Liang Rong was indeed worthy of being a film emperor. His level of pretending to be pitiful was on the highest level. Throughout the entire drive to where they would be dining at, he maintained the same pitiful look.

Song Ning felt particularly guilty inside. Before getting out of the car, he pulled Liang Rong closer and said, “It’s not that I think you’re not good enough compared to before…I just…”

Liang Rong patted the back of his hand, pretending to be strong and said, “It’s okay. I can wait slowly.”

Song Ning felt even guiltier when he heard that. He turned away, unable to look at him and said in a whisper, “B-Baby?”

“Yes!” A smile immediately blossomed on Liang Rong’s face.

Liang Rong didn’t tell Song Ning in advance that he would bring him out for dinner so of course he didn’t say where they were heading to as well.

Song Ning thought that Liang Rong’s status was different now, so he would probably pick a high-end restaurant. He looked down at himself and the loose sweater that he was wearing, instantly regretting not changing his clothes first before leaving.

However, when they got off the car, Liang Rong led him into an ordinary homely restaurant with modest decoration, which looked far from being eye-catching.

Song Ning nodded silently in his heart and thought it was better to keep a low profile like this. After all, their relationship had just started and drawing too much attention from the public might have an impact on Liang Rong’s career.

At this time, the restaurant owner guided them into a private room and handed over the menu. He then politely asked what the two of them wanted to order.

Song Ning looked through the menu and was just about to say something but Liang Rong spoke first, “A couple set meal please!”

13.

Liang Rong’s work schedule wasn’t really packed lately, so he appeared at the entrance of the clinic on time almost every day to pick up Song Ning from work.

After some time, even the female receptionists could tell what was going on and joked around with Song Ning. “Why didn’t Dr. Song’s film emperor show up today?”

Song Ning didn’t deny it, only smiling shyly at that, “There’s an outdoor magazine shoot today so he’s not free to come.”

The sky suddenly started pouring when he walked out of the clinic. Song Ning hurriedly turned back to get an umbrella. He grabbed one and was about to leave when he thought of Liang Rong, wondering if he had finished with his outdoor shoot and whether he would be caught in the rain.

Song Ning sent a text message to ask where Liang Rong was. He felt quite silly after asking. A film emperor going out to work would naturally be accompanied with at least 10 or even 20 staffs. What was there for him to worry about.

At this time, a reply and a GPS location were sent to him.

“I’m still working. I miss you.”

14.

Song Ning got on a taxi, staring at the water droplets on the window as he recalled the last movie premier.

At that time, despite knowing the man standing on the stage in all his glory no longer belonged to him, he still secretly bought tickets to the premier, sitting in the last row, all just to look at him from afar.

And now, despite knowing that going to the set himself wouldn’t help out much, he still called for a taxi and headed there with no hesitation. All because of his sentence of ‘I miss you’.

Song Ning looked down at the two umbrellas held tightly in his hands as the corners of his lips unconsciously raised.

15.

The first thing Song Ning learned when he got to the set was that the so-called outdoor shoot was mostly done indoors.

The staffs at the studio were really busy. He found a corner with only a few people and stood there quietly, looking at Liang Rong who was posing for camera not far away.

Liang Rong was wearing a black suit with his chest slightly exposed. It was a mature, urban professional style.

This was Song Ning’s first time appreciating Liang Rong up close. He realized he looked even better than the edited photos he had in his phone before. Unable to hold it in, he took out his phone to secretly take a picture.

However, the second he pressed the shutter, his shoulder was tapped by someone.

“Hello, I’m Liang Rong’s manager.”

16.

The manager handed Song Ning a cup of hot coffee. Song Ning took it and carefully prepared his words, “Hello, I’m Mr. Liang’s…”

“Boyfriend.” The manager finished his sentence for him.

Song Ning was shocked, “How did you know?”

“He told me himself, saying he’s in a relationship now.”

Song Ning nodded in response.

“Actually, I’ve always been curious about what happened to him in the past three years.” The manager took a sip of coffee and said slowly, “I single-handedly brought up Liang Rong, from his debut till now, so I know him very well. Due to losing his family at a young age, he has a gentle nature. He may be warm and nice to others, but they would never feel intimate or close to him.”

Song Ning thought back to the first time he saw Liang Rong three years ago and wholeheartedly agreed.

“However, when he returned this time, I could feel that he has changed a lot. His mental state improved, he became a lot more talkative and often joked around with everyone. I was amazed for a long time, unable to understand exactly what made him turn out like this…until I saw you today, which made me realize it suddenly.”

“What is it?”

“The only difference in these three years is that he had you by his side.”
