Chapter 45

Recently, I always feel like I can't wake up. I go to bed early at night and wake up late in the morning. Sigh... This Wednesday is the Three Rivers recommendation, everyone who is free should go and help cast a Three Rivers vote. The Three Rivers vote can be obtained on the Three Rivers page, and it's free.
"Damn it! Damn it..." Carey Mulligan shook her head vigorously, her short blonde hair flying around, looking extremely frustrated. "Why is this happening! Why is this happening!"
James Franco looked at her, finding even her angry face beautiful and adorable.
Murphy quietly leaned against the wall at the corner, one arm crossed over his chest, the other supporting his chin, enjoying the show Carey Mulligan was putting on.
Carey Mulligan said in a fit of rage, "Why did my state suddenly disappear? Why can't I keep up with your performance?"
She also hit her small head a couple of times, looking very distressed, "I'm so stupid! I'm such a big fool."
"Stop! Stop!" James Franco quickly stopped her, "Don't do that, don't do that."
Seeming to have vented enough, Carey Mulligan stopped, her eyes misty, staring straight at James Franco as if he were a savior.
This pleading look made James Franco somewhat intoxicated, and he couldn't help but recall what the rookie director had said: sincerity is the best way to move Carey Mulligan. It seemed to be working quite well, should he go thank him?
Thinking this, James Franco didn't stop speaking, "Carey, this isn't your problem."
Hearing the comforting words, Carey Mulligan looked at him with wide eyes and asked, "How can it not be my problem? Clearly, I can't find the feeling."
"The sudden change in a character like Hailey is difficult for any actor," James Franco leaned forward, slightly closer to her, "Your character was previously innocent and charming, but after seducing Jeff, she instantly transforms into a girl full of cunning and ruthless means. Any actor needs time to adapt and find this feeling."
"Alright!" Carey Mulligan wiped her misty eyes, "Let's continue the rehearsal."
Seeing Carey Mulligan's performance getting worse, Murphy became even more interested.
Finally, in the living room, Carey Mulligan became frantic again, pacing around the sofa.
James Franco frowned, looking at her, "Don't rush, Carey, I'll help you."
"Help me? How?" Carey Mulligan turned to ask. James Franco didn't have a good solution at the moment, and she started pacing again. After two rounds, she suddenly slapped her forehead, "I have an idea!"
"Huh?" James Franco looked at her in surprise.
Carey Mulligan sat back on her sofa, "The scene and the characters were wrong just now, I couldn't get into my role. If we change to the scene where Hailey and Jeff were, I think I can find the feeling faster."
James Franco nodded lightly, "That makes sense."
"Jim, will you help me, will you?" Carey Mulligan blinked her bright eyes, and James Franco didn't even think before saying, "Of course!"
"But... but..." Carey Mulligan seemed embarrassed to say it, biting her fingers and stammering for a while, "It's... it's a bit difficult, you might not..."
"No, Carey!" James Franco, who had finally created the current situation, naturally wanted to use this opportunity to further close the gap between them, and said firmly, "No matter what, I will help you."
These words seemed to dispel all of Carey Mulligan's doubts, "I want you to become Jeff, and then we'll rehearse."
James Franco immediately said, "I am Jeff now."
"Not like that..." Carey Mulligan made a gesture of tying a rope, "Like the scene in the script."
Hearing this, Murphy almost laughed but forced himself to hold it back. After being reminded by him, Carey Mulligan had already realized James Franco's intentions and noticed that he wasn't very bold, far from the Jeff in the script. She was deliberately using her advantages to manipulate him.
"This..." James Franco hesitated, "This... isn't too good..."
Carey Mulligan wrinkled her nose, her eyes shimmering with tears, looking as if she was about to cry, and said in a soft voice, "Please! Jim, please... You said you would help me..."
That cute and beautiful doll-like face was right in front of him. James Franco, looking at the dejected expression, felt as if his heart was being squeezed. This innocent and adorable girl was like the light of his life, the fire of his soul...
Carey Mulligan, very confident in her appearance, pleaded again, "Please..."
How many people could resist such a plea? Besides, it wasn't a big deal, just helping her rehearse and find her state. James Franco couldn't refuse, and deep down, he didn't allow himself to refuse.
"Then... okay." He nodded, "Carey, we are good friends, I am willing to help you."
"Thank you." Carey Mulligan forced a smile, "I won't forget your help."
Hearing this, James Franco felt that everything he had done was worth it. As long as it could bring them closer, were these things really a problem?
"You wait a moment." Carey Mulligan stood up, "I'll go find some rope."
After saying this, she hurriedly ran to the temporary prop storage. When she turned around, out of James Franco's sight, she revealed a victorious smile.
Murphy saw everything and suddenly found it all increasingly interesting.
He had no intention of stopping her, thinking that Carey Mulligan was just playing a prank and wouldn't really do anything to James Franco, a grown man.
Men, driven by certain desires, can sometimes lack rationality.
If he were in James Franco's position, Murphy believed he could see through Carey Mulligan's tricks, as he didn't have the special preferences of Franco. If something he extremely wanted was placed in front of him, could he ultimately refuse?
He probably wouldn't do much better.
Carey Mulligan hurriedly ran away and came back even faster. At her request, James Franco sat on a large chair, closed his eyes, and let Carey Mulligan tie him up like a big dumpling, quite cooperatively.
The white rope wrapped around James Franco's gray clothes, standing out quite noticeably. Perhaps from the exertion of the previous effort, Carey Mulligan took off her beige jacket, revealing a black T-shirt underneath, whether intentionally or unintentionally.
Carey Mulligan stood opposite the chair, looking at James Franco up and down with a strange expression.
For some reason, James Franco suddenly felt something was off. He looked down at the ropes binding him and asked, "We're rehearsing, shouldn't we start?"
