However, I won’t punish you today. That’s the job of the punisher, not mine.” Perhaps because Matt had been too intimidating earlier, the red-haired youth remained in a daze even as Matt released his arm.

He asked somewhat dazedly, “Then, what do you want me to do?”

Matt stood up from the ground, his white eyes hidden behind his sunglasses coldly facing the red-haired youth: “As you said, let’s decide the winner with a game of pool, best two out of three. If you win, I and Ymir will let you go.”

Such a good deal, the red-haired youth was the first to disbelieve it. He asked, “What if I lose?”

The red-haired youth’s eyes scanned the pool bar. Since he had been chosen by Ferren to take over Jeff’s pool bar, it meant that his pool skills were also top-notch.

With his discerning eye, unless the blind man who was incredibly strong played himself, no one here would be his match.

As the only person who could steadily outplay him in pool, old Jeff’s hands had long been broken by his men, making it impossible for him to play now.

“Then leave your right hand as compensation for the owner of this place.” Matt didn’t even raise an eyelid, pointing in the direction where Ymir stood and said, “As for who will play against you, it’s him.”

“What!” Ymir was so surprised that he almost spilled the orange juice he was holding all over himself. He looked at Matt and pointed at himself, saying, “Mr. Matt, you mean, you want me to play a game of pool with this red-haired guy?”

A light flashed in the red-haired youth’s eyes. He clutched his still aching arm and struggled to stand up, saying, “My name is...”

“Shut up!” “I have no interest in your name!”

Before he could finish his sentence, Ymir and Matt both shouted at him.

Matt nodded, walked to Ymir’s side, and whispered in his ear, “Do your best to instill fear in him.”

Ymir still didn’t quite understand Matt’s meaning. He was a bit stunned, and Matt continued, “Perhaps you haven’t noticed, but I can feel it. The negative energy generated by everyone’s fear is slowly attaching to you. Although I don’t fully understand its purpose, I believe you will need it.”

Could such a thing be possible?

Ymir himself hadn’t noticed, but considering Matt’s heightened senses as a Night Devil, beyond just vision, he felt relieved.

He closed his eyes slightly and carefully sensed. Indeed, as Matt said, the small pool bar was filled with resentment generated by fear. However, most of this resentment was concentrated on the red-haired youth and his men, with only a small part being absorbed by himself.

Moreover, Ymir noticed that as the fear of the red-haired youth diminished among the patrons, the resentment attached to him also gradually decreased.

Only the fear generated by the few strong men he had personally defeated was truly absorbed by Ymir.

These fear energies, after being transformed by Ymir’s body, turned into threads of yin energy and slowly merged into his body.

However, the resentment generated by these ordinary people, who were not under the threat of death, was so minimal that the yin energy converted from it was almost negligible.

No wonder Ymir hadn’t noticed it unless he paid close attention.

Compared to the yin energy generated by Ymir’s simultaneous deaths in two worlds, these new forces were insignificant, like a drop in the ocean.

But Matt was right; this fear could indeed give Ymir strength.

Although the amount generated each time was not much, for Ymir, the surprise it brought was no less than discovering he had superpowers in another world!

No one understood the implications better than Ymir himself. It meant that his power had room for growth.

It was not static but could become stronger!

As long as he could instill fear in more people, his power would not hit a bottleneck.

As for the limits of Ymir’s power, who could know? Perhaps only the sky, the universe, or infinity could be the ultimate extent of what Ymir could achieve!

“Alright, I’ll take the bet!” With no other way out, the red-haired youth had to accept the bet after witnessing the formidable combat skills of Matt and Ymir.

Although the conditions Matt offered seemed to mirror exactly what he had offered to the pool bar owner, just with the positions reversed, he had no choice now!

“I’ll break!” Ymir had a vague plan in mind. He accepted Matt’s words and took the cue stick leaning against the wall, standing in front of the table. Unfortunately, despite having superpowers, Ymir’s pool skills hadn’t improved.

The red-haired youth, seeing Ymir’s grip on the cue stick, knew he was a complete novice and felt even more confident. The outcome of this game was crucial for his survival, and under extreme tension, his pool skills actually improved.

The first game ended quickly, with the red-haired youth performing exceptionally well.

Matt sat by the pool table. Although he couldn’t see, he could sense the game’s progress through the subtle vibrations of the table. He shook his head, surprised that Ymir, a resident of Manhattan, had never played pool before.

He stood up, walked to Ymir’s side, and whispered in his ear.

The vibrations of all the balls on the table were clearly transmitted to Matt’s mind. The steps and routes for hitting the balls, as determined by this master-level expert, were naturally flawless.

Even without using yin energy, Ymir’s body was more agile than an ordinary person’s. At the very least, he had absolute control over his limbs, which was already superior to most people.

With the Night Devil’s guidance, as long as he didn’t make mistakes, he could successfully pot the balls. Matt could tell Ymir the exact point, angle, and force needed for each shot.

Under Matt’s almost godlike on-the-spot coaching, Ymir quickly grasped the essentials of pool.

Even without cheating with yin energy, his perfect control over his strength allowed him to easily make critical shots. With a bit of beginner’s luck, he managed to narrowly win a few points against the red-haired youth, tying the score at one-all. The final game would decide the winner.
