Allen had never been warier in his life.
His head hung low as he stared at his legs. Next to his ears was a constant rambling of a man with a gentle voice.
“Has anyone seen my nail polish, oh god, if it doesn’t come out now my poor nails will be naked.”
“Oh god. Didn’t I tell you guys that all clothes must be ironed properly, this is for quality of life. Quality, do you understand? Crude fellows.”
A man rambled on as he placed his finger onto Allen’s chin, raising the boy’s head. A face adorned with winged eyeliner, eyeshadow, fake lashes and lipstick appeared in the boy’s eyes. And as he stared at this face, Allen wanted to gouge his own eyes out.
“Hey babe, what’s with the unhappy face? Toto is telling you we’re almost at Babylon. Come on, be a bit happier.” Fluttering his eyelids, his bright lips moved closer, threatening to kiss onto Allen’s face.
Gritting his teeth, Allen squeezed out, “Toto.” from his throat. His hands were already reaching for Massacre as a voice screamed in his heart: Let me kill him!
Of course, he couldn’t.
Not only was this damned person the government employee that was bringing him to Babylon, his strength that rivaled Lieutenant Ron was not something Allen could beat. The boy simply imagined the scenario in his mind as the damned face came even closer, breaking the boy’s resolve to stay still.
The lieutenant who’s full name was Tonisev had certain “hobbies”, and one of which was cross-dressing. Adorned with golden rococo style locks, an intricate fur coat, skin-tight pants and purple rhinestone heels, he was quite the sight.
And as Allen saw him, he assumed that all the people on Babylon was strange, and not just a little bit.
Of course, there was only Tonisev that was this strange. Oh, and he preferred calling himself “Toto.”
Allen was currently on a medium-sized transport ship that was normally used for carrying humans or cargo. The one he was in was made for human transport, and its size was significantly bigger than the patrol ship he had used for the test, capable of holding about fifty people at once. In the room he was in was redesigned into a private bar, with a curved bar situated at the door’s entrance filled to the brim with wine glasses, whiskey and brandy.
The floor was made of tempered glass panels, allowing light to shine in from below and creating a shady atmosphere as an obscure brilliance reflected in the room.
Crystal lights hung from the top of the room, and despite the moving ship, it was completely still. Turning to the wall in front of the door, Allen could see a painting of Tonisev. It was a vibrant painting of the man, who looked enchanting as he smiled in the painting. It was so enchanting that it made a person want to rip the painting into shreds.
“Alright, babe. Let’s confirm the process….” As Tonisev held his hand out, someone immediately rushed forwards to place a squarish object into his hands.
Tapping on the item, it revealed a picture. This was the a.i. the lieutenant had told him about yesterday. It was created to help take care of the daily lives of humans, something Allen had never seen before. Ever since he met Tonisev, he was introduced to all kinds of interesting things.
The lieutenant’s finger glided through the screen as he spoke, “We’ll enter through the goddess port, other government ships enter through there as well. There, you can join the other participants in an extravagant welcome party where thousands of Babylon residents will welcome you during your journey from the port to the training base!”
“Yes, there’s about an hour left before we’d arrive. What, an hour?” With a shriek, the lieutenant tossed the a.i. and jumped up, “Quick, quick get some clothes for our babe here!”
Allen’s brows furrowed as he looked at the jacket Ron had given him, “I have clothes.”
“That’s clothes? God, those are just a bunch of cheap leather clumsily sewn together, it’s not even tailored! Letting you wear this to Babylon will lose all my face. People would wag their tongues, saying that the beautiful Toto from District 13 brought a feral child back! No, that’s absolutely not okay!” Fire spewed from his eyes as his aura burned, “You must have a perfect entrance with noble, beautiful clothes! That’s the quality I want, not this rugged army jacket!”
“Quality!” Emphasizing his point once more, the lieutenant walked out of the cabin as his screams could be heard from the hallways, “Ethan! You bastard, get some clothes for my babe right now! I’ll give you 10 seconds!”
And in just a few moments, a delicate-looking teen ran into the cabins with a greyish-silver suitcase in his hands. Snatching the suitcase over, Tonisev opened it on the chair. A black suit appeared from the box as a clothes hanger rose, completed with accessories. There was a dress shirt with matching shoes, a tie and even a leather belt, they were fully prepared.
Watching Allen, Tonisev ordered, “Wear it!”
“Here?”
“That’s right!”
As Allen undressed, leaving only his underwear on, Tonisev’s eyes shone brighter, “Look at those well-defined muscles, oh, and this golden ratio. Baby, you’re so gorgeous……”
The lieutenant even grabbed his ass as Allen’s eyes widened. He was this close to stabbing this pervert. Ultimately, he had no choice other than to wear the suit. And after he did, he stood in front of the mirror, unable to recognize himself.
The white-collar shirt contrasted against the black suit, creating a clean and beautiful appearance. And the combination of a tucked waistline, narrow sleeves and brooch necktie had turned Allen from a feral child into a noble child. Along with his refined features, bright red eyes and prideful ashy silver hair, Tonisev liked him even more.
“My little beauty, come here. You’re so enchanting, I can bet those guys would go crazy for you. You’re……” his finger twirled in the air before he pointed, “A star! That’s right, you’ll become the star in their hearts!”
“Lieutenant, his hair……” the assistant pointed out softly.
Tonisev slapped his forehead, “Damn it, I almost forgot such an important thing!”
Taking a pair of silver scissors from his assistant, he started to work on Allen’s hair. After six months of living in the barracks, Allen had no time to take care of himself and his hair had already grown by quite a bit. And as locks of his silver hair dropped from the scissors, the lieutenant continued, “Listen here, babe. All of you will be under the guidance of a teacher for a month. The Death Ring will start in a month. I’ve helped you to check your teacher, it’s Hughton, an old man that was once a major general and also a master of weapons. My advice to you is to do whatever that old man has you do, and as meticulously as you possibly can.”
This guy finally said something useful, Allen thought.
“Alright.”
As Tonisev placed the scissors down, Allen could see that his unruly hair had disappeared in the mirror. The lieutenant had given him a simple masculine haircut. Even Allen couldn’t deny that he looked much better now.
And as they finished up, a broadcast rang throughout the ship. They were arriving in 10 minutes.
Everyone returned to their seats and fastened their seatbelts, Allen included. And as he waited, he opened the covers of the rectangular window in front of him and stared at the outside world.
The previous sight of the blue skies and clouds was replaced by the sight of an oblique land. On the ground, he could see countless buildings covering the horizon. This was a steel city that was floating a thousand meters above the ground!
This was the Babylon Floating Island, mankind’s greatest creation since the Battle of Dawn.
The demonic ship was tilted as it flew across Babylon, allowing those on the ship to enjoy the sights of the buildings below them. They could see multiple tall structures and complicated roads below them, as well as a plaza in a big green area. And all these were only a small section of Babylon. The entire size of this island was as big as Texas, and the close to 700,000 km² area even had forests, canyons, rivers and mountains!
As the ship aligned with the ground and started to descend, Allen could see a minaret pointing towards the sky, and even from a distance away, Allen could feel a forbidding and majestic aura from the structure.
“That’s the demonic cube minaret, the heart of Babylon. Using the most forefront methods of utilizing energy, they have converted Universe Origin into the blood of Babylon. Without it, there is no Babylon and there wouldn’t be any present nor future for the human race!” Speaking with a strict tone, a special light appeared in Tonisev’s eyes as he stared at the horizon.
