Northern Sector, Tohto. From a forest located on a small mountain in an idyllic city, sparrows started flying away in a rush.
*Bam*! *Bam*!
In the mountain out back, I was thrusting my fists repeatedly.
Getting slowly used to Kikou, I started training with it turned-on all the time and adjusted my training regiment accordingly.
When I wore ki, it’s sensitive nature damaged my surroundings greatly and I had a hard time adjusting to it, but now I could firmly control it.
Furthermore, I’d finally mastered the Outer Kikou which I was so eager to, and now I could pour ki into objects to make them more sturdy.
“At this point, I’ve strayed pretty far from humanity.”
(Though I still have to be mindful of my daily movements)
“I guess it’s another question where I’ll use it in such a peaceful world.”
I’d heard of the recent spike in bizarre incidents, but it was nothing serious yet, plus no one I knew was involved in them either.
(Japan is peaceful after all)
Thinking so, Ritsu descended the mountain and started getting ready for school.
School ended normally. As I was reaching home I saw two men in black suits standing in front of my house. One was quite skinny with slit eyes, but the other was built like a bear.
I could tell they were both experienced martial-artists with the way they carried themselves, so I approached them warily.
“Do you have any business at our home?”
“Yes. I, am Ryuichi Igarashi, a detective from the Northern Police Station. I’d like to have a little chat.”
Said the man named Igarashi as he handed me his business card. The man next to him did the same.
“O-, okay, did you want to talk with my grandfather?”
As I asked while getting confused,
“No, not your grandfather. We wanted to chat with you.”
Detective Igarashi replied clearly.
I had no clue what was happening, but I decided that talking inside would be better.
“Go ahead.”
For the time being, I lead them into the guest room, but their conversation did everything but get to the point.
According to Igarashi-san, In regards to the chain-murder-incidents that had taken place, I was spotted running in almost every footage of the different crime scenes they had.
So I was asked if I had any leads for them.
(I can’t tell them much even when they ask, considering how I was just running past those places)
Seeing me troubled, the other detective Tashiro-san brought up a different topic.
“Yozakura-san’s grandfather is surely not the grand-master of the Yozakura Style, is he?”
“Yes, I was sure that’s the reason you came here…”
“So you really were Yozakura-san’s grandson. Is the dojo out in the back?”
Igarashi-san also seemed interested as he asked me that.
“Yes, out back in front of the mountain. It may be small, but we have a dojo.”
It seemed like they both knew who the old man was. Well, it’s not that surprising considering they’re from the Northern Police Station.
After chit-chatting about pointless stuff,
“Well then, it’s about time we excused ourselves, but please contact us in case you find anything. Thank you very much for your time.”
They greeted politely, and finally went back.
“What was that.”
“I’m home.”
The old man was back.
“Welcome…”
Feeling something off with my attitude,
“Oh, did something happen?”
He questioned me.
“Some men from the Northern Police Department came. They wanted to ask about the recent incidents.”
As I talked about what happened today,
“Well, the investigation has stalled, and maybe it was just a matter of course.”
Gramps replied casually.
After that, having finished dinner, I went to my room and pondered over the incidents but as usual, I came up with nothing.
Could it have something to do with those giant kis? While thinking about such ridiculous theories, I slipped into sleep.
