An announcement was made. It was time to board the plane.
Yun Xian took off his headphones and put his windbreaker on his arm. When he got up, he looked up at the sky outside the glass window.
It’s rare for the weather to be so good. The sky was blue and cloudless.
Yun Xian had lived in Beijing for 30 years. He studied and worked there.
It might be because he was leaving that the scenery he had seen thousands of times seemed to be particularly beautiful today.
He said goodbye in the bottom of his heart. ꜱᴜᴘᴘᴏʀᴛ ᴛʜᴇ ᴛʀᴀɴꜱʟᴀᴛᴏʀ ᴀɴᴅ ʀᴇᴀᴅ ᴏɴ ꜰᴏxᴀʜᴏʟɪᴄ.ᴄᴏᴍ
There was no sentimental attachment and no reluctance. He was calm and relaxed.
During the three hour flight, the white clouds were within reach outside the window. He was thousands of meters above the sky. Communication was cut off, and his troubles from reality were put aside temporarily.
Yun Xian slept on the plane for a while. He couldn’t sleep all night last night. He had a satisfying sleep in the short few minutes.
When the plane landed, Yun Xian saw Li Zhicheng as soon as he came out of the exit.
Li Zhicheng gave him a warm hug, patted him on the back and said, “You don’t know how much I miss you!”
Li Zhicheng was so strong that Yun Xian reluctantly allowed him to hug him.
It was autumn during September in Beijing. He was wearing a long windbreaker. When he got off the plane, he found that the heat in Jiangnan was still strong and stuffy.
Li Zhicheng took Yun Xian’s suitcase and said to him, “Let’s go. My mom has been busy all morning and is waiting for you.”
Li Zhicheng was Yun Xian’s college roommate. After graduation, he returned to his hometown in Xi City to work. Now he had his own studio to create games. The studio was very popular with young people.
Last year, Yun Xian came to Xi City during National Day. Li Zhicheng’s parents ran a mountain bed and breakfast. Jiangnan was close to the mountains and rivers. Many surrounding villages had been developed into national parks. The beautiful scenery and delicious food attracted city residents to come for leisure and vacation.
Life in Xi City was easy-going. The scenes were good, and the urban development was also at the forefront of the country. It is a good place to travel and live.
In the car, Li Zhicheng and Yun Xian chatted. “Have you figured out what to do next?”
Yun Xian rolled up his sleeves and replied, “No, I’m taking a look around.”
“It’s good to just rest. There’s nothing special about our small place. It’s just suitable for living a simple life. Besides, there are many beautiful women here. Maybe you will write your own love story in Xi Cheng.” Li Zhicheng did not forget to tease him while he drove. It was not a weekend today, so there were not that many cars on the road. The road was smooth.
Yun Xian laughed and scolded, “You should take care of your own life first.”
Li Zhicheng said, “I’m busy with my career, and I’m not intentionally looking for a relationship.”
Yun Xian knew who he was thinking about, and without exposing him, he asked, “Are you going to work today?”
Li Zhicheng: “Yeah, I’m a top worker, am I not?”
Yun Xian chuckled. “I am really moved.”
Li Zhicheng asked him, “Will you go to my studio this afternoon?”
“Okay.” When he came to Xi City last year, Yun Xian helped Li Zhicheng to look at a few office spaces, but he had not seen the decorated studio with his own eyes.
“If I say so myself, you can stay and work for me.” What Li Zhicheng said was half true.
Yun Xianquan thought that he was joking. “Don’t even mention it. I am not interested in girls’ games and know nothing about them. I really don’t want to touch coding again in my life.”
Li Zhicheng chuckled in a low voice. “Didn’t you just get promoted? How did your boss overwork you?”
“He didn’t, he’s busier than me. He went to three places on business in a week. Now he drinks less coffee. He always has heart pills and liver pills in his bag.”
Li Zhicheng asked, “What about his hair? Does he still have some?”
Once Yun Xian heard this, he gave a tsk, “Are you being sarcastic?”
Li Zhicheng smiled, and so did Yun Xian.
Afterwards Yun Xian stopped smiling and sighed. He leaned back into his chair and said, “I just see him like that and wonder if that is my future. It might be better for me to be a deserter when I face reality.”
Li Zhicheng nodded to acknowledge it. He reached over with a free hand to pat Yun Xian on the shoulder.
His eyes were still on the road ahead. He fumbled with his right hand and accidentally poked Yun Xian’s face.
Yun Xian hit his hand away and said, “Concentrate on driving your car. Don’t touch me.”
There was a restaurant and a guesthouse in the Li family’s villa. There was a nature garden behind it where there were fruits planted.
Compared with the high-end hotels in the city, the villa was more like an inn with antique decoration and a distinctive style.
Father Li and Mother Li prepared a whole table of dishes after they knew that their son’s close friend was coming.
The dishes were all home-made using local farmer’s ingredients. The dishes were simple but delicious.
Father Li also took out his homemade wine. The green plum was sour and sweet. The wine is rich and clear, with a sweet aftertaste.
Li Zhicheng didn’t drink it with an excuse that his stomach was uncomfortable, but Yun Xian was polite towards their hospitality. He ate a lot and drank several glasses of wine.
After eating and drinking, he felt the warm wind in the afternoon and stretched. He felt a little sleepy.
“Why don’t you sleep in my room?” Li Zhicheng asked him.
“No,” Yun Xian refused. He didn’t sleep during the day, since he was afraid that it would make it harder to sleep at night. “Uncle and aunt are still busy. I won’t disturb them. Let’s go and visit your company.”
