4. 4

The dance. It was tonight. Ethan was busy which sucked but I was okay with going alone. Mary and Madison were going with their boyfriends Doug and Nolan while Me, Megan, and Melissa were going alone. I walk to the door wearing my dress Ray high fives me on the way. The guys didn’t want to go said it was ‘lame’ but secretly I think it was because none of them had dates.

Mary drives us then once we get their her and Madison take off towards the doors in search of their dates. “Just think that could have been you!” Megan laughs I giggle with her “They’re lucky I wish I had someone” Melissa complains I laugh “Come on your only nine you got time” I say playfully punching her arm.

We walk into the crowded room. From where I was I couldn’t see Mary or Madison but I guessed they were somewhere dancing with their dates. I look over at Megan and Melissa whom both seemed nervous. I grab their hands and lead them further onto the dance floor then start dancing to the music. They both start to copy me when the song changes.

In a moment I knew every move and smile as Megan and Melissa both looked confused. The song was the cha cha slide. They follow along but by the end, they both looked tired. I laugh then continue to dance when a slow song comes on I grab my sister’s hands and pull them to the side of the room. Melissa turns to me “Why can’t we dance?” I sigh “We can but it’s a slow song look” I point to a couple near us. “Oh,,” she says I nod my head Megan grabs Melissa hand and starts to slow dance with her.

I watch them smiling until a guy my age walks up to me. “You wanna dance?” he asks I nod my head and he leads me onto the dance floor. We start to dance when he starts up a conversation “You’re Ethan’s girlfriend right?” I nod my head “Why aren’t you dancing with him?” I frown “He didn’t come tonight.” James looks shocked “What do you mean?” I shake my head “he was busy” James turns me around “then why is he here”

He points to the far corner of the room where Ethan was dancing with Kara then they kiss. My knees suddenly get extremely weak and I run out of the room covering my face.
