The high school Oreo and Lu Hao were attending had a middle school branch. Oreo only transferred there during high school, but before that, Lu Hao, Zhang Wenqi, Jia Beibei, and even Gu Xin all knew each other.
The said aristocratic school wasn’t really quite like an aristocratic school. It boasted an all-around education, but the teachers there were like half-empty water bottles. They were only concerned with appearing superior in front of the students. The average for the high school entrance exam was only 200 points.
The students that taught ended up forming a strange school custom between them.
The homeroom teacher was like a cult leader and the students were its members.
Oreo called it the ‘homeroom teachers’ brains are irreparably flooded with water and are inflicted with chuunibyou’ disease. Every day, the homeroom teachers acted like consorts fighting in the inner palace. They all felt the need to spread cult-like ideas in each of their classes.
If you didn’t know how to kiss the homeroom teacher’s ass, then you would be marginalized.
They taught their students to jab at the director when they had nothing to do and that if someone went against the homeroom teacher’s ideology, that student should be ostracized.
They were not pressured to study for exams so they could only look for something to do each day to pass time.
Thinking up here, Oreo thought it was very funny.
He was dragged to Gardenia Alley.
Gardenia Alley was a narrow yet long alleyway. The people that lived around here had basically forgotten about this dilapidated place.
It seemed to be located behind a restaurant. A worn-out bellow blew and the floor was greasy.
Speaking of which, it really seemed like fate. The first time he talked with Lu Hao was also in this alleyway.
It was around the start of the first year of high school. Recalling it now, not even two years had passed by but it seemed to be ages ago like it was a dream.
At that time, Zhang Wenqi had a conflict with a male student from the school opposite to theirs so she told Lu Hao.
Lu Hao directly brought a group of people and had the male student brought to the Gardenia Alley. They tied him up, hung him in the air, then hit him with wooden sticks.
Oreo remembered when he passed by, he saw a group of guys in their uniforms with their sleeves rolled up. They each held a wooden stick in their hand, and their faces were contorted with maliciousness.
Oreo was not a rash person. He never raised his hands against other people and he was just a weak scholar, so he called the police.
Before the police arrived, Oreo was discovered by Lu Hao and the other students.
Lu Hao didn’t make things hard for him.
The opposing school was also impressive, it was an international school full of foreign students. Most international schools were still mostly full of Chinese students but this school was different and its tuition was unthinkably high.
That male student wasn’t high profile on normal occasions but after Lu Hao and his friends came out from the police station, there were a bunch of black cars parked outside.
The family of the injured student was very powerful and they even had connections to the □□ higher-ups. The people in the car didn’t get off and only continued to block the door.
The guardian of the child didn’t want any compensation and only wanted Lu Hao to be sent to prison.
The police could only sigh and let the children leave through the back door instead.
The guy who was beaten up had already received medical treatment and was waiting outside for Lu Hao with a group of people.
Oreo was also walking out of the police station. He was naturally gifted with an air of approachability and after speaking a few sentences with the boy who was beaten up, he formed a bond with him.
The guy was called Zhang Wei.
Oreo had always been charismatic and with his eloquence and sound logical ability, he mediated between the two people.
It could be said that this conflict only ended because of Oreo’s intervention.
That was the story of how he, Lu Hao, and Zhang Wei met.
This story was so different from the present that he nearly forgot it in his sea of memories.
A person kicked him and forced him to kneel.
Oreo looked back and saw that it was Lu Hao’s little follower. No, more precisely—
It was Teacher Xue’s other follower besides Lu Hao, Cheng Jun.
Zhang Wenqi opened the lid of her milk tea and poured the half-drunk boba tea onto the floor. Some of the tapioca pearls bounced on the floor.
“Go, lick it clean.”
Zhang Wenqi’s nails were painted rainbow. She gently placed her fingers by her mouth in a coquettish manner.
“Did you not hear her? She said to lick it.” Cheng Jun kicked his buttock again, causing Oreo to lurch forward and fall. He propped himself up with his elbows.
“MB, is this how you usually greet your customers, like a female dog?” Cheng Jun sneered and said.
Strange.
Why wasn’t Lu Hao here?
Gu Xin originally wanted to grab something quick to eat nearby but stumbled upon Teacher Xue and Lu Hao sitting together at the window of a McDonald’s.
Gu Xin pretended to not notice them. He ordered a meal and sat down behind them to listen in on their conversation.
“Haohao, was it really you who brought Oreo to a gay bar?” Teacher Xue asked.
“Teacher, I didn’t. He wanted to go himself and he forced me to go with him that day. You also know what kind of person he is. Just because his family had some money and his grades were good, he had such a young master syndrome. Didn’t you hate that side about him as well?”
“Haohao, you can tell teacher the truth.”
“The truth is he wanted to go himself. I only took that video.”
“I feel like you guys are going a bit overboard these days. Oreo said a lot today in Director Jiang’s office and I really can’t believe some of the things he said. I had no idea you guys were going so far.”
Gun Xin felt that it was so motherfucking strange. Since when was Teacher Xue so compassionate?
When Class Five first ostracized Oreo, wasn’t it her who instigated it?
And now? Overboard? Couldn’t take it anymore?
“Xie Jie-Jie, it’s not like we’re terrible people. It’s just, ever since Oreo entered our school, didn’t you also say you can’t stand his busybody attitude? He’s opinionated, ridiculously egotistical and everyone had to listen to him.” Lu Hao said.
“I didn’t bother with it because I thought it was a simple fight between boys. You were simply asking for it this time. Forget it, let’s not talk about him anymore.” Teacher Xue lowered her head and ate her fries.
Lu Hao looked at Teacher Xue sitting across from him with increasingly cold.
Lu Hao opened his phone. In the WeChat group, Zhang Wenqi had taken a photo of Oreo’s dog-like appearance and sent it to him.
Lu Hao replied: Well done.
Gu Xin also received the same message on his phone. He threw out his trash and quietly walked out of the McDonald’s.
In the Gardenia Alley, Jia Beibei went on an errand again to buy things for Zhang Wenqi. This time, she brought back a scissor.
“This guy is really scary ne, I’m too scared to cut him with a knife.” Zhang Wenqi signaled with her eyes and Cheng Jun took the scissor.
“It’ll be enough to just cut his hair.” Zhang Wenqi said.
Oreo watched as Cheng Jun tested out the scissor’s sharpness with satisfaction.
Of course, Cheng Jun had no intention of leaving it at just cutting his hair. This sort of thing that neither tickled nor hurt, Zhang Wenqi was still too gentle with her methods.
Oreo was already beaten to the point of being strengthless, but two people still came and held him in place from behind.
Oreo turned his head and weakly asked the person holding him on the right: “Do you really hate me that much, Guo Yang?”
Guo Yang shifted his eyes away. He didn’t dare to look at him. He replied: “Children of money laundering people like you, I hate them all.”
Oreo couldn’t be bothered to guess what Cheng Jun was planning to do. He simply closed his eyes. He was tired of looking at this world.
