Chapter 15

Mastering the right method, with his current body, it indeed felt a bit like bullying the weak when Ymir competed with ordinary people. Matt guided him for a round, and he already knew that Ymir had learned the rules of the game.

Taking advantage of Ymir and Redhead's focus on the game, he quietly walked towards the door.

Matt understood that from now on, it would be Ymir's stage.

He had already given Ymir all the guidance and direction he could. As someone with superpowers, Ymir was destined to face troubles that ordinary people could neither encounter nor even imagine.

Matt had also experienced these troubles, so he understood Ymir's hesitation and inner conflict. However, after his mediation and the timely distraction by Ferren and his men, Ymir should now be able to come out of his dark side.

To be honest, Matt did not want to be Ymir's enemy. He did not know whether Ymir was a natural genetic mutant or a later mutation, but the superpowers he possessed were truly terrifying.

Unlike anyone Matt had ever met, even just the tip of the iceberg of Ymir's abilities was enough to make Matt wary. In the battle just now, Matt's attention was mostly focused on Ymir.

The pool hall was dimly lit to create an atmosphere, but this was no obstacle for Matt, the Night's Watch. During the few moments when Ymir turned into a ghostly form while fighting the thugs, even Matt's sharp spiritual senses could not detect his presence. It was as if there was nothing there, no physical entity at all.

Matt thought that apart from his eyes, no other senses could observe Ymir. This was actually a mistake. If Ymir wished, he could completely hide his form at any time.

This was true invisibility, something no one could imagine. A vengeful ghost with various supernatural abilities was incredibly powerful, like Freddy from "A Nightmare on Elm Street" or Kayako from "The Grudge," both of whom were unsolvable.

Unfathomable and unbreakable!

This was a power different from all the heroes Matt knew, whether it was Iron Man, Doctor Strange, or his friend Spider-Man, none of them had such abilities.

Matt only hoped that Ymir would not be influenced by the negative怨力 (yuanli, vengeful energy) in his heart and become a super-criminal. The best scenario would be for Ymir to never discover these abilities in his lifetime.

However, Matt did not imagine how long a ghost's lifetime could be. Or, to put it another way, would Ymir, as a vengeful ghost, ever have a natural end? What a joke, could a being that was already dead die again?

In the Marvel universe, the dead would go to heaven or hell based on their moral conduct in life. There would be no second ghosts, including angels in heaven and demons in hell, because such a rule did not exist in this multiverse.

Ymir, as a unique vengeful ghost, had not thought as far as Matt. His entire focus was on a small game of chess.

Without Matt's guidance, Ymir's ball skills dropped significantly.

After mastering some basic pool techniques, although he was not as easily dominated by Redhead as in the first round, it was still quite difficult to beat Redhead without using his supernatural powers.

No one had stipulated that he could not use his powers in front of ordinary people, but after seeing Matt's lifestyle, Ymir unconsciously began to emulate him.

Just like Uncle Ben said in the movies Ymir watched in his past life: "With great power comes great responsibility."

Ymir did not think he had the ability to take on the responsibility of maintaining world peace, nor was he mentally prepared for it. He just wanted to live freely, unless someone disturbed his peace...

Facing Ymir, whose ball skills had improved significantly compared to the first round, Redhead's forehead began to sweat. He felt he was not playing against a beginner but a seasoned expert who had played hundreds of rounds.

The stakes of this match were high. If Ymir lost, he would not have to pay anything. But if Redhead lost, he believed that the blind man would definitely keep his word and break his right hand to compensate the pool hall owner, Jeff.

Thinking of Matt's superb skills, which should not be possessed by a blind man, Redhead's back was drenched in cold sweat. He cursed his bad luck for meeting such a curse.

Redhead subconsciously glanced at the corner where Matt had been standing and realized that the terrifying blind man had disappeared at some point.

He looked around the pool hall in disbelief, and indeed, the blind man was gone. Now, he was only facing this young man in a Columbia University uniform.

The game was at a stalemate, with Ymir and Redhead's scores even, and only the black ball remained on the table.

They were playing authentic English snooker, with 22 balls in total: 15 red balls and 6 colored balls, with the black ball worth the most points at 7. Whoever pocketed the black ball would win the game.

Fortunately, it was Ymir's turn to play next, and he was quite nervous. This was the first time in two worlds that Ymir had competed without using his superpowers.

He wanted to win, and Redhead dared not lose. Redhead's attention was also on the table, his jaw tightly clenched.

However, now that Matt was gone, Redhead no longer took the young man seriously. He had already asked his subordinates, and they were not defeated by Ymir's skills but by their own exhaustion.

With Matt gone and only Ymir left, Redhead was confident that with his help, they could easily take down Ymir.

Moreover, this young man seemed to have a close relationship with the blind man who could fight well.

If he could capture Ymir, he would not worry about taking revenge on Matt. In Redhead's mind, he had all sorts of bad ideas. As long as he found the enemy's weakness, he would not fear the enemy's strength, because it would be useless.
