Chapter 5

After preparing everything, Tang Tian finally began his operation.

Descending through the narrow passage that only one person could pass through to the second floor, Tang Tian observed again and found that most of the zombies on the second floor had gathered at the door of the room where the brain-dead person was shouting.

Seeing this situation, Tang Tian silently said to himself, "I don't know if the people inside are brothers or beauties, but you have to hold on. Once I deal with these zombies, you will be saved. Amen, Buddha."

In a certain sense, Tang Tian, a typical orphan who lived a lonely and hard life, was introverted and jealous. He was secretly happy when others were in trouble but did not show it. Once provoked, he would go crazy, regardless of anything, just to vent his anger.

"Xiao Ying, go and lure the monsters," after a jumble of thoughts, Tang Tian finally gave the order to the ghost assassin behind him.

Upon receiving Tang Tian's command, the ghost assassin immediately darted out, approaching the nearest zombie from behind and slashing its arm with a dagger, instantly cutting off the entire arm.

Roar~~! The zombie, attacked, immediately went berserk and roared, chasing after the ghost assassin.

The zombie's cry alarmed the other zombies, and dozens of them soon howled and pursued the retreating ghost assassin.

"Retreat~!" When the ghost assassin came to his side, Tang Tian decisively retreated.

Everything went as expected. The large number of zombies surging in were blocked by the chairs in the hallway, and only one stumbled up the passage.

But what awaited it was not delicious human flesh, but a blow to the head.

Tang Tian, standing at the entrance of the third-floor hallway, swung the novice wooden stick in his hand and smashed it onto the zombie's head. After two strikes, the zombie's head turned into a mushy melon, and it collapsed to the ground.

A faint white light emerged from the zombie's body and finally merged into Tang Tian's body.

"10 experience points obtained. Xiao Ying, clean up the battlefield, drag it away, and if anything drops, collect it for me first," Tang Tian said happily.

Bang~! After the ghost assassin dragged the zombie's corpse away, Tang Tian released a table from his storage ring and placed it in front of the only passage at the stairway entrance.

Just then, the second zombie came up from downstairs. Tang Tian kicked the table and raised the stick in his hand, smashing it onto the zombie's head. With the table in the middle blocking the zombie's hands, it could not grab Tang Tian and could only be eliminated by him.

After a few strikes, the zombie was killed, and Tang Tian gained another 10 experience points. At the same time, Tang Tian received a notification.

"After relentless fighting, your level has increased, and all basic attributes have been enhanced. You are now level 2, and you have been specially rewarded with 5 evolution points. Please choose the direction for enhancement."

"Enhance all to strength." Currently, what Tang Tian needed most was attack power, and enhancing strength was undoubtedly the best choice.

With all 5 evolution points enhanced to strength and his level increased, Tang Tian suddenly felt much stronger, especially in strength, which had almost doubled.

After the ghost assassin dragged the zombie's corpse away, another zombie quickly followed and came upstairs. Tang Tian immediately swung his stick down.

Smash~!

This strike instantly smashed the zombie's head to pieces, and the murky brain matter splattered everywhere. Tang Tian quickly released a table from his storage ring to block himself from getting dirty.

At the same time, Tang Tian was surprised by his own strength, not expecting one strike to shatter a zombie's head. Realizing this, Tang Tian was overjoyed, knowing that the stronger he was, the better his chances of survival in this perilous world.

Not only that, but Tang Tian found that with the level increase, his other aspects had also been enhanced. His reaction speed and attack speed were almost twice as fast as before!

These ordinary zombies no longer posed a threat to him, so he no longer needed the table to block them. He let the zombies from downstairs come up and smashed their heads one by one, busy and happy.

During this time, he noticed that the experience needed for the next level was 500 points, and killing one zombie only gave him 5 points, shattering his dream of quickly leveling up.

However, even a small amount of experience was still experience. Although it was a bit less, it would eventually accumulate and lead to a level-up.

Tang Tian spent about two hours, luring zombies several times, and finally killed all the over a hundred zombies on the second floor, smoothly leveling up to level 3.

In fact, by the end, Tang Tian had become familiar with the zombies' attack methods and no longer needed to block them. He directly rushed into the crowd of zombies on the second floor to fight. However, he was almost surrounded by a dozen zombies, and it was only thanks to the timely rescue by the ghost assassin that he avoided being torn to pieces. Reluctantly, he had to stick to the strategy of blocking the zombies.

After killing the last zombie, Tang Tian took stock of his gains.

His level increased to 3, and all basic attributes increased by 1 point each. He also received 5 evolution points as a reward. Considering that his current strength was sufficient to deal with these ordinary zombies, Tang Tian enhanced 3 points to speed and 2 points to constitution.

Now, Tang Tian's attributes were: Level 3, Strength 19/10, Constitution 16/10, Spirit 12/10, Agility 13/10, with no other significant changes.

At this point, he had completely surpassed the realm of ordinary people, almost matching a battle-hardened special forces soldier, and even surpassing them in some aspects. He could cover almost three meters in one step and swing his novice wooden stick once per second, much stronger than before. A few ordinary zombies could no longer pose a threat to him.

Additionally, killing over a hundred zombies earned him 85 Divine Coins, five gray treasure boxes, and a pair of pants, with nothing else. As his level increased, these ordinary zombies were becoming less likely to drop equipment.

After storing the 85 Divine Coins, Tang Tian opened the five gray treasure boxes one by one. Four were empty, and only one contained a skill book.

"True Eye, Level 1, Passive Skill, Skill Description: It allows you to see the basic information of people or monsters whose level is not more than 5 levels higher than yours. Learning this skill does not occupy an active skill slot. Do you want to learn it?"

Tang Tian, of course, chose to learn it. With this skill, he could avoid powerful monsters in advance.

After learning the skill, Tang Tian specifically went to the window on the third floor and looked at a zombie in the schoolyard, receiving the following information:

Ordinary Zombie Beast, Level 0, Weak attack, transformed from a human who could not withstand the transformation by the Demon God. It can only instinctively attack humans, and killing it yields a small amount of experience.

Tang Tian was almost overjoyed to get this skill. With it, his safety would be further secured.

Then, Tang Tian checked the information on the pair of pants, which was similar to the novice clothes, with only a pitiful 2 points of defense. Following the principle that even a small amount of experience is still experience, Tang Tian immediately equipped it.

Additionally, Tang Tian noticed that the experience needed to level up to level 4 was 1000 points, and killing an ordinary zombie only gave him 1 point of experience, making it very difficult to level up.

After some thought, Tang Tian took out one-third of the items from his storage ring and placed them in several kitchens. The outside world was unknown, and sooner or later, people would come to the cafeteria to find food. If they found nothing, they would certainly be suspicious.

If the storage ring was exposed or even stolen, his survival ability in this unknown world would be greatly reduced.

After tidying everything up, Tang Tian returned to the second floor, ready to see who else was still alive...
