Chapter 9

"......It's amazing. The world has changed."

Feiris, who had not left the dystopia for a hundred years, let out her first words in a tone of awe, as if they were falling from her lips.

"Richt, do you know where we're heading?"

"Of course. In fact, not knowing would be the problem."

Richt and Feiris are heading to the hero's graveyard to revive the legendary necromancer. The place where the necromancer currently rests is preserved as if it were revered, and its defenses are supposed to be thin.

If they were to bring Illis and Tise, it would leave two gaps, making it impossible. Even if they were to bring Rose, it would result in an equivalent amount of damage, making it impossible as well. By process of elimination, Feiris became the partner for this mission.

"If this plan succeeds, we'll get a lot of time off. I always thought Lord Demon King would forgive us."

"Yeah, really forgive us."

In fact, when they consulted the Demon King Aria, she gave permission surprisingly easily. Since they would definitely be bringing one servant, it felt like a letdown compared to the negotiations they had anticipated.

"By the way, even if we revive that necromancer, will the Demon King accept them into the dystopia?"

"That's fine too. For some reason, she trusts us."

Richt was grateful to Aria for being so smooth about it. How many Demon Kings would trust a newcomer like him to this extent?

Feeling the weight of that trust, he was even more motivated to try his best. If this was all part of Aria's strategy, it was a charismatic move worthy of a Demon King.

"That's good to hear."

"---Let's go. We'll probably have to fight the tomb guardians, so be prepared."

"Wait. Richt, wasn't your ability to revive the dead---can you revive them multiple times...?"

"Yeah, no problem."

Feiris reconfirmed Richt's skill. It was something she wanted to make sure of before the battle, as it could change their strategy. And she was certain.

Richt's ability and Feiris's ability meshed together like gears.

It was the same as what she had heard from the Demon King Aria.

Richt's skill, which could revive the dead multiple times, was the perfect match for Feiris's skill, which activates when she dies, called "Resentment."
