Chapter 90

Deadpool put on the two Adamantium knives and set off. After being enhanced by the evolution serum, there were few places where he couldn't go, and with his stealthy nature, he was almost invincible. The Skynet nanobots would assist him in completing the mission Chen Ang had assigned.

"Sir!" Jason bowed humbly, and Chen Ang nodded. Only then did Jason cautiously enter. After being disciplined, the Master of Illusions was very clear about his position. Even his mental illness had improved significantly under Chen Ang's torment. Now, alongside Deadpool, he had become Chen Ang's right-hand man, distinctly different from the other three test subjects.

Of course, the term "right-hand man" was only how Jason saw himself. With Skynet, Chen Ang didn't feel he lacked capable operatives. He had only taken on these two to avoid exposing Skynet too early.

"You will work together on this mission," Chen Ang said casually while busy with his experiment.

"I will fully support Deadpool's mission," Jason replied cautiously.

"No need. If he can't even bring back the Adamantium, he shouldn't come back!" Chen Ang said coldly, looking up at Jason. "When Deadpool returns, you will go with him to pay a visit to the White House. Be careful not to scare the President. The goal? Just shave off his hair!"

"We understand, sir!" Jason quickly agreed.

Jason soon left, and Chen Ang continued at the lab bench, but he had already stopped his experiment. "Skynet! Seal this area! Level 3 alert!" Chen Ang ordered calmly.

"Understood!" The red light in the air flickered twice, and countless nanobots gathered, sealing off the lab where Chen Ang was. The liquid-like robots formed a massive, secure room. An old man in a wheelchair appeared opposite Chen Ang, nodding at him.

Chen Ang knew that the Professor was still dozens of miles away; this was just his mental projection.

"Stop the war! This has gone far enough. The war has not only failed to ease the conflict between mutants and humans but has exacerbated social tensions. There must be other ways," the Professor sighed.

"What ways? Continue being superheroes and fighting crime? But people will only remember the pain mutants have brought them, the way you have coveted dominance over human society. They won't remember your efforts for peace," Chen Ang said bluntly, looking at the Professor.

The Professor was silent, feeling the growing undercurrents and the increasingly intense conflicts. The racial war was imminent, and the tensions had reached a breaking point. Even he felt a sense of fatigue and was prepared for sacrifice.

"Mutants were once the pride of evolution, but now you are just the rejects of society!" Chen Ang said mercilessly. "Professor, everything that distinguishes humans from animals—society, economy, culture, industry, technology, and creativity—mutants have nothing to offer in these areas."

"Most mutants live at the bottom of society, thinking with their muscles and fists. Your social structure is more like some dynamic social organizations, valuing strength and having a clear hierarchy. Perhaps mutants were once a treasure, and their powers were a gift, but now mutants are a cancer and a residue in society!"

Seeing the Professor's face turn increasingly pale, Chen Ang sighed. "Forgive my bluntness."

"You are right!" the Professor sighed. "We have not adapted to this society. That is our biggest problem. Powers are a treasure, but we have used our strength without contributing to society. We seek power without making contributions, and that is what ordinary people resent the most."

"You, with your powers, should be better, but you are not. In human society, you act like animals, showing off your strength, which only brings disdain and contempt. Humans define their hierarchy by status and wealth," Chen Ang gestured. "Powers should be your third hand, giving you unparalleled abilities."

"Learn, create, explore, and use them to develop your intelligence and contribute to human progress, not to indulge in strength. You may look evolved, but your society is regressing." Chen Ang gently tapped the air, and beautiful notes came from his fingers.

"The greater the power, the greater the responsibility. Cherish your gifts and develop your intelligence. Mutants should be superior beings, not a bunch of destructive lunatics." Chen Ang looked at the Professor solemnly.

"Use your powers to create, not to destroy. Use your strength to help others, not to dominate them. This is the promise I have kept all my life, and my commitment. The X-Men use their powers to help others, choosing to integrate into human society and make our contributions." The Professor took a deep breath.

"So we are not on the same path. You seek peace, while I seek progress." Chen Ang said seriously. "Powers are a treasure, a superior gift. Mutants should not simply integrate into society but should lead the way, using their potential to advance and progress, driving human society and science forward."

"I look forward to the day when you use your powers to explore the unknown and nature, using your intelligence to develop your abilities, making them your third hand, third eye, and second brain, liberating your creative abilities. That is the world I look forward to and strive for."

"I know what they fear," the Professor said worriedly. "Powers should not be a person's shackle. Innate abilities vary in strength, and this difference makes ordinary people fear us, worrying that we will establish a social system above them, using our powers to define hierarchy and status."

"If these issues are not resolved, blindly pushing society forward will only bring destruction! We have no second chance," the Professor said excitedly.

"Are you talking about the message Wolverine brought back?" Chen Ang smiled, sitting in front of the Professor, crossing his arms, and looking at him playfully.

"You know?" the Professor was surprised.

Chen Ang leaned close to his ear and whispered, "Trust him!"

The Professor turned back in shock, stood up, and his projection abandoned the wheelchair, looking at Chen Ang seriously. After a long moment, he sat down again. "I always thought that phrase meant I should trust Logan. Now I understand that it should refer to you. I have had a nagging doubt, and now I understand."

"Logan was brought back by you, not by Shadowcat. You are the one who brought him back here!"

"Oh? I'd like to hear more!" Chen Ang spread his hands, gesturing for him to continue.

"Shadowcat's story doesn't add up. Ignoring the time barrier, Logan's mind traveled, and it's impossible for him to bring back a liquid metal arm. Unless..."

"Unless someone gave him one, and that person can only be me!" Chen Ang admitted frankly. "Yes, it was me who caused Logan's time travel."

"Gravity is a power closely related to time and space. I discovered this possibility in the time vector, the possibility of the world's destruction. Interestingly, even in that scenario, you did not give up hope. The apocalypse is not my goal, so I gave you a hand."

"You implanted Logan's future possibilities into his mind!" the Professor said seriously. "Skynet is real, and the future is real, but it is just one possibility."

"And the most likely one. So I want to change it. I think the idea of reversing the future is excellent." Chen Ang smiled. "The liquid robots are an interesting change. I'll share this with you; in the future, they solve the status issue between mutants and humans."

"Can they give humans powers?" the Professor quickly realized.

"Metallic power cells, something under development. Very dangerous, but according to my calculations, they can simulate the X-gene when fused with human stem cells," Chen Ang said calmly.

"So you want the Sentinel program to proceed, using the X-gene databases of various countries to crack the secrets of the X-gene and develop this technology?" the Professor looked at Chen Ang, his eyes serious.

"No, that's just a side effect. I have a strong interest in scientific research and genetic codes. Even without this, I would do it. It's all for progress," Chen Ang said calmly.

"You want the U.S. to feel immense pressure, so when conventional weapons fail, they will turn to the X-gene direction. No matter which path they choose, you will reap the benefits. Is that your goal? Was Skynet developed for this reason?" the Professor asked.

"No, Skynet is a more advanced plan. If the Sentinels are too dangerous, Skynet will protect humanity. If they are not powerful enough, Skynet will be humanity's enemy. In any case, you need a strong external pressure to promote the unity of mutants and humans and drive your progress."

"Of course, it can also conveniently clean up the old, rotten factors that hinder social progress, promoting a renewal of human society," Chen Ang said seriously.

"Why are you doing this?" the Professor couldn't help but ask. "We can wait, not make choices for them. We don't know if what we are doing is right or wrong. We have no right to make choices for the whole world!"

"Human effort has its limits. I have been pushing forward alone, and it's becoming too much. So, I'm pulling the whole world in. Either they walk with me to the end, or we all perish together. My time and energy alone are not enough to drive scientific progress, so I'm turning the world into my laboratory, making all of humanity move forward with me," Chen Ang said with a smile.

"That's insane!" the Professor sighed helplessly.

"No, not at all. Skynet has already been deployed, and the Terminators are in place. Not just Logan, I have created other 'reincarnated' individuals from the future, and they will accelerate this process. Just a little more pressure on the U.S. government, and they will initiate the X-Program, collecting mutant genes."

"You've already started, haven't you?" the Professor said seriously.

"Yes, Deadpool is a talent. I mean, his mouth can drive people crazy. The President will have a headache, and this massive, outdated bureaucratic machine will start running like it's been whipped. My first target is the mutant gene database, which hasn't started yet."

"You want to infiltrate the White House?" the Professor said angrily. "You will exacerbate the social tensions."

"No, with the threat of world destruction, humans won't have the time to fight among themselves. When the meteor lands, their only choice will be to unite against me, the enemy of the world."

"And what's the White House? Just a slap on the face of this bureaucratic machine. With their thick skin, they might forget it in a moment. I want to grab their lifeline, making them panic, fear, and lose sleep." Chen Ang pointed to the map. "How about the Federal Reserve?"

"You want to destroy the financial industry," the Professor said slowly.

"These bloodsucking parasites that hinder social progress should have died long ago, shouldn't they?" Chen Ang laughed. "Hanging bankers from street lamps has been my wish for a long time! Of course, this time, I'm here to destroy their money."

"I will stop you!" the Professor said firmly.

"Welcome!" Chen Ang nodded. "This time, I will act personally."

The Professor's projection slowly dissipated. Chen Ang knew they had reached a certain understanding. The Professor wouldn't agree with his ideas, but he would cooperate at the right time.

"Humanity's journey should be to the stars and the sea. I'm waiting for your progress!" Chen Ang said to the air, knowing the Professor could hear him. (To be continued.)
