Chapter 60: Fan Li's Invitation

“Wow!”

Standing at the edge of a cave, Yu Yuan looked down and gasped in amazement.

The deep pit was still partly covered by the shadows of the walls around it, but the densely accumulated spiritual energy here was reflected by sunlight and showing a translucent milky-white mist.

Yu Yuan could sense a reckless and mighty feel from this mass of spiritual energy, something that he hadn’t felt before.

Obviously, this moon fragment was different from the previous one they had explored.

That must have been why someone from the Fan Clan warned them not to get involved in competing for this area.

“Why do we have to follow your orders?”

On the opposite side of the wall, another group of people appeared beside a cave.

“They are from Black Moon City.” Yuan Ting saw their faces and said, “Cultivators from that city are quite powerful.”

“Look at them. They still stopped after Fan Clan’s threat.” Zhao Yafu said disdainfully.

Looking down, Yu Yuan saw yet another group of people was slowly and reluctantly moving the stone steps from the crater.

“People from the Fan Clan are all bastards. We are the ones who found this first.” A handsome young man complained. “That piece of moon fragment gathered countless amounts of spiritual energy and even has a sword method carved on it!”

“Of course this is one of the best pieces. Or else, the Fan Clan won’t waste so much time to chase everyone out of here.” The girl at the front frowned and said, “Forget it, we might be lucky enough to find a similar one. We can’t afford another battle against them.”

“Nothing we can do with our pitiful team.”

“Let’s just get out of here.”

After climbing upwards for a while, the group noticed that there were two more groups of people who just appeared.

“They are from Cold Moon City.” Zhao Yafu said to Yu Yuan, “Our Dark Moon City is right next to them, and we even have many trade deals with each other.”

After explaining to Yu Yuan, Zhao Yafu waved toward the girl in the lead.

“Sister Han!”

Han Hui also saw her, so she instructed the people behind her to take a different route to get to Yu Yuan and Zhao Yafu.

At the middle stage of the Yellow Hall Realm, she was just a step higher than Zhao Yafu’s cultivation level.

However, she had no good impression of Yu Yuan.

She frowned slightly after seeing Yu Yuan standing next to Zhao Yafu, and said, “The Fan Clan already claimed this crater for themselves. Unless one of the other five clans comes soon, I’d recommend you to go search elsewhere.”

She was giving them a bit of logical advice.

Even the team from the Cold Moon City decided to give up, there was no reason for the Dark Moon City to insist.

“Han Hui, what’s going on down there?” A tall young man from the Black Moon City yelled from the other side. “Have your team found something worth a while?”

“Gao Hong, no matter what’s going on, it’s none of your business!” Han Hui snorted. “Fan Li is down there.”

As soon as he heard Fan Li’s name, Gao Hong looked a bit hesitant.

“Don’t even think about it. You won’t have a chance against him.” Han Hui told him. “It’s not like this is the first time you met Fan Li.”

As if triggering some unpleasant memory, Gao Hong’s face became increasingly ugly.

Yu Yuan didn’t know many stories about the people here. He asked curiously, “Brother Yuan, what made Gao Hong so afraid of Fan Li?”

“The Fan Clan is the real head of the Black Moon City.” Yuan Ting smiled bitterly and said, “Only because the top five clans can form their own team, the Black Moon City’s team don’t have anyone from the Fan Clan.”

“However, as far as I know about the Black Moon City, Gao Hong has always been dominated by Fan Li.”

“Even the participants in the Black Moon City have to follow Fan Li’s orders. They might turn on Gao Hong in a battle against Fan Li.”

“Just think about that, Gao Hong will never be able to beat Fan Li in a million years.”

Yuan Ting explained in a low voice.

Yu Yuan nodded. “I see, so we can’t depend on these people from the Black Moon City to help us if we go for the Fan Clan.”

“Well, you can think of it that way.” Yuan Ting said.

“Depend on them? What for?” Han Hui frowned. “Sister Zhao, congratulations on getting to the Yellow Hall Realm. We have been friends since way back when. I’ll never harm you, but please listen to my words— do not go there.”

She was one of the few people who had seen the other side of Fan Li.

She knew that no matter how nice Fan Li might seem from his face, his greed and evil would not change.

She had dealt with Fan Li in the past and knew how horrible of a person Fan Li was. She didn’t want to be involved in a mess so early into the event.

It was never fun to be a target of that viper.

“Boring… looks like we have to go somewhere else.“ Zhao Yafu sighed. She was trying to tell Yu Yuan to not provoke Fan Li just yet and move away before attracting too much attention.

Of course, Yu Yuan wasn’t stupid. He understood that this wasn’t an appropriate time to go into a fight with the Fan Clan.

With Zhao Yafu’s current strength, he was confident that she could deal with anyone from the Hidden Moon City that they fought with earlier.

But the Fan Clan was different.

“We can always come back later.” Yu Yuan nodded.

Just as he was about to step away, Fan Li’s voice came from the milky white mist below. “Did I just hear my good Brother Yu’s voice?”

Fan Li’s voice was full of enthusiasm, sounding like an old friend of Yu Yuan,

Han Hui shuddered when hearing Fan Li, her face changed.

Zhao Yafu paused there for a moment and said hurriedly and quietly, “Ignore him, let’s go quick!”

Yu Yuan raised his eyebrows.

“Hey, Fan Li! You got some sharp ears right there!” Gao Hong laughed strangely. “He is the one that Lin Zhuyun said is just as good as you. He is right here on the other side of the crater!”

“Gao Hong! Shut your big mouth!” Zhao Yafu glared at him.

Gao Hong’s face was gloomy. “Zhao Yafu, what made you think you can scold me?”

“Ah, is it really Brother Yu?” Fan Li sounded cheerful. “Come down and I can share this wonderful piece of moon fragment with you. Oh, I forgot to tell you that your fiancé has always been good friends with me. Nothing to fear, just come.”

He offered to share the moon fragment.

“It’s hard to refuse such kindness.” Yu Yuan sighed.

“Don’t! Don’t go!” Zhao Yafu held him down. She shook her head and said, “Brother Yu, you know what realm you are in. I believe that if you and Fan Li are in the same realm, you can defeat him with no problem, but right now you are not there yet.”

She admired Yu Yuan from the bottom of her heart.

But Yu Yuan was only at the Meridian Establishment Realm!

“You wait for me.” Yu Yuan broke off from her grasp, and said to Yuan Ting and Yu Feifei, “Just stay right here and wait for me.”

“Wait for you? Do you think you’ll be able to come back?” Han Hui smiled scornfully. “You have a death wish or what?”

“I have to go with you!” Zhao Yafu insisted.

“No, you stay up here,” Yu Yuan said solemnly. “I need you to take care of my sister.”

He glanced at Gao Hong on the opposite side and whispered, “I worry that when I’m gone, these people might want to take advantage. If that’s what’s going to happen, teach them a lesson for me as well.”

“Sister Han, goodbye.”

After giving a little nod toward Han Hui, Yu Yuan went down toward the bottom of the crater, alone.

Han Hui sneered and looked at the back of Yu Yuan as if looking at someone who’s already dead.
