Qian Youliang and the others followed the mercenaries in a panic. They had originally thought that in the main god space, they would no longer feel the numbness and emptiness of their previous lives, and would no longer have to live a monotonous life of going to and from school, playing on the computer, eating, excreting, and sleeping. He wanted enough excitement. After arriving in the main god space, the various powerful abilities of the main god space made them feel it was beautiful.

At first, Qian Youliang indeed thought so, but when the sound of the explosion came, it was as if a hammer had shattered his fantasy. There was no paradise here; this was clearly hell. He was just a small bug in the palm of the main god. The main god could kill them as easily as crushing a bug.

The mercenaries and the main characters did not hear the sound of the explosion, but when they were almost at the end of the stairs, one of the mercenaries suddenly shouted, "Sir, the Flame Empress has locked onto us; she knows we are here."

The female lead, Alice, asked in surprise, "Who is the Flame Empress?"

Matthew Addison glanced at her and said, "The best artificial intelligence system in the country. She controls the entire hive and is the central main computer here."

As the team continued to advance, research rooms that had been isolated began to appear on both sides of the corridor. These rooms were all filled with water, and in addition to the water, there were many researchers' bodies floating in them, looking very frightening. Qian Youliang and the others all knew that they had been infected by the T-virus and had become monsters with only instinct, 'zombies.' Once the central computer restarted and the water was drained, these monsters would break free and begin their most primitive human instinct, 'eating.'

"Oh no."

One of the mercenaries said, "To reach the Flame Empress, we must pass through these laboratories. Now that they are all flooded, I don't think we can get in."

Matthew Addison nodded and said, "Raine, JD, you two go see if there's any way to drain the water."

The female mercenary with long hair, named Raine, a name that sounded masculine, and another mercenary, JD, both gripped their guns and walked deeper into the corridor.

Matthew Addison looked at the flooded research rooms and said, "Kaplan, go find another way to the Flame Empress."

Kaplan, hearing Matthew's words, took his gun and followed Raine and the others.

When the four of them had walked far enough, one of the main characters, Ryan, suddenly asked, "What exactly happened here? Why do these research rooms look like they were...?"

"Filled with water from the inside?"

Matthew Addison looked at everyone and said, "About five hours ago, the Flame Empress sealed the entire hive and then used the internal defense system to start killing people, releasing poison gas, cutting off elevators, and closing research rooms. She killed everyone in this experimental area."

He paused and continued, "When the company realized something was wrong, our team was sent here to shut her down. That's why we're here."

The main characters were all surprised. Alice bit her finger and asked, "Why did she do that? Isn't she an intelligent computer system?"

Matthew Addison shook his head and said, "We don't know. It could be due to external influence, like a computer virus or a hacker attack... or it could be that someone inside tampered with her. This is all..."

While Matthew Addison was speaking, a figure gradually appeared on the glass wall that Matt was leaning against. Matt looked closely and saw that it was a floating corpse. He screamed and jumped back in fright.

Everyone was startled, even those who had seen the movie jumped. They all looked at the pale female corpse floating inside the glass wall.

Although Matthew Addison and the others looked a bit uncomfortable, they quickly calmed down. They smiled at Qian Youliang and the others, thinking they were scared by the female corpse.

Qian Youliang mustered his courage and walked up to the female corpse. Even though there was glass between them, it did not reduce his fear, because he knew that "she" would continue to "live" in another form.

"Knock! Knock!"

Qian Youliang gently tapped the glass with his hand, and suddenly the female corpse's eyes opened wide, scaring him so much that he fell to the ground.

"This corpse is moving," he said, pointing at the female corpse. Although he knew that sound could attract zombies, he was still startled by the sudden opening of the corpse's eyes, which made him feel uneasy.

Everyone was also startled by the female corpse's eyes opening and watched it cautiously.

"Haha, it's just the electrical stimulation of the muscles in the eye after death that caused her eyes to open. Don't be so surprised," Ryan laughed, seeing Qian Youliang sitting on the ground and the others becoming abnormally tense.

Hearing Ryan's explanation, the mercenaries and Alice all breathed a sigh of relief, while Zhao Jianwei and the white-collar girl were even more frightened, because they knew that it wasn't just electrical stimulation that caused the corpse's eyes to open.

Seeing that the main characters were no longer paying attention to the female corpse after Ryan's explanation, Qian Youliang's eyes flashed with disappointment. He had wanted to warn everyone about the corpse, but it seemed he couldn't indirectly inform the main characters about the problem with the corpses like in some fan fiction. It seemed that getting reward points and side mission rewards in fan fiction was very difficult.

"Hey, why don't we introduce ourselves? After all, we have to rely on each other in the main god space," the white-collar girl smiled and said.

The three men seemed to have no objections, and the white-collar girl continued, "My name is Liu Yan, the 'Liu' in willow tree and the 'Yan' in dust. I am a white-collar worker. I really didn't expect the option that popped up on the computer to be real; I thought it was a hacker's prank."

Qian Youliang smiled friendly and said, "Qian Youliang, the 'Qian' in deep, the 'You' in leisure, and the 'Liang' in cool. I am a student at a third-rate university. At first, I also thought it was a hacker's prank, but it's better this way. I have no fun in the real world, so if I die here, so be it. At least I can live passionately before I die."

The middle-aged man smiled honestly and said, "I am Zhang Sheng, the 'Zhang' in open and the 'Sheng' in victory. I am a long-distance bus driver. I was playing games in an internet cafe when that option about the gods popped up. I thought it was something else, and then I ended up here."

"Zhao Jianwei, a high school student. I will definitely become the strongest person. I want to go back and show those who looked down on me. I am definitely the main character!" The depressed youth became more and more agitated as he spoke, and his face turned grim, showing that he had a very difficult life in reality.

Hearing the depressed youth's words, the others subtly moved away, trying to increase the distance between themselves and Zhao Jianwei, because they knew that people who had been crushed by the pressures of reality would do anything to survive in this god space where there were no laws.

"Sir, we found another way, but it will take more time to get there. We will return here, then go through the B restaurant and directly reach our destination. This route will take about twice as long," one of the mercenaries said as they were introducing themselves.

At this moment, the other two scouts had also returned. The long-haired female mercenary named Raine said, "Sir, we can't get through that way; this floor is completely flooded."

Matthew Addison nodded and said, "Alright, let's take the second route. We don't have much time left, so let's hurry."

With no choice, everyone followed the mercenaries. Fortunately, the mercenaries did not run this time. After walking for a while, they finally stopped at an iron door. One of the mercenaries used a computer to open the door, and the front few people cautiously walked in with their guns.

This was a vast hall filled with countless small containers, each about a few cubic meters. A cold and eerie atmosphere emanated from the containers. Anyone who had seen the first Resident Evil movie knew that this was the storage area for the frozen crawlers. Once the main computer shut down, these crawlers would become the most terrifying alien creatures, with a terrifying power far greater than that of zombies.

Seeing the containers, Matthew Addison turned around and said, "Kaplan."

The mercenary looked at the computer in his hand and said, "This is the B restaurant... that's what the map says."

Matthew Addison walked over to him and looked at the computer. Matt said, "Maybe there are some secrets hidden here, secrets that the company doesn't want the outside world to know..."

Matthew Addison glanced at him but said nothing, only telling the mercenaries beside him, "JD, Raine, you two stay here and guard the prisoners, then guard the exit."

At this moment, another female mercenary suddenly said, "Sir, the poison gas index here is zero. It's possible that no poison gas was released here, maybe the defense system malfunctioned."
