"Water! Water!"

Alsace didn't know why he was so obedient, but he handed over the bottle of mineral water he had just taken out of the fridge. The two people who had suddenly appeared in the room said thank you and gulped down the two bottles of mineral water in one go.

"Phew, phew..." The two people threw the empty water bottles to the side and lay on the ground, panting heavily, unable to speak for a moment.

Alsace watched them warily, as they both had weapons. In a situation where it was unclear whether they were friend or foe, it was best to be cautious.

However, he had a gun, and it seemed the two of them wouldn't recover anytime soon. So, Alsace stepped over them and walked to the window to look outside.

Most of the zombies were still chasing the horde down the street, but a small group was heading towards the hotel.

Directly below the rope, there were at least a dozen zombies waiting, apparently drawn by the two people. With the additional wave of zombies coming, the situation below was getting worse.

The zombies didn't seem to be able to climb up, but to be safe, Alsace pulled the rope back up.

Seeing that the two people had mostly recovered, Alsace squatted down beside them. Although he still held the SA80, he asked very friendly, "Hello, I'm Alsace. Who are you?"

"My name is Siyao."

"My name is Alex."

After introducing themselves, the three of them shook hands amicably.

In fact, when Siyao and Alex climbed through the window, they were also startled to see Alsace holding an SA80. But the two of them were almost exhausted from climbing to the third floor, and if Alsace had been a bad guy, they wouldn't have had the strength to fight back.

Besides, with a gun in his hand, how could they fight back? Since he wasn't a zombie, they didn't care whether he was good or bad. So, the two of them lay on the ground and rested.

Now, they felt lucky. Not only had they escaped the zombies, but the soldier in front of them didn't seem like a bad guy.

"Alsace, thank you for saving us! If it weren't for you, we would have been done for," Siyao said, holding Alsace's hand in gratitude.

Alex also said excitedly, "We had already given up hope, but when we saw you throw down the rope, we were instantly filled with strength! You're a good person, thank you so much!"

Alsace replied a bit embarrassedly, "Actually, I threw the rope to..."

"I thought someone like me wouldn't be able to climb up, but your rope was so useful!" Siyao pointed to the rope by the window, interrupting Alsace's explanation.

"Right, military-grade rope, definitely useful," Alsace said, deciding not to explain further. After all, with the current situation, there was no point in wasting time on such things.

After Alsace spoke, Siyao and Alex looked at him again. He was dressed in military uniform and held a cool-looking automatic rifle.

Alsace wasn't very tall, about 1.7 meters, just a bit taller than Siyao and Alex. He had brown hair, somewhat similar to Alex's. His face was dark and angular, with sharp eyebrows and bright eyes, clearly a soldier.

"Are you a soldier?"

"Yes, I'm a soldier in the British Royal Guard. It's a unit directly under the Queen," Alsace repeated his identity.

"Queen? Albe..." Siyao, hearing Alsace's words, thought of Albe in Wonderland and couldn't help but worry about her.

A horde of that size would be impossible for even ten gates of Wonderland to hold back. He hoped they were safe and that there would be a chance to meet again!

"What's wrong?" Alsace noticed Siyao's unusual behavior and asked him.

"Nothing. Look, I forgot to introduce us." Siyao scratched his head awkwardly and began to introduce them in detail.

"You mean you got separated from your companions? So now you're trying to get to the top of this hotel?" Alsace shook his head. The door and the ground floor were blocked by zombies, making it impossible to go to the top floor, let alone escape.

Siyao nodded and continued, "That's right. The higher we are, the better we can see. If our companions are looking for us, we can see where they are."

"We thought it would be safe once the horde left, so we risked coming to the hotel. We didn't expect to be chased by more zombies halfway," Alex added.

"My foot was sprained yesterday. Although it's better today, it's still hard to run. If it weren't for Alex, I would have been done for," Siyao said, looking at Alex with gratitude. Alex smiled at him, indicating there was no need to be so formal.

"Was your companion driving a Land Rover?" Alsace remembered the Land Rover he had seen from the helicopter and asked Siyao and Alex.

"Land Rover? No, they were driving an orange Jinxing taxi," Siyao answered without hesitation.

"No! Don't you remember the Land Rover we left at the entrance of Wonderland, trapped by zombies? It might be Li and the others!" Alex, recalling the Land Rover they used to go to the nightclub, quickly interjected.

"It seems those people could indeed be your companions," Alsace said thoughtfully.

Alsace was secretly pleased: It seemed his luck was good, and the mission had a good start. He had already rescued two civilians in less than an hour!

However, his joy was short-lived, as the room's door was already being broken down by the zombies! Several dry, bloody hands reached through the hole into the room! Although the door hadn't completely fallen, it was only a matter of time.

Siyao and Alex hadn't realized there were zombies outside the door when they entered the room. Now, they were truly frightened. They didn't have time to rest and quickly picked up their weapons to prepare for battle.

"Don't fight them head-on, there are too many zombies outside!" Alsace quickly shouted, stopping Siyao and Alex, who were heading towards the door.

Although Alsace had enough bullets to deal with the zombies outside, he had already learned his lesson. While guns could save lives, they also had significant drawbacks!

Moreover, if he ran out of bullets, how would he save the remaining civilians?

"What do we do? There are zombies outside, and there's no other way! We have to fight!" Siyao raised his machete, shouting anxiously.

"Follow me!"

Alsace said, then quickly jumped onto the window, grabbed the rope, and leaped out, disappearing from view!
