.
Chen Xiao asked him what he was going to do, and he replied that he was going to pick up the new person.
Chen Xiao thought that he had heard wrong, and didn’t have time to react before Mo Chen already had gotten into the car.
“Pick up the new person? He’s going to pick him up himself!” Chen Wei was in a state of disbelief after finding out. “Is this new person really that extravagant?”
“Wtf, I already thought that the captain personally setting up his room for him was awesome. I didn’t expect that…” Ling Shuyi appeared behind Chen Wei and gave him a bear hug, hooking an arm around his neck as he nearly jumped onto the other.
Of course, Chen Wei threw him off with disgust. “Are you a monkey or what…” after complaining about Ling Shuyi, he then complained about Mo Chen, “Captain is really something. We almost never see him worrying about us, but now he’s taking such good care of this new person…… I seriously suspect that the person he’s going to pick up isn’t a teammate at all, but a little lover that he’s developing!”
“Don’t speak nonsense.” Chen Xiao glared at Chen Wei.
Chen Wei turned his head to avoid his gaze, not at all deterred as he continued, “I’m not wrong! When he went to visit his little lover previously, he would always leave around now!“
“Yi?” This reminded everyone, and Ling Shuyi was the first to react, “That’s really true. He said that he was going on a date with a very important person several times, and he always left around this time. I still don’t know who the very important person he keeps talking about is.”
At this time, Lan Yan had just walked into the lobby. Hearing this sentence, he replied instinctively, “I thought it was his family.”
In the whole club, Lan Yan was the one who had known Mo Chen the longest. He knew that Mo Chen had few people who he counted as friends. Therefore, it was impossible for him to personally drive over to pick up a friend, and it could only be a family member.
“I always thought it was a lover,” Chen Wei said, “I had originally thought that they were a woman, but it seems that our captain still likes men.”
Ling Shuyi listened to him speak and thought about it. The captain had been acting differently recently, with his expressions growing increasingly e fantastic, and more frequent phone calls.
There were a few times when he heard the other use a gentle tone on the phone, causing Ling Shuyi to break out in goosebumps.
Maybe he really had started to date someone behind their backs….
“Hey, let’s make a bet ba!” All of a sudden, Ling Shuyi’s brain had come up with this idea, and he said, “Let’s guess what the relationship between this person and the captain is!”
“Lover!” Chen Wei firmly supported this answer.
“Relative ba,” Lan Yan guessed.
“His Di,” Chen Xiao said.
Ling Shuyi said, “My guess is that they’re someone he dug up and seduced from another strong team! Maybe he’s even a foreigner!”
“Yi…” Chen Wei gave up, “Kitty’s brain hole is always so peculiar and elegant.”
“On the contrary, it’s the most likely answer,” Chen Xiao laughed and said, “So what are we betting?”
After a discussion, the four of them decided to bet on one month’s worth of breakfast—whoever lost would be the one to buy breakfast for the next month.
If they all lost, then each of them would be responsible for breakfast for a quarter of the month.
After the bet was established, the four of them realized a problem—no matter who lost or who won, Mo Chen would be getting free breakfast for a month, right?
Which idiot had put forward these dumb betting stakes?!

At this time, Mo Chen didn’t know what idiotic kind, generous thing his teammates and coach had done.
He happily drove to Wen Xi’s building to pick him up.
Wen Xi was wearing a new outfit today.
Every time he met with Mo Chen, he wore a different outfit, all of which he had determined were the most handsome after careful consideration.
Mo Chen had noticed this and said, “What you’re wearing today is very cute.”
“Cough.” Wen Xi sat in the car and kept his gaze forward, not quite daring enough to look in Mo Chen’s direction.
He didn’t know why, but no matter how many times he met Mo Chen, he would unconsciously become nervous after meeting.
Yet, when he had met Magic Xi for the first time, he had been very relaxed throughout the entire process….
However, every time they met, Mo Chen would chat with him to get him to gradually relax.
“What do you want to know about CLM? You can ask me now,” Mo Chen said.
Wen Xi thought about it and asked, “How long do you guys train every day ah?”
Mo Chen replied, “Normally, we start training at 9 a.m., eat at 12 p.m., and continue training at 1 p.m. until 6 p.m. There’s free time in the evening, where you can either train or rest. ”
After a pause, he added, “Of course, we don’t train every single day. We still have a day off every week, on Sunday.”
“Oh…” after hearing his response, Wen Xi felt it sounded very tiring ah.
“What’s more, cellphones are confiscated during training,” Mo Chen said, “They’re taken in the morning and returned in the evening.”
“Eh?” Wen Xi subconsciously clutched the cellphone in his hand.
Noticing his movement, Mo Chen couldn’t help laughing and said, “But I am the captain, so I have the final say. As long as you train well, we don’t have to confiscate your cellphone.”
“So it’s like that ah… Okay, I’ll train well, ” Wen Xi replied, secretly relieved.
It was too cruel to confiscate his cellphone or other things. He couldn’t imagine how it would feel for his cellphone to not be at his side.
Mo Chen laughed, adding on, “Don’t worry, throughout all of CLM, I’m the only one who has the final say. Whatever rule you don’t like, I’ll just change it.”
Wen Xi looked at him in surprise.
He knew that Mo Chen had a lot of say in CLM. After all, he was CLM’s main player and one of its founders. However, he didn’t expect that his “lots of say” was actually so great!
Regarding this matter, Wen Xi had really never checked who the owner of the CLM club was.
“Anything else?” Mo Chen asked.
Wen Xi pursed his lower lip, hesitating for a moment before asking a question that he had always wanted to know, but had never dared to ask
“Last year’s global finals….Why were you late?”
