When the light of dawn shone again and the pale blue glow faded, Charlie's stomach growled, signaling his hunger. He hadn't eaten anything since he was captured by the tall zombie two days ago. The excessive production of stomach acid made him involuntarily swallow hard. Charlie habitually tightened his belt to suppress the hunger pangs in his stomach.
Rumble!
Another sound echoed, and Charlie gave a bitter laugh, cursing, "Damn it, I've already tightened my belt, what more do you want?"
However, he soon realized that the sound didn't come from his stomach. A bad premonition instantly arose in Charlie's heart. Looking up, he saw the tall zombie's grayish-white eyes staring at him, the projected light having disappeared.
The tall zombie's grayish-white eyes were now clouded with a bloodthirsty gleam, and a疯狂嗜血的气息瞬间而起,压制得查理连气都喘不过来。

The tall zombie's grayish-white eyes were now clouded with a bloodthirsty gleam, and a crazed, bloodthirsty aura instantly arose, suppressing Charlie so much that he couldn't even breathe.
"Finished."
Charlie inwardly wailed, this gaze was all too familiar. Those damned zombies had this look right before they attacked a living person. Zombies with this look would tear apart and devour any living thing in front of them.
The tall zombie slowly opened its mouth, and its sharp fangs instantly became prominent, exuding a violent aura as it pounced towards Charlie.
"Just because... in the crowd... I took one more look at you."
Charlie stammered, humming a tune out of tune, clearly feeling the sharp teeth that had touched his neck slowly stop.
Charlie's spirits lifted, and he hurriedly continued humming. Although his pronunciation was strange, the tune was somewhat similar. Over and over again, Charlie didn't dare to stop.
The tall zombie's foul breath gradually moved away from his neck, and Charlie felt his body relax. Then he saw the tall zombie grab the pendant and jump directly from the 25th floor, reigniting a frenzy of slaughter.
Charlie let out a long sigh of relief, his legs weak. This time, he had truly walked through the gates of death. If it weren't for a flash of inspiration, he would have been completely devoured by the tall zombie.
Thinking about this, Charlie felt a wave of fear. He realized he couldn't just sit and wait to die; he had to find a way to escape. Although the tall zombie was different, it was still a zombie, and it could attack him at any moment in a fit of madness.
Charlie quickly got up and began searching for a way to escape. His eyes swept over the balcony, and he suddenly froze. There were deep marks on the balcony, twisted and hard, but Charlie recognized them as two Chinese characters: Lu Shui.
Charlie was lost in thought, subconsciously looking down from the balcony to find the tall zombie, but it had disappeared, gone somewhere.
Charlie let out a long sigh, feeling a mix of relief and sadness. He quietly looked at the two twisted Chinese characters on the balcony and sighed, "I think you really loved her. Even as a monster, you remembered her name."
A sense of admiration rose in Charlie's heart. He knew the tall zombie was truly different. Even in this hellish world, amidst the mountains of corpses and rivers of blood, it hadn't forgotten her name. This kind of obsession deeply moved Charlie.
He wondered if, in the same situation, he could break free from the virus's control, even if he lost his soul and reason, to remember that name.
Such thoughts kept swirling in Charlie's mind. After a long time, he let out a long sigh, bitterly smiling. He knew he couldn't do it; otherwise, there wouldn't be only one Li Mu in the world.
Li Mu, Charlie remembered this name. He didn't want to call the tall zombie "some zombie" anymore. Since it remembered that name even in this hellish world, Charlie felt he should remember its name too: Li Mu, a zombie named Li Mu. Perhaps the whole world had forgotten this name, but Charlie felt he should remember that there was a zombie named Li Mu who had carved another person's name into his bones.
Even if he forgot everything, even if he became a zombie, even if he was just a shell controlled by the virus, he would still break free and remember that name.
Charlie suddenly had a new understanding of zombies. They weren't just bloodthirsty, crazy, and cannibalistic; they also had their own obsessions.
"Damn it!"
Charlie smashed a zombie that emerged from the stairwell with a stick, cursing, "I was wrong. There are indeed two kinds of zombies in this world: one is called Li Mu, and the other is called something else!"
"Damn! Is your obsession just eating people? Eat your own ass!"
Charlie lowered his voice, angrily growling. He had no time to think about the zombie named Li Mu that had moved him; he only wanted to find a way to escape from the zombies that would attack him on sight.
In another dim room, the zombie Charlie called Li Mu was staring at the pale blue projection in the room. His grotesque face was still stained with dark blood, and his grayish-white eyes were fixated on the woman in the projection, seeing her smile, seeing her say "I do."
Then Li Mu slowly walked forward, clumsily trying to embrace the woman in the projection. But when his gray, sharp bone knife lifted and pierced through the pale blue light, appearing in his grayish-white eyes, his movements froze. He looked at his right hand, which was completely different from the woman's in the projection—gray, sharp, and flat like a bone knife, capable of easily slicing through metal, piercing walls, and slaughtering zombies. But a simple embrace was impossible.
Li Mu's grayish-white eyes instantly turned red, bloodthirsty and violent. He instantly burst out of the room, moving like lightning, and jumped from the balcony, landing with a loud thud. His eyes were bloodshot, and everything in front of him was a blur of red, ready to be destroyed, destroyed, destroyed!
Li Mu's solitary figure stood on the street, surrounded by a river of blood. Dozens of zombies had been shredded by the sharp bone knife in his hand, their dark blood staining his entire body.
"Roar!"
A fierce, bloodthirsty roar suddenly echoed. On the opposite side of the street, a zombie even taller than Li Mu slowly emerged. This zombie was over two meters and fifty centimeters tall, with an extremely thick right arm that reached down to its knees, smooth and hammer-like, with no fingers.
It was covered in dark blood and fragments of internal organs and bones, clearly having used this hammer-like right arm to crush many zombies.
The hammer zombie moved slowly, as if heavily weighted, but each step sank into the concrete, showing the immense force behind each step.
Li Mu's grayish-white eyes still had a bloodthirsty gleam, and he felt the pressure from the hammer zombie. He leaped forward, as if flying, and attacked the hammer zombie.
Clang!
The hammer zombie moved slowly but with incredible strength. It deflected Li Mu's attack with its right arm, sending Li Mu flying and crashing into a car, crushing it.
After sending Li Mu flying, the hammer zombie's movements quickened, running like a raging bull or a trampling horse. Its hammer-like right arm swung down at Li Mu.
Boom!
The hammer missed Li Mu but smashed the car into the concrete, creating a large crater.
Li Mu's grayish-white eyes were cold, and he instantly sprang from the ground, leaping into the air and bounding off the walls like a wall-walker. He landed behind the hammer zombie, which didn't have time to turn around before Li Mu's bone knife pierced its back brain.
"Roar!"
The hammer zombie, despite being pierced through the back brain, didn't die. Its hammer-like right arm swung back, hitting Li Mu's right arm before he could pull out the bone knife. Li Mu was sent flying hundreds of meters, landing on the ground with a bloodied chest.
Li Mu's grayish-white eyes were cold, and he stood up as if nothing had happened, pouncing on the hammer zombie again. The hammer zombie, with its back brain pierced, was already at the end of its strength.
When Li Mu pounced again, the hammer zombie finally fell. Li Mu's grayish-white eyes flashed with a bloodthirsty gleam as he pounced on the hammer zombie, tearing and devouring it.
As Li Mu devoured the flesh, his muscles began to twitch violently. The virus inside him became active, stimulating his stomach to digest the flesh and extract all necessary nutrients, which were then absorbed into Li Mu's body. The wound on his chest healed visibly.
Li Mu's muscles seemed to be strengthened. His right arm became thicker, and his gray, sharp bone knife became even sharper, gleaming coldly.
It was hard to describe the enhancement the virus gave to the zombies. The hammer zombie, over two meters and fifty centimeters tall and weighing at least three hundred kilograms, was completely devoured by Li Mu in just fifteen minutes.
With blood on his lips, the bloodthirsty look in Li Mu's grayish-white eyes gradually faded. He stood there for a moment, then suddenly ran to a dim room, touched the pendant, and the pale blue projection appeared before him. A gentle melody played, and Li Mu became unusually calm, staring at the woman in the projection.
