Wang Tiancheng looked at the words on the paper and was stunned. It turned out he was to be assigned to a township position, which he could not accept. When his father was around, he had arranged for him to be a county party committee secretary, a position he had not taken. Now, he was to be a secretary in a township, which was like being thrown to the very bottom.

Looking at the words, Wang Tiancheng recalled Long Hai's insincere smile and the ring that originally belonged to his mother. He felt a sense of being toyed with.

"Is there a problem? It's good for young people to get some training," County Party Secretary Xiao Po said, looking at Wang Tiancheng's dazed expression, a smile that he couldn't hide on his face. Xiao Po was happy; he had finally given Long Hai a satisfactory response. This could also be considered a way to deal with Wang Tiancheng.

Moreover, from Long Hai, Xiao Po had learned that Wang Tiancheng's father had made a mistake. Once he reached the position of county party secretary, he didn't want to be associated with such people. It would be best to get rid of Wang Tiancheng and hope he would stay in Liu Village Township for the rest of his life.

Wang Tiancheng, being young, calmed down after the intense struggle. Since he was here, he decided to go and see what it was like. If it was really unbearable, he would leave. On one hand, it was to reassure his mother, and on the other, to show everyone.

"Secretary Xiao, when should I report, and how?" Wang Tiancheng asked, smiling at Xiao Po. This was the benefit of being an official; even if you knew you were being toyed with, you still had to keep a smile.

Xiao Po shook his head, looking at Wang Tiancheng, and said, "Go today. The county party committee's cars are all busy today. You'll have to make the effort and go by yourself." Xiao Po was frustrated; if it were his subordinate, he would have slammed the table long ago. For a regular cadre to report, he wouldn't even think of sending them.

However, Xiao Po was still wary of Wang Tiancheng. Someone who could talk to the provincial party secretary was not simple. Besides, his father was once the vice mayor of Nanmen. The political world was unpredictable; one never knew when a relative or friend might come and cause trouble. After struggling to reach the position of county party secretary, Xiao Po didn't want to end up like this.

Wang Tiancheng was slightly taken aback but quickly understood Xiao Po's meaning. He said a simple farewell and left the county party secretary's office. He felt somewhat embarrassed, coming all the way to this small county just to be a small secretary in a township. This was something he truly could not accept.

At this moment, Wang Tiancheng's phone rang. He saw it was his mother and quickly answered.

"Mom, is there something?" Wang Tiancheng said simply.

"Nothing, how did the reporting go?" Liu Fang asked, somewhat worried. This was Wang Tiancheng's first time traveling far from home, and Liu Fang was naturally concerned.

Wang Tiancheng didn't want his mother to know his current situation, so he lied, "I've reported. I'm a secretary in the county party committee office. I have to go to work now. We'll talk more tonight." After saying this, he hung up. Although he had lied, he had made up his mind. There would be a day when his position would surpass his father's.

Walking out of the county government gate, Wang Tiancheng couldn't help but slow down. He looked at the security guards at the gate. The head guard naturally recognized Wang Tiancheng and smiled at him. Even if Wang Tiancheng were a petitioner, the guard didn't want to cause trouble, given his frail body.

Wang Tiancheng almost laughed. The only achievement he had in recent years was his martial arts skills. He ignored the guard's actions and walked straight to the main road.

The road in Fenglin County was wide, a purely new city with high-rise buildings under construction and cars speeding by. Wang Tiancheng felt hungry, having not eaten breakfast. He passed by a bun shop and went in. In the past, Wang Tiancheng would never have entered such a bun shop, but now, a fallen phoenix was worse than a chicken.

"Boss, a plate of buns, a bowl of porridge," Wang Tiancheng called out, sitting at a window seat.

The buns were quickly served. Wang Tiancheng ate while looking out the window. Suddenly, a luxury car drove by and screeched to a stop. A few young men ran over, shouting, "Someone got hit, someone got hit."

This scene was too familiar to Wang Tiancheng. A familiar term, "insurance fraud," came to mind. He found it interesting. He quickly finished his buns, paid, and picked up his schoolbag to go over. Wang Tiancheng loved watching the spectacle; he couldn't miss this.

A young and beautiful woman got out of the luxury car. Wang Tiancheng felt a bright light; she was incredibly beautiful, wearing a white dress and a very expensive diamond necklace that accentuated her beautiful face, making her even more alluring.

Clearly, the beautiful woman was surprised and even a bit scared by the situation. She looked down at the person in front of the car and said, "Are you okay? Let's go to the hospital."

"It hurts so much, I can't take it, it's a matter of life and death," a middle-aged man on the ground cried out in pain.

"Miss, pay up. This is my brother. He's been hit so badly, his leg is broken," a young man said fiercely. The other men around him echoed the same demand, all about compensation.

Wang Tiancheng knew the man on the ground was fine and that these people were amateurs. Such schemes usually happened at night, as it was easy to run into the police during the day. Wang Tiancheng felt it necessary to expose their plot but then had an idea.

"The police are coming, the police are coming, run!" Wang Tiancheng shouted loudly.

The middle-aged man on the ground was slightly taken aback but quickly understood. Ignoring his supposed injuries, he quickly crawled out and shouted, "Run!" The men disappeared into the crowd.

Wang Tiancheng watched the fleeing men and shook his head. Playing such a trick in front of him was too amateur. Since the matter was resolved, there was no need to stay. He turned to leave.

"Thank you, sir. Here is my business card. I will repay you," the beautiful woman said, taking a card from her bag and handing it to Wang Tiancheng.

Looking at the beautiful woman, Wang Tiancheng had some impure thoughts. Repay, how would she repay? By offering herself? Forget it, he still had to report. He took the card and casually put it in his pocket, giving a quick glance at the woman's ample chest before walking away.

If it were before, Wang Tiancheng would have tried to flirt with her, but now, he felt like a fallen phoenix, not even as good as a chicken, and couldn't compare with her.
