After dinner, Lin Miaomiao began to clean up the dining room and kitchen.
Song Yan and Lu Xiao both came over to help while Qin Moshen rinsed his bowl, put it in the dishwasher and went upstairs.
Lu Xiao looked at his back and asked, “Why does Brother Shen still wear a suit at home?”
Song Yan said as he cleaned, “He had a video conference today and he will continue later.”
“He really can’t stay away from work even when he’s isolated.”
Song Yan pushed his glasses and said to Lin Miaomiao, “Miaomiao, you should go to rest, you must be tired after cooking so many dishes.”
“No, I’m not tired.” Lin Miaomiao bit her lip and looked at the two big men in the kitchen feeling a little uncomfortable, “I’ll go to the storage room.”
She took the elevator to the underground storage room on the ground floor. There was a patio with a half-glass ceiling at the top and several thin bamboos were planted in it which was full of greenery.
There was a long grid in the storage room for various baking materials. She glanced at it and saw a small notepad in the corner.
The moment she opened it, a piece of paper fell and the dessert list was listed in black pen. The handwriting was beautiful and elegant and there was a hint of familiarity.
She pondered for a while but didn’t figure out why the handwriting felt familiar so she turned her eyes back to the paper and the top one was vanilla pudding.
Lin Miaomiao glanced over and saw several dried vanilla in a glass bottle which were fermented and fragrant but still the most natural vanilla flavor.
She had taught herself how to bake before and knew that vanilla was not cheap so she used it carefully. Seeing so many roots at once made her felt like she had found a treasure.
Lin Miaomiao opened the wooden lid of the bottle, took out a strip of brown vanilla and gently peeled it off.
The slender peel was cracked and the soft white fingertips were stained with black vanilla seeds. She put it on the tip of her nose and sniffed and the fragrant fragrance lingered.
She couldn’t help but lift her lips slightly, maybe she could make another vanilla pudding tomorrow morning otherwise a salad for brunch might not be enough.
She opened the refrigerator in the pantry and there were all kinds of cheese and butter and there was a complete range of baking materials.
She held the piece of paper in her hand and thought about it and took it back to the room with the vanilla.
There was nothing special about the notepad, just an inventory of baking materials which was completely different from the handwriting on the paper.
She lied on the bed and held up the piece of paper and pointed it towards the overhead lamp.
The handwriting was beautiful and familiar but she still hadn’t thought of it.
She reached out and counted and there were fifty desserts listed on it which was more like a menu. Could it be that there was someone who loved desserts in this villa?
There was a person who loved western food so the balcony of the restaurant was full of various herbs.
There was a person who loved desserts so the pantry was very full of baking materials.
She suddenly felt that her next job was not easy but she thought about the salary offered by Song Yan, it was three times that she got as a deliveryman.
Thinking of this, she was motivated again.
There was a gap in the floor-to-ceiling windows of the balcony and she heard the familiar piano music again.
Lin Miaomiao listened quietly for a while and couldn’t help getting up.
She walked to the living room but the sound of the piano was almost inaudible so she walked slowly up the stairs.
The second floor had a spacious living room with a long wall of bookshelves and a soft high back single sofa.
She walked along the occasional faint sound of the piano and there was a round glass room at the end of the corridor.
It was dark outside the balcony and the glass house was bathed in silver moonlight.
She approached slowly, the curtains were not fully closed so she stood behind the glass and through the gap saw a man facing her sideways, playing the piano.
A white grand piano, he was looking at the score intently with his fingers twitching rapidly on the black and white keys.
His profile was clear and elegant with a cleanliness that transcended the mundane world.
The shiny black hair seemed to be swayed by the wind, a little more supple than before.
His eyelashes were long and dense, casting thick black shadows on the porcelain-white skin and the light in his eyes that fluttered slightly was cold and indifferent.
Lin Miaomiao’s heart seemed to be struck with lightning and it was clenched tightly, a pain that paralyzed her whole body.
Xu Zeyan.
Turned out he lived here.
The fourth person in the villa was actually Xu Zeyan, whom she had always had a crush on.
