Chapter 74

Watching the massive waves rush towards her, Lin knew it was too late to stop, so she could only... face them head-on!

Lin had the Leviathan tightly adhere to the rock wall with its tentacles and suction cups, and created many barbed hooks to embed into the cracks of the rock wall, firmly securing the Leviathan. At the same time, she reinforced the shells of all the transporters in the tsunami.

When Lin was ready, the tsunami was already approaching the Northern Land, with the highest wave peak towering over the cliff by more than ten meters.

It's coming...

Boom—!!

A wall of water over a hundred meters high collided with the rock wall, as if the entire world was shaking. The intense vibrations continuously stimulated Lin's sensory cells, and the powerful water flow battered the Leviathan, which was firmly attached to the rock wall, as if trying to tear it apart.

In this situation, Lin's eyes could not see anything clearly, but she could still judge what was happening through her sense of touch.

Most of the transporters transmitted intense pain, even with their armor, their bodies were instantly crushed by the violent impact, undoubtedly colliding with the rock wall.

Some transporters were at a higher position and did not hit the rock wall; instead, they were thrown into the air by the tsunami, tumbling in the air before landing heavily on the land. The intense pain told Lin that they had become a mess of flesh.

All of this lasted only an instant. Soon, the tsunami, having lost its momentum, began to retreat into the sea. The Leviathan could feel the water that had been rushing upwards now rapidly retreating. Soon, the ocean and the land returned to calm, as if nothing had happened.

The Leviathan remained tightly attached to the rock wall, saved by the suction cups and hooks. However, the transporters were a different story...

The transporters that had collided with the rock wall had all lost contact, and even if some cells were still alive, they were of no use.

Although those strange fireballs did not appear here, the heat from the water was spreading from a distance, and the cells would soon be killed by the high temperature.

The only hope was on the land...

Some of the transporters that were thrown onto the land by the tsunami survived. They were all near the edge of the land close to the cliff, with a total of... 31.

Only 31 transporters survived? What a terrible disaster, a hundred million years of nutrients, all gone just like that.

But Lin survived, and all the evolutionary information and data on other organisms were perfectly preserved. As long as she continued, she would soon be able to revive!

Now, the crisis had not yet passed, and Lin had to act quickly. The temperature in the sea was still rising, and even the Leviathan found it difficult to resist such high temperatures. Lin had to make the Leviathan climb up the cliff.

Like crawling on land, the Leviathan used its tentacles' suction cups to tightly adhere to the cliff, but this was not enough to pull its three-meter-long body out of the water.

Lin then transformed the hooks used for anchoring into six movable, barbed legs, constructing a hydraulic system-like structure inside them. The force they generated could push the Leviathan on land.

With these new abilities, the Leviathan could now climb up the cliff.

The transporters on land were now covered in armor, and their original eyes were covered, so they could not see anything. If Lin were to create eyes, the water inside might leak out, so she could only wait until the Leviathan reached the land to check their condition.

Lin knew she had to act quickly, but dragging a three-meter-long body up such a high cliff was not an easy task. Although Lin had considered shedding some organs or water, she did not know what might happen on land, so it was better to keep everything.

Fortunately, the Leviathan had enough nutrients to repair damaged cells and replenish nutrients in a timely manner, so Lin did not experience fatigue. The Leviathan would eventually climb up.

However, the problem was... the Leviathan was not the only one climbing.

The Leviathan had climbed about 30%, and Lin used a few eye tentacles on its back to observe the surroundings. She saw some creatures crawling out of the sea...

Brontoscorpio.

Strange, why would they come out of the sea? Did they follow the tsunami here? Or were there Brontoscorpio in the sea floor here, and they couldn't stand the rising water temperature, so they came out?

Regardless of the reason, they were a problem.

The Brontoscorpio had barbed legs, which allowed them to support themselves and climb up the cliff. Although they currently had no intention of attacking, if they found no danger at the top, their first action would be to find food to replenish the energy they lost in the disaster.

There might be some fish or other creatures on the land that were washed up by the tsunami, but the most obvious food source was Lin's transporters.

Lin could not let them reach the land first.

Is this what they call a 'race'? An interesting term.

The Leviathan struggled to climb up the cliff, but its body was heavy, and several Brontoscorpio were already a few meters below it. Seeing the Leviathan above, they raised their scorpion-like tails and large pincers, ready to attack.

They were already looking for food before even reaching the land?

Fire!

A burst projectile was launched from behind the Leviathan, directly hitting the scorpion that was raising its pincers and tail. The scorpion's several eyes on its head were splashed with strong acid, causing intense pain, which made it release its grip on the rock and fall back into the warm sea.

It might not be able to come back up, but now was not the time to celebrate.

Beside the fallen Brontoscorpio, there were three more. They seemed unaware of what had happened to their companion and continued to crawl towards the Leviathan, raising their tails to attack.

Small-brained creatures are a hassle... if it were sharks, the others would have fled at the sight of one dying.

Lin loaded another burst projectile into the nozzle and fired three in quick succession, hitting each scorpion with three projectiles.

All three hits were perfect. Although the Brontoscorpio had small brains, their reactions were quick. One used its pincers to block, while the other two fell like their 'predecessors.'

The one that blocked, feeling the pain, changed direction and crawled away. It seemed that only through learning could they understand the danger.

Although there was a small victory, some scorpions had already surpassed the Leviathan, and most were far away, out of Lin's reach.

If there was no other choice, she could only continue climbing, hoping that they would be distracted by other dead fish and not attack the transporters.

The Leviathan's progress was now... 50%, and Lin saw several scorpions already on the land. Not only scorpions, but some trilobites had also crawled out of the sea. These trilobites were miniature, only about ten centimeters long, and they moved very quickly, soon catching up to the Leviathan.

Is being light on land an advantage?

However, compared to the scorpions, Lin was more worried about the possibility of fireballs or another tsunami, but everything remained calm.

Just as Lin was thinking this, several circular shadows appeared in the sky.

Fireballs? No...

Those floating objects slowly approached the cliff where the Leviathan and the scorpions were. These were the air-jellyfish Lin had seen before, which could float in the air!

It was hard to say if they were jellyfish, but they looked very similar.

Each air-jellyfish had a body diameter of about one meter. Although they had no eyes, they seemed to be observing the creatures climbing the cliff. Lin had never observed these jellyfish so closely before and noticed that they had some jet-like openings around their bodies, which they used to move.

After hovering in the air for a while, the jellyfish finally targeted the small trilobites.

Since the jellyfish could float in the air, their bodies must be very light. They knew they couldn't fight the Leviathan or the Brontoscorpio, but the trilobites were small and easy targets.

The air-jellyfish used their tentacles to grab and poison the trilobites, similar to how jellyfish in the water did. Lin noticed a small trilobite not far behind the Leviathan, and a jellyfish was approaching it.

A good opportunity...

As the jellyfish approached, Lin sent a special combination into the nozzle. It was a tentacle several meters long, very thin but highly flexible, with a sharp tip covered in barbs, which Lin called a 'hook spike.'

Fire!

When the jellyfish was within range, Lin suddenly launched the hook spike, which pierced into the air-filled sac of the jellyfish and firmly hooked inside.

Caught! Now she could study how it floats in the air!

However, just as Lin was happy, the jellyfish's jet openings began to vibrate, as if it was inhaling a large amount of air. The jellyfish also began to swell, and finally...

Pop.

The jellyfish exploded.
