Ke Jia Ling was left speechless which caused Jin Shang’s face to grow darker.

Was there a man in the world able to maintain his composure when he hears that his fiance had been sleeping with another man, much less hearing the use of that many condoms?

Jin Shang almost couldn’t resist lashing out.

Before he could take any actions, he was stopped dead in his tracks by Lu Ding Ning’s next remark: “Young Master Jin, do let me remind you that today is your joyous day. If you dare to get physical, you will not only ruin your own engagement party, but also your reputation. It’s your reputation that’s on the line!”

Throughout the exchange, Lu Ding Ning had flawlessly maintained a genial expression on her face. Leading those around them, who couldn’t hear the conversation, to think that Lu Ding Ning was genuinely giving the couple her blessings. As for those who had been anticipating a show, their hopes were dwindling.

As for Jin Shang, despite how fuming mad he was internally, he didn’t dare to lash out and to reflect how he felt. Like Lu Ding Ning had said, today was his big day. If he did anything that made him look bad, it would just reflect badly on him.

Seeing Jin Shang anger begin to cool, Lu Ding Ning felt that the “congratulatory message” was almost done and it was time to present the couple with a congratulatory gift.

“ Xi Yuan…” Lu Ding Ning suddenly called out to her special assistant.

Ruan Xi Yuan, having been briefed earlier by Lu Ding Ning, immediately delivered the umbrella that he had been tasked to prepare.

Leaving the commotion behind, Lu Ding Ning had already left with Ruan Xi Yuan, seemingly uninvolved with what just transpired.

*Edit: This is a bit hard to translate as there’s a few things ongoing at the same time based on my interpretation. Umbrella is sǎn in mandarin which sounds similar to sàn , which has the meaning of breaking up, so she’s basically cursing them to split up. Additionally 你若不举，便是晴天, the phrase that the author uses in this context also means that the reason they broke up was because due to sexual incompetence, and that now that they’ve broken up, it’s basically spring time/happier days ahead for “Lu Yi Ning”. And lastly there’s the insinuation that Jin Shang has low standards / he’s impotent, hence him being acceptive of a ‘defective’ Ke Jia Lan.
