55.

Just like anything else in life, Kwon Jihwan has never been interested in shopping. As a matter of fact, he always thought shopping was a waste of time, which was why he had a personal shopper who took care of most of his purchases.

But today, Jihwan wanted to pick out Eunseo’s gift himself. He knew a personal shopper would have much better taste than him since she was a professional, but Jihwan felt like Eunseo would appreciate the time and effort he put into her gift.

Even when he bought her a bag, Eunseo asked if he chose it himself. At the time, Jihwan couldn’t understand why she asked such a question, but now that he thought about it…

Perhaps it was one of the positive signs that suggested she might be interested in him too. And now, Eunseo gave him a Christmas gift too, so Jihwan dared to hope he might have a chance.

He touched his new bracelet and thought hard about what he should get her.

The first store Jihwan entered was a luxury brand shop famous for women’s purses. He noticed that Eunseo only carried the bag he gave her, which probably meant she only had one bag.

So didn’t this mean she should one that looked a little more luxurious than the one he gave her?

The clerk explained different bags to him. She talked about different leather materials and designs, but Jihwan couldn’t understand the differences. In the end, he bought several bags of different colors and sizes.

He was waiting for his bags to be wrapped when he heard a couple nearby argue with another clerk.

“But you told us there is a six month wait at least for those bags! Why is that man taking all of them right now?!”

They were pointing at Jihwan, who just shrugged and left the store with several shopping bags. Eunseo gave him a Hermes bracelet, so he needed to replay her accordingly.

The next store was the jewelry store. He thought rings or necklaces would look too forward, so he looked at the watches. When Jihwan saw a watch with a similar design as his but smaller and more feminine, he bought it on the spot. It was over 10000 dollars, but he didn’t even blink.

After all, Eunseo brought him an expensive bracelet.

Jihwan then walked into the coat store. He has been worried that Eunseo only wore a very thin coat even though it was freezing outside. He suspected that perhaps she got sick because of this.

The first one he chose was a beautiful cashmere material. Then, he saw a nice fur coat next to it. Jihwan imagined how adorable Kang Eunseo would look in it, so he bought this one too. When the clerk explained that there were several different colors, Jihwan realized that he didn’t know what Eunseo’s favorite color was.

In the end, he bought all of them. The clerk gasped, but Jihwan didn’t know why.

After all, Eunseo bought him a Hermes bracelet.

Jihwan has never had this much fun shopping before. Whenever the other customers and the clerks stared in shock and awe, he felt proud of himself as well.

Did Eunseo feel this way when she was picking out his gift?

Jihwan slumped a little, thinking that it was very likely Eunseo wasn’t in love with him like he was with her. Eunseo probably got him a gift as a thank you for helping her with her medical problem.

But Jihwan decided to think positively.

By the time he left the department store, the back seat and the trunk of his car were full. Jihwan wanted to buy Eunseo some shoes as well, but he couldn’t because he didn’t know her size. Jihwan was very disappointed, and he promised himself that he would bring Eunseo here next time to get her some.

After all, Eunseo got him a Hermes bracelet.

The traffic was horrendous. This made sense since it was Saturday and also Christmas eve. Jihwan couldn’t help swearing in frustration as he got stuck on the road.

Two hours later, he finally arrived at Kang Eunseo’s home. The sun was already setting by then. It took him a long time to park in the residential area, but realizing that he didn’t get anything for Eunseo’s family, he quickly dropped by a grocery store to buy fruit and meat baskets.

Eunseo’s family home looked very old. He could see cracks on the walls, and the whole building looked a little tilted, indicating it was poorly built. As someone who worked for a construction company, Jihwan couldn’t help but inspect the building closely.

Then, he remembered why he was here in the first place. Shaking his head, Jihwan quickly entered.

He reached the second floor and rang the door.

“Who is it?” It was the same young woman’s voice as the one he heard on the phone earlier.

“Excuse me, but is this Miss Kang Eunseo’s home?”
