The atmosphere in the backseat became more mysterious after Ji Mingshu’s comment, with the car recovering its silence.

The driver became so nervous that he didn’t dare breathe freely. His eyes were fixed straight ahead, first dropping Gu Kaiyang off at Xinggang International before driving north towards the Clearwater district.

The night sky was clear after being washed by the rain, and the Bently sped towards its destination on the highway. With Ji Mingshu and Cen Sen maintaining their silence, the car was quiet throughout the entire ride.

Ji Mingshu and Cen Sen’s wedding house was the thirteenth building of the Clearwater district, and they’ve been living here ever after.

Upon opening the door, organized furniture appeared in sight, with the pendant lamp that hung on the ceiling shining brightly.

“You haven’t lived in the house recently?” Cen Sen asked with an indicative tone after sweeping a glance around the house.

“Yeah, I went out to find some cute hunks.”

Ji Mingshu said in a relaxed tone as she leaned on the wall with her arms crossed.

Cen Sen’s eyes were calm.

Ji Mingshu fearlessly tilted her head and lifted the corners of her mouth with amusement.

Some people just like to fake, she thought. The man pretended to be oblivious even though he knew her every move. They haven’t met for two years, yet he doesn’t believe that his old fashioned greeting was hilarious and extra.

The two of them stared at each other for a few seconds before Cen Sen moved his eyes away. He never liked to spend too much time on useless topics, especially with his wife, whose brain operates on a short circuit due to her obsession with diamonds.

The house was cold, even with the automatic thermostat, perhaps because of the lack of people.

Ji Mingshu kicked off her high heels and sighed. She watched Cen Sen unbutton his shirt and make his way to the second floor.

They still slept together despite having barely any chemistry between them. Their bedroom on the second floor was spacious, with a side door leading to an even more spacious dressing room.

Cen Sen was opening the door to the dressing room when Ji Mingshu entered the bedroom.

Within the dressing room, the closet was placed horizontally against the wall, with a watch and jewelry table at the center of the room. The colorful cabinet glass appeared in Cen Shen’s sight as he opened the lights.

Cen Sen froze.

Ji Mingshu stood in front of a full-body mirror in the bedroom, untying the ribbons on her dress.

“Mingshu.” Cen Sen suddenly called out to her.

“Yes?” She glanced away from the mirror.

“Come and tidy this.”

Cen Sen tilted his body sideways by the dressing room entrance. He frowned and pulled his tie with a force that left some wrinkles on his collar.

Ji Mingshu finally saw the gift bags and boxes lying on the floor; there wasn’t any space left.

A bit surprised, she looked through the bags, and recalled, “These are gifts from those brand sponsors… this much already?”

Ever since Cen Sen Left for Australia, Ji Mingshu spent most of his time abroad, and even when she came back to the city, she lived in her private apartment downtown.

She was too lazy to change the address she registered with the brands, so the gifts were all delivered to the Clearwater residence.

Previously, the housekeeper did call her to ask where to place these gifts, but she was busy at the time, so she just said to put them in the dressing room. She didn’t think it would stack up this fast.

“So much! Very sorry, I’ll organize it.”

Although Ji Mingshu apologized, her body language showed that she was not in the least sorry nor intended to organize.

She even picked up one of the shawls in amusement while commenting, “This shawl is way too thick; maybe I can bring it with me to Antarctica and put it on the penguins.”
